  1. Another vote for rage swimmers fish them from 2.75-3.75
  2. Slow pulls is what I typically do drag and reel in slack repeat. I do also get bites on the fall from the initial cast more so when I'm using a lighter weight.
  3. I ordered a 872S yesterday and the retailer said they should be getting some within the next few weeks so looking forward to it.
  4. Chartruese/black back is my favorite followed by a chrome shad
  5. My fly fishing trout wade trips are anywhere from 3-5 hours but my bank bass/crappie/bream/white bass trips are 8+ hours
  6. Got a Patriarch XT I just bought I guess its the latest edition as it doesn't have the anti-reverse switch on it.
  7. Looks like one of the newer model presidents and I've read they don't make them like they used to unfortunately. I got several of the older ones with the wooden knob between 8-10 years old that work nearly as good as the day I bought them.
  8. My mom taught me to fish and still enjoy the trips with her more than any trips I take during the year with my friends. We're going on a salt water trip in October and both are looking forward to it maybe her more than me! She's old school still bait fishes(minnows/worms) about 95% of the time. I can sometimes get her to throw a little hair jig under a float for crappie, but long as she's out there with me that's all that matters.
  9. Needed a new cash back credit card with rewards to my benefit since my old one recently changed its cash back reward categories. Since I'm getting a $200 cash back bonus with it decided to splurge on a new rod for shaky heads and light Texas rigs. Also picked up a new Pflueger Patriarch XT 35 off eBay for $100 off retail to go on it.
  10. Same for me brush hawgs didn't work as well for me this year seemed they wanted lizards more weirdly?. I kept trying my brush hawgs to no avail but everytime I changed to a watermelon or black lizard I got some.
  11. Strike King Game Hawg in blue craw, owner 4/0 EWG hook, 1/4 worm weight. St Croix Legend Elite 6'10" MXF 15# braid and 12# sunline sniper for leader.
  12. 2.75 or 3.25 Rage Swimmer
  13. That one and the crick hopper are what got me started
  14. Caught some on the rage anacondas in the past texas rigged slowly dragged across the bottom
  15. For spinning I have a few lighter setups that I run straight P-Line CX Premium in 6#. My main setups I run braid 8#, 10#, and 15# all with sunline sniper in various sizes for a leader. For low stretch Floro I think you have to go for the abrasion resistant varieties like Sunline Structure and Seaguar Abrazx.
  16. Simms is what I pretty much stick with for fishing clothing. You can get Simms gear marked down end of season on Simms site and also steep and cheap to save some bucks cause Simms is expensive.
  17. For me it's based on season mainly but my go to is a texas rigged game hawg in the early spring to start of summer. After that mainly a shaky head 5 inch finesse worm green pumpkin.
  18. Any feedback from those that have the NRX+ 872S or 852S? Looking into picking up one of these models to throw light(1/8-1/4 max tungsten) texas rigged craws, lizards(4-6 inches), and shaky heads with 4.5-5 inch worms. I read the previous 852S was kinda stiff and made it not a good caster so wondering is that still true with the NRX+ 852S cause if so I'll likely go for the 872S when available again.
  19. If completely against braid/leader go with sunline sniper in 8#
  20. Tried Moaner Hooks or are these not quite what your looking for? http://moanerhooks.com/product-category/stroker-hooks/
  21. Fish Head Spin with Rage Swimmer as the trailer, Lipless Crank(redeye shad), and lastly a Spoon for me
  22. Fat Baby Finesse Worm in Green Pumpkin or Black followed closely by a Roboworm Straight Tail in Black Grape on a MegaStrike Shake2 Pro Head
  23. Yup!!! I've had days I've caught spots, largemouth, crappie, bluegill, redbreast, white bass, and small stripers all on little road runners when nothing else really was working. I always keep one rigged up in the spring with me.
  24. Good ole white/chartreuse Roadrunner never fails and catches everything.
  25. Texas rigged game hawg in blue craw color is my go to always have it rigged up caught 3 of my 5 largest bass on it.
