Tatula SV TWS
It's the same chassis..but the SV is great. I have two, love em both.

Daiwa Tatula SV or Curado 70
I have two SVs and a 70. I like the SVs better. Better light bait control, easy to dial in, more customizable.. the only thing that I like better on the 70 is the shape and size. Both are quality and you won't have any issues but if you plan on pitching, flipping, etc. it's the SV no doubt. That braking system will amaze you.

mmm, love me some passive aggression.

What are your football jig weight/depths?
1/4oz with 3/0 or 4/0 hook. Don't understand the infatuation with such heavy jigs..

2 new rods for under 150$
I loved my first generation Silverhawk! A 6'6" M/F that I used for everything from top water to jerkbaits to soft plastics. Good components, durable and a great value. I still have it and usually let other friends accompanying me use it. I got mine on sale, and if Cabelas is running the same sale right now I'd definitely recommend jumping on it!

Skipping with a baitcaster.
I have experienced the exact same thing except with a Tatula SV. It is unbelievable. I posted this elsewhere, but without any change in technique the Daiwa (coming from a Lews TP G) has unequivocally improved my ability to skip and pitch. It is an incredible tool to lessen the learning curve when starting to skip jigs. When the brake is set to 20 it is nearly impossible to backlash, and working your way down to the 8-10 range inspires serious confidence.

Uses for tiny Keitech Crazy Flapper
My favorite soft plastic. I rig the 2.8 on a 1/16oz Owner Ultra Head "Wacky" and I've had great luck with it. I found that to be the best weight for optimal rate of fall. It does great in cold water scenarios. I stick the 3.6 on a 1/4oz stand up shakey head.

Whats the deal with the Cabelas Arachnid reel
Don't think the SV spool fits.. it's a great reel though at an incredible value. The Cabela's warranty is hard to beat.

Kistler mag2 or klx
I have three KLXs but they're all casting rods. I don't like Winn grips at all, so I've never considered the Mag. The KLX is light, really light.. I think all of mine a sub-4oz. It's a great blank, nice cork and reel seat, and good build quality. Needless to say, one of my favorite rod lines and made in the USA.

Tatula SV
Actually with the SV spool the magnetic brakes are always on. Even when set to 0 they still slow the spool to a degree. There are previous SV models like the 103 that have been considered overbraked. We're lucky to have the SV spool (though not floating) trickle down to the Tatula for ~$140. With that said, I really like this Tatula SV. I have no issues pitching a 1/8oz jig with a craw trailer with the brakes anywhere from 6-10. The backlash control sounded like a bunch of hype hoopla.. but it's pretty impressive. It's fun to set it at twenty and work your way down when learning to skip jigs.

Tatula SV
I bought two Tatula SVs a few weeks ago and they have been great.

Shaky heads!
Squirrel tails and crazy flappers.

Crankbait Line
I use 10lb mono. Rarely does line or knot fail when cranking. It's not a max drag technique so if your drag is set correctly you should be fine. 10lb is going to give you another foot or two of depth and reduce line visibility. I see no reason to go as heavy as 15lb.

Build a spinning setup around $120
I put together a Daiwa Exceler spinning combo for my girlfriend and it's been great for her bottom contact fishing. She always catches fish so it gets a workout. 6'6" M/F, a 2500 size reel and 6lb InvizX. MSRP for the rod and reel is around $140 but Cabelas has the reel for ~$40 and the rod on eBay is in the same ballpark. The rod looks really sharp.

JDM Tatula SV clarification
I went through mine today after work and both have 5 traditional ball bearings. So, that means it's either missing a corrosion resistant bearing (USDM has 2) or the roller bearing. Oh well, I'll just send them to @Delaware Valley Tackle and let them figure it out. MOOREE BEARINGSSS.

JDM Tatula SV clarification
I bought the USDM in 7.3 and the JDM in 8.1 Love em both. I want to get levelwind/worm gear bearings added to both in the offseason, along with the missing bearing in the JDM reel. However, no one can help me find out which I'm missing.
