  1. I have a couple Calcutta 200d's and a 300d. Bought them after reading @A-Jay review. Awesome reels!
  2. Congrats on the new boat! Enjoy your new ride!
  3. I moved here from out of state and I'm constantly shocked at how bad the drivers are here. People do crazy things like make a right turn from the left turn lane or vice-versa. The people who read their phones while doing 70mph on the 93 scare me. Is it better out in North Adams?
  4. They might be coming up here too... https://www.newsweek.com/alligator-spotted-massachusetts-connecticut-river-1620562

  6. Congratulations!
  7. My wife gets so many flats I wound up buying a full size spare for her car so I can change out the wheel and deal with the flat one on my own time. I keep a breaker bar, torque wrench, plug kit and inflator in her trunk. Once she got 2 flat tires at work so I had to bring out 2 of her extra snow tires/wheels. ? I probably should get a Milwaukee cordless impact gun too.
  8. We have it on 6 channels plus Peacock. It's a little much.
  9. I think they have had that model at Cabela's for around 3 years now. Sorry I don't know about when or if they are going to replace it. I bought a 6' M spinning rod for kayak fishing. It looked great and build quality was really good for the price. Like most St. Croix rods, it was a little stronger than other companies medium power rods and tip heavy. I really don't like tip heavy rods so I returned it.
  10. I'm a big chicken so my doc ordered a Cologuard box for me. Porch pirates stole it. They are in for a surprise. Hahaha.
  11. I have thought about using a heat gun to straighten a couple rods out. Any tips?
  12. I have 3 President size 30 reels. They balance well on my 6'6" spinning rods.
  13. I think you're right about inshore rods. Do you prefer them because they have a more moderate taper? I'm starting to not like xf bass rods. What models do you have?
  14. Sorry dude! I wasn't questioning your judgment on choosing the Outback. Didn't mean it to come across that way. I know you research stuff in depth. I'm always impressed with your knowledge of equipment and you've pointed me in the right direction many times. Was just trying to return the favor on the fit kit. Sorry. Was also just pointing out the roof rack issue for Koz since he is considering the Outback. I should have said that. My bad.
  15. Cool. I agree that kit is not ideal. Just wanted to let you know about the option. The roof rack was one of the cons of the Outback for me. I wish they would just have standard side rails like they have on the Crosstrek and Forester. Glad to hear you figured out a solution.
  16. This is probably the best suggestion.
  17. I looked into getting a 2017 Outback and remember Thule made an adapter kit that allowed you to mount Thule feet and crossbars to a Subaru Outback. The part # of the Fit Kit is 184063. Expensive at $130, but possibly worth it? https://www.thule.com/en-us/roof-rack/fit-kits/kit-184063-_-184063 BTW I think wagons are awesome for kayakers. I drove my wife's old Volvo wagon for a while before it become too expensive to maintain. It was so easy to load the kayak up there because it was low. Also convenient to fold down the center back seat and lay down your rods. The wagon was great because it had side roof rails so you could easily attach third party crossbars.
  18. I also have the Thule Outrigger with an old set of Thule square bars. It works great. I couldn't load a kayak on my 4runner without it. The only problem is it produces an annoying howl at highway speeds with or without the kayak. Does yours do that? @Koz Yakima makes something similar you might want to look at called the Yakima Boatloader EVO: https://yakima.com/products/boatloader-evo If you go with Yakima crossbars, I would avoid their round bars as I've heard sometimes attachments can slip no matter how much you tight them down. Aero bars are the way to go.
  19. Where do you fish in Northern Orange County, CA? Is any place big enough to launch a boat? I thought there were just a few parks with little ponds.
  20. Maybe time to get a whole house back up generator. We have lots of storm related power outages here, so many people have them. They kick in automatically and are hooked up to propane or gas. Expensive but worth it out here.
