  1. Work on building confidence in fishing senkos mainly wacky and neko rigged bought a few colors to try.
  2. KVD game hawg Texas rigged 3/0 hook and 1/8 or 3/16 tungsten weight
  3. Brush hawg Texas rigged, shaky head worm(roboworm fat or strike king baby fat finesse), red eye shad, and fish head spins are my go tos. I go to the lake rigged up and leave with rigged up but will rotate out colors and sizes as needed on them. Going to try to work in senko and neko rigs this season to try and build some confidence in them.

  5. Probably megabass as usual
  6. Haha oh well didn't know that part man thanks
  7. It does feel great very light and I love the way the drag sounds. Every other reel I have is Pflueger so this reel might be my entry point to another brand.
  8. I have about 12 flueger reels in total from Presidents up to Supreme XT's and never had a issue out of any of them but they are mostly older models bought between 2010 and 2016. I've fished them for bass crappie and even took them with me for salt water trips and they are still performing great with little to no maintenance. I've heard the newer ones aren't as good since Pure fishing took over as said above. I have a Patriarch XT spinner that is new bought this year that I am hoping lasts since it's likely made under the Pure Fishing brand. Only taken it out twice so far no issues and feels smooth as butter. I recommend to anyone wanting a pflueger to not buy from a Bass pro etc but go to eBay and used forums and look for a older model like a wooden handled President or one of the Supreme XT's with the gold accents not the orange(current) which is also going to be replaced end of this year with a updated XT.
  9. Picked up a very gently used Conquest 842S off another forum and bought my first Shimano reel to go on it a Vanford 3000
  10. My mom and I go back to the basics every year for the bream spawns. Grab some light reels, cricket hooks, small bobbers, and 2 tubes of crickets and start looking for beds. Only do it 2/3 times a year but have to admit it's as fun or maybe more than bass fishing.
  11. One box would have worms and lizards/brush hawgs in the typical colors watermelon, green pumpkin, and black with the necessary tungsten weights/shaky heads 1/8-3/16 and hooks. The other would have my favorite color soft swimbaits(keitech/rage swimmers) in a shad natural color, a sexy shad, and a blue gill and I would do the same with a few red eye shad lipless cranks in that same box.
  12. I've used rage craw and space monkeys as topwaters around lily pads and they did well. Don't know if they were intended for use as topwater but they were my goto several summers ago.
  13. No they stay pretty hooked up I try to change my hooks on crankbaits and I think that helps also. The action listed is fast but I think it's more toward moderate fast it has a pretty deep bend to it when flexed.
  14. I got a Megabass XX Orochi Ronin 6'8" rod that is supposed to specialize in throwing jerkbaits but it works great for crankbaits too because of the deep flex. I've been using it for throwing 1/4 ounce red eye shads more than anything else since I bought it.
  15. I like gold blade like the yellow body with red dots on sunny days or stained water and silver blade on overcast days like the pure silver panther martin.
  16. Try some black, olive, brown wolly buggers if you havent they've caught trout, bass, and bream for me.
  17. I sell them if it's mostly a unused pack of plastics or a lightly used hard bait just gather a few things sell as a lot to try to get a few bucks towards another purchase. I have also given some to friends who fish but just don't fish as much as me or don't have the means to experiment as much with lures that they don't know about.
  18. I just purchased a 7'3" myself and plan to use it predominantly for shaky heads but will probably also be used for light texas rigs(1/8 & 3/16) with craws and lizards when needed.
  19. Fan of purple myself love Roboworm black grape color after that I'd have to go with a green pumpkin
  20. For me it's several things the pursuit, the fight, and the people I spend time on the water with are generally just good people. Past few years I wasn't fishing for bass as much been spending most my time wading the rivers for trout except March and April I dedicated those 2 months to bass/crappie. I noticed this year just how much I missed the pursuit and fight that bass give me that trout just don't provide. There's nothing better to me than a bass making a spinning reel drag scream. I just don't get that experience with a fly rod and trout. Lastly I can't get my mom to go out and wade fish for trout with me but I can get her to sit on the bank and drown worms and minnows and that time together fishing with my mom is special.
  21. Ended up picking up a 852S and I also ordered a 872S which will be shipped once in stock hopefully soon according to the retailer. Took the 852S out yesterday to a lake for few hours that I hadn't fished in around 12 years since my usual lake was getting rained on all morning. Didn't expect much luck and ended up only catching one little largemouth and a catfish but it was mainly just a day to see how the NRX and the other rods I've bought recently felt to me. I was surprised how far I could cast a 1/8 shaky head with a 4.5" roboworm on the 852S. I used 12# hi-vis SX1 with a 8# sunline sniper leader and was getting it out pretty far but will say the sunline was noisy in the recoil guides. The one bass I caught was a weird feeling can't say what it felt like it just felt different and just I set and had him on and it was a pretty short fight. Got another bite or 2 earlier that I believe may have been aggressive bluegills picking at my worms/lizards. All in all can't wait to really test this rod and the 872S out more once the weather really cools down here in the south.
  22. Strike king game hawg in blue craw Texas rigged first time I pulled it out to try it caught a fish on second cast. Then same day on my last cast before I decided to go home caught my pb on it. To this day I think 3 of my 4 biggest have been on it.
  23. Fishhead spin with a paddle tail like a rage swimmer if your a bank angler or a spoon would be great starting options
  24. I fish fly tournaments for trout here in the southeast and we use a similar format 100 points per fish and 20 points per centimeter. Example a 20 centimeter trout is worth 500 points. We usually set a minimum length for a scorable fish before the tournament.
  25. Black Grape is my favorite roboworm color then the oxblood red flake
