  1. I just checked the rod numbers and they're the same as the non-combo rod numbers.
  2. I believe it's the same rod as if you were to purchase the rod separately.
  3. They don't have another Chronarch for that price do they? If so I'd pay you to get me one...lol.
  4. Couple of reels, really like the looks of the Shimano SLX and the Abu Garcia Revo X .
  5. Anybody know when the next eBay 20% off coupon code will be coming around? I assume they rotate on a regular basis so it'll probably be right around the same time it was last year which is what I'm trying to figure out. I would think the first 20% off of the new year would be coming shortly.
  6. Overstock Bait and Tackle have Norman crankbaits on sale for $3.79 (you save $3.20) with $4.95 flat shipping fee. https://www.overstockbait.com/collections/norman
  7. Not quite yet but soon! Need 4" of ice to safely walk on but for me I need more than that to feel safe.
  8. I know where I live up North in Vermont I'm done for the season. I winterized my boat Wednesday as it was 53 degrees and according to the forecast that's the last 50 degree day we'll have til Spring. It snowed last night and has been blustery and cold today with occasional flurries and a temp hovering around 35 degrees for a high, lows in the 20's tonight and tomorrow will struggle to see 29 degrees as a high and all next week looks like temps in the mid 30's for highs and mid 20's for lows and snow showers almost every day sometimes an occasional mix of snow/rain. I know down in the dirty South you guys fish 365 but those of us who live up North don't have that luxury .
  9. Outlet Bait & Tackle have a Deep Little N in Goby color...https://www.overstockbait.com/products/norman-3-8-oz-deep-little-n-crankbait?variant=13691165868134.
  10. I have heard that the Movement 80x is a fish catching machine! They have a very unique, wide wobble that no other crankbait has. They are shallow cranks that only dive 1 - 3ft.
  11. I have a couple and they work great!
  12. For those of you who need a nice medium diving crankbait for the Fall Overstock Bait & Tackle has a wicked sale going on right now, they have the Norman Deep Little N's (9 - 12 feet diving depth) on sale for $2.81 (regularly $6.49)! https://www.overstockbait.com/products/norman-3-8-oz-deep-little-n-crankbait
  13. This is what i woke up to this morning... It was 30 degrees out this morning and with a 15 - 20mph wind it felt like 19 degrees according to my LaCrosse weather station. I love the winter...all of the snow and cold doesn't bother me a bit but at 4:30am this morning when the dog teased to go out and I was just in my pj's and a light Fall coat with that wind whipping around....
  14. @webertime have you been fishing any of the smaller lakes and ponds or just Champlain?
  15. I know their 12 Days of Christmas last year was severely lacking IMO. Seemed like they were trying to pawn off all of the unpopular items that they wanted to clear out to make room for the new years tackle...disappointing! I have no idea what their Black Friday specials are as my wife and I are some of the crazy people who actually DO go out early shopping...lol. That's when we get 90% of our Christmas shopping done.
  16. @webertime what are they hitting on right now, top water? cranks, jerkbaits? How about colors?
  17. I've been wanting to get out and get some of those Fall monsters up shallow before they head back to their deep winter homes but time just hasn't permitted these past few weeks. I know we've had several nights now (maybe 7 out of the last 10) of nightime temps in the mid to upper 30's...how fast have the water temps cooled down? I know tonight is supposed to be down to 30 degrees with the high tomorrow of 35 degrees and even some lows in the 20's this Sunday (along with some snow) and some nights next week. I'm wondering if I should put the boat up for the winter (fog the engine etc.) or if the Fall bite is still going?
  18. Bass are cannibals, they eat anything they can fit into their mouths...including other bass! How many times have we all heard about someone reeling in a 12" bass when a 20" bass strikes it and tries to eat it and the fisherman catches both bass. What about fisheries that don't have lot's of Crappie, Bluegill or Perch...what do you think the bass feed on...yup, you guessed it...other smaller bass!
  19. I know I just checked the current recorded temperature on Lake Champlain near where I live in Vermont and they said it's 59 degrees which is prime Fall transition temps. Some of the smaller lakes and ponds are a couple degrees cooler at around 57 - 58 degrees. It saddens me a little as I realize we only have about 1 to 1-1/2 months of fishing left where I live before it's too cold and the fish will be all out deep in their winter homes and there's possibly skim coatings of ice reported.
  20. That is last year's model, the gen 3. Still a nice reel but for those looking for the latest and greatest tech they released a gen 4 earlier this year.
  21. If I had to go with just one brand it would be 6th Sense. They make great baits with fantastic paint jobs and come with quality hardware stock so you won't need to upgrade anything right away and are reasonably priced (around $8 - $9). I've heard they have really good customer service too.
  22. I use a brand of jigs that apparently have run afoul of the BR censors but they're really good and if you want to PM me I'll get you more information. Seibert does make some good jigs too and Mike is a pleasure to deal with.
  23. Nah, ran into something else that needed the money over that. It sucks that there are priorities in life more important than our toys :D.
  24. I wouldn't use deep diving cranks on a Medium/Moderate rod...check your lure rating, I have an Abu Garcia Veritas 2.0 Winch and it's rated up to a 5/8oz. lure but being an Abu it'll probably handle up to 1oz. and most deep divers weigh around 1oz. I would stick to medium divers with that rod, something that goes in the 12ft. - 16ft. range.
