  1. I've had mine for about 3 years now. I just store it in a dark, cool place in the box they came in when I'm not using it. Make sure all the caps are screwed on tight. Haven't had any evaporation problems.
  2. Has anybody tried these yet? They look like they'd be a great drop shot or ned rig bait.
  3. my wallet! it's attracted MANY lures, rods and reels so far this season but it's looking pretty banged up now...time for a new one .
  4. If you have time before your next trip try tying the FG knot. I've learned this knot following this video...
  5. I got some of the Sol Aris gloves by KastKing and they come to the first knuckle, leaving fingertips exposed. They do snag a treble hook now and then but that's a minor inconvenience for avoiding melanoma IMO!!!
  6. Do it, you know you want too!
  7. So, would my 6'10" Medium/Extra Fast jerkbait rod handle poppers and spooks as well? If so, I may have an extra reel that I could sell for other goodies instead of using another setup for the small topwaters.
  8. Probably nothing, just wanted to provide some info on what types I was talking about.
  9. Would a 6.3:1 work for smaller topwaters like spooks, poppers, buzzbaits etc.? I'm talking like 1/2oz. or less in weight. I already know that a shorter rod in the 6'6" range would be best for these, just hoping my Shimano SLX 6.3:1 would work for this application.
  10. I ship mine with hook covers on and wrapped in bubble wrap. You can get the hook covers for pretty cheap off eBay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/100-Assorted-Fishing-Treble-Hooks-Safety-Covers-Bonnets-Fishhook-Treble-Caps/332837797147?_trkparms=ispr%3D1&hash=item4d7eadbd1b:g:WzUAAOSwa6JbwGnQ&enc=AQAEAAAB4BPxNw%2BVj6nta7CKEs3N0qV6xKnrle5CWfsHZ2KeFLOR9KTgFx0%2BTog6fAANzFwxYopYezUOMua1QLbdNBKxG%2Bf032gU%2Fiv0SpxdfQog7Ay%2FOqtCzDaU2UEbVxqIuEIDSApzYaYIYWF29%2BbmiGeWhBN870Go9iXV6sYMdaWmz4gvZL%2Fp6zhRV3ko8uWXH9QCEW%2FSfrrD4euq0P9UoYbeSnJzmZ%2Fmw2d%2FcRh%2Fik7%2FNoCPLVt%2BMBnrenPB%2FFeNEr8kyuifBl704XrUn%2FStnLYku2IUkJ9xRcV10tTRW5VhEJzV6Tm5XfwVHTKQBaSmL1Efu6Amm8IwRjMcGnosIIOogsJ8Di1NyAY9uOthqd259%2Bk5ue%2FODcWoZHuHvhmiqd3C7j%2ButiYbEWpYX3ftnF3z%2B8chpWSqUdVK%2FjwC305WPGrr9Li%2B5WXLHasj36tuiFY9K5Z91NLjPH7pi1UjVTZIjVOMHmlo%2BSkcvBRWG0fUM%2FI234wDV2JPYI3MD2%2BWhPHTb9aEQVLgaT8hwXT34XFCk9a7fAh0eJltFLKnPAS0CgAqWupPe1Pb7aJmLGtrcyZ%2BBq7EzJZeHFd8EzD%2FbkfSFhmKM87ry%2FxjucnT9v%2BVF%2FoAb8senrSyuFZUSzA%2F36O6Tw%3D%3D&checksum=332837797147fb50cf6491e84b4d8b0149bc1adf060f
  11. I just picked up these 7 Lucky Craft Staysee 90sp's off eBay for $37 shipped. Yes, they were previously used but only one (the top Nishiki) shows any sign of use with a little hook rash, the others look new. This lot had 3 of the 4 color schemes I was looking for...yeah, there's a couple doubles but still...these are $15.99 each brand new so I still think I got a pretty good deal to help round out my Fall jerkbait arsenal :).
  12. Have any of you guys seen this before? Looks like a great idea and not overly expensive either! https://easyviewtackle.com/
  13. eBay has been a ginormous disappointment this year . Last year it seems every quarter at least they had a 15 - 20% off sitewide...pretty much lame crap like you just described has been the rule this year...complete bummer, has forced me to look elsewhere for my purchases for the most part!
  14. I bought the Daiwa RG-AB recently off of eBay so you can still get them if you want one. I think they're awesome reels and worth the $35 I paid for mine...probably worth twice that much IMO.
  15. That would be nice but I don't have the time or money for that. I have my 2nd child on the way, making my last few fishing purchases for a while before I focus on the important stuff to come...like diapers, baby clothes, car seats etc. .
  16. If you want a broomstick I would suggest an Abu Garcia Veritas 3.0 Heavy rod. Not that expensive at $100 and Abu rods run heavier than their rating to begin with so with a Heavy from them you'd probably be able to land a tuna...lol.
  17. Wow, what a can of worms...lol. Honestly, you couldn't go wrong with either. It's like saying which would you rather have, a Porsche or a Ferarri...you'll be happy with whichever one so if you can go into a store and put your hands on the different rods/reels just pick the one that feels better to you, at this point it's all personal preference as both company's make top of the line products IMO.
  18. My local tackle shop has the Shimano SLX in a 6'10" M/F for $99 and they have the same size in a Curado for $129.99...I just so happened to have won a $90 gift certificate from a store contest they had over the weekend so i won't have to come up with a lot extra...would the Curado be worth the extra $30?
  19. Would a little coating of Sally Hansen "Hard As Nails" do the trick for keeping the eyes on? I know I use this clear coat on my hard baits to keep the eyes on and it works great.
  20. Get a Terminator Walking Frog! I LOVE this bait, super easy to walk and I am by no stretch good at making baits "walk" but I can with this frog so if I can do it...ANYBODY can do it .
  21. Some of the jerkbaits I have are larger like the Jackall Rerange 130 which is a 3/4oz. bait, would like something that will throw that well which is why I was looking at a 6'10" MH/F Exage.
  22. I'm just getting into jerkbait fishing. I've had some jerkbaits before but this is the first year where I'd really like to fish them a lot...especially in the Fall.
  23. That's the thing, I've never even used the BRS...I just can't get past it in my mind that somehow it's an inferior rod...it's not a Simano, Daiwa Lews etc. You know what I mean. It's probably all in my head because all of my reels are Shimano and Daiwa and my rods are mostly Dobyns but if the Exage is legitimately twice the rod of the BLS I could justify it for $75.
  24. I can afford $80-ish if the Exage would be a big enough upgrade.
