Bill Dance And Private Ponds
When i was a kid he fished on the big lakes like everyone else.He fished almost every professional B.A.S.S. tournament and he was one of the first bass fisherman in history to win back to back tournaments twice. The Fishing Hole,Orlando Wilson and Bill Dance were the shows that i learned from and i still like the show.I don't care if he's fishing in a private pond.He still gives good advice and i think its an entertaining show.I still learn from watching him.I like the crappie and catfish shows he does also.Back in the day nobody could fish a plastic worm like him.Hes one of the guys that helped shape bass fishing into what it is today.

Finesse
Well i have learned something. Thanks MDBowhunter. I was just reading about the fluoro and the line manufacturers say it stretches more than mono.I did not know this.Never too old to learn something new. I have a couple rods set up just for finese fishing and i use fluorocarbon for the main line.No leader.I keep 8 and 10 lb on them.

Finesse
If your not already using it,switch to fluorocarbon. Its invisible and more sensitive.Won't stretch. It's amazing for finese fishing. Steve

Let's Talk Retrieves....
I have done that with my fly rod.It works great! Spinnerbaits.Rather than just cast and retrieve i sometimes will cast and burn it through the water a few feet then stop reeling.Let it drop a few feet then burn through the water then stop again. All the way in.I have let it drop all the way to the bottom before the fast retrieve.I figure it 's something different the fish don't usually see. and it will get their attention.I have caught a lot of bass doing this. This may be something we all do im not sure.

Gigging Frogs
Skin them if you want.Soak them in milk.Season and flour them.Fry them in a skillet till brown just like fried chicken. You can deep fry them also. If you have never fried them i have to warn you,the legs will sometimes kick while frying. When i was a kid they freaked my mom out so bad that she would not cook them anymore. It was funny as heck.

Any Treerat Hunters Here?
I love them.Hunt them every season. My backyard is a hardwood forest and a squirrel heaven.I get my old marlin 60 with the scope and sit at the base of a tree and just wait.It don't take long usually.I think crock pots were invented for squirrel's.I use the tails for fly tying.

Feathered Treble Hooks
I tie them with feathers and also bucktail on smaller hooks.I use them on inline spinnerbaits that i make. Not hard at all.Buy a cheap fly tying vise or use vise grips.Get some black hackle feathers and your thread. You can also use braided line instead of thread.Brush it with superglue or epoxy when finished.A lot cheaper than buying them!

Favorite Dock Fish Or Piling Bait/technique
Early morning i cast buzzbaits and spinnerbaits.Later in the morning i will use finesse worms on a shakey head.Winter time i still cast the buzzbaits and spinnerbaits but switch to a jig later.

Fishing Frontal Conditions
Fishing is usually pretty good before the front.Afterwards when the fish shut down i fish like its the middle of winter. The bass don't want to move so you have to put the bait right in front of them.I use finese baits or jigs and fish super slow. I agree with bigill.Just put everything out of your mind and enjoy the fishing. I've had 3 heart attacks and believe me....Lifes too short brother! Enjoy it while we can.

What's Your Problem?
Fishing deep water.Fishing with crankbaits is another problem for me.I do pretty good with the lipless cranks but never had much luck with other crankbaits.I just need to fish them more!

Losing Bass On Frogs -- Not Sure Why
I use an old 7'6" abu garcia black max heavy rod with an even older browning casting reel thats been put through h**l. 50# power pro braid. Most of the time i'm throwing a zoom frog and if i find myself missing alot i slip a weedless hook over the barb of the main hook and let it hang as a trailer hook.I find alot of my missed fish are because the bass just knock the darn thing out of the way as he's coming up for it or they just short strike it..I have caught them on this trailer hook and the frog and main hook are hanging out of its mouth.Hardest thing i had to learn frog fishing was to wait to feel the fish before i set the hook.I was so used to just yanking it when i feel the least little bite.

Finally Loaded My Pic
Nice one!

Guess I'm Not A Fisherman...
The bite is slow here also but i still catch them.I go early and cast buzzbaits and spinnerbaits around weedbed edges, docks and any other cover i can find.If that don't produce anything i try shakey head with zoom finese worms or lizzards fished slow.

What Tackle Do You Carry When Wading?
I use a 4'6" shimano ultra light rod with a quantum optix 10 reel 6# flourocarbon line.I usually carry a cheap walmart bag with roostertails, mepps and other inline spinners, small floats and some small hair jigs i make myself. It may not catch the monsters (have not caught one on it yet to see)but it sure is fun to catch the small mouth and bluegills on.I am mostly looking to have a fun day and this does it for me. Fly fishing i carry a 5wt rod and reel and usually a couple boxes of wooly buggers, copperjohns, prince nymphs, several different topwater flies i make with foam and feathers. These fit in small fly boxes in my pockets.

Hello From Central Kentucky
Thanks everyone. Ronald you will definitely have to try ceder creek. There are some huge bass being caught there right now.The bass in my picture was caught at dock #3 (far side of the lake from the dam) a couple weeks back. Its only going to get better as the weather cools.Crappie will be biting soon if youre into that.Herrington has alot of night tournaments happening now.Not sure about the weights but i hear they are doing pretty good. Ceder creek has their sporting dog championships every year.I was there once to watch and its really something to see.I really enjoyed it.
