  1. my best fish of 07
  2. Thanks J! I'll give it a shot next time
  3. oy, looks like I need to find a new place to park! lol...I park at the residential area where I have to walk though the little play ground area...I'll look that other place up next time, thanks guys!
  4. Nice fish! I'm jealous, I haven't caught a LMB since last fall =( @pkschul - definitely Lake Huntsman, its a bit of a walk to get to that rocky area where Ron is fishing but it's worth it! http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1194813522
  5. x2 I'm up for J choosing but I'd like to go where the big fishies are =D
  6. wow, didn't know gold fish could get that big, lol
  7. I may be wrong, but I always assumed that "Other Fish Species" is primarily a format for "discussion", where photographs are kind of secondary. Whereas the emphasis on this forum seems to be more on binaries, where members can post images & videos of ANY species. Roger I agree
  8. Worked for me =D http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1192793751/0
  9. eh, it's not even about getting "fired up about carp" it's just an outing that 5lbbluegill wanted to share with everyone on the forum...so he caught a carp and wanted to share, what's the harm in that? lol No need to get all riled up about a guy showing his catch off...if you don't want to see a carp don't click the link! simple eh? lol
  10. Don't listen to all the haters =P That's a cool looking carp ya got there, I always see this one bright orange carp in the local pond I fish but I can never get it to bite...I also see a white one with a spotted bright red head...wish I could catch em =D
  11. I don't know about anyone else but mine wasn't in a postcard looking thing... It was in a very official looking Shimano envelope...as soon as I saw the letter I knew what it was at once. I sent mine in mid january (I think) and got it about 2 weeks ago.
  12. I agree with RoLo, I loooove my braid...with that said, i've used suffix, powerpro and stren...I liked them all...I want to give Berkley Big game Braid a try but they only sell them in 300yrd spools at my local tackle store at $25 a pop...on par with the BPS braid which I haven't tried yet either....
  13. Has anyone ever tried this braid? It's about $25 for a spool of 300yds...worth it?
  14. score! now to just get it patched up....lol
  15. Heya, I find that I have the same problem with flouro...It's all about the thumb control, if I don't slow it down gently with my thumb...I won't really backlash per se but it just seems like the line will get loose around the spool deeeeep down. I find that Braid doesn't have this problem at all, and I don't need to use my thumb as much. Mono is kind of like the mid way point between the two. It'll do the same thing as flouro in the beginning but once it "breaks in" (the only way I can describe it) it'll act almost like braid where you won't need as much thumb control....worst comes to worst I use the tape method but find that it leaves sticky stuff on my line afterwards =/
  16. I would but I don't think I've been to Mercer before, the one we went to that first time was Huntman right?
  17. I'm in! hopefully I'll have a trolling motor and my Sea Eagle all patched up by then =D
  18. Like many have said it depends on the area...In Northern VA, there's one Dick's that sells Loomis IMX and GLX rods, St croix and All star rods with a ton of other rod types to choose from...In Richmond (southern VA) the 2 Dick's that I go to have low end st croix and All star rods, they do sell alot of plastics but skimp on hard baits.
  19. I agree with Sam, I went to the Pastures a few days ago when it was kinda warm...the water level is up and the river is flowing rather strong so trying to jump rocks might be a bit dangerous at this time of considering the cold temps. I tried bank fishing when I was there too...no luck =/ How was the fishing at the rapp?
  20. Yep yep, it'll be fun having some BR members to fish with! I understand it's a long drive though =) but worth it!
  21. Yep along side and on the pier....but....I'd only go on the pier late at night, the pier people don't like it when you fish on it during the day, but they told me it would be ok to fish it at night as long as I closed the gate behind me. Wow...40 - 50 lbsers....I can't wait!
  22. I use the calcutta swim baits that Green Top sells, in the Bunker and Golder Bunker size, 4 and 5 inch both work well
  23. Heya guys, Had a blast last night...it was coooold but it was still alot of fun. They seemed to start biting at around 4-5am, which was the same as the last time I went so that's good to know... and the biggun of the night... join me next time =D
  24. don't have to buy it for 199, but you do have to buy it from an authorized dealer. I should have thought of the Ebay thing but I got mine from Simmons for 180 and got the rebate
  25. ;D Hilarious! Didn't really think about the problem with an inflatable, we saw on the website that they had a dog in one of the inflatables so we didn't give it a second thought. Good point! @Bassectomy That's an awesome picture!
