  1. I remember tossing a jig out into the middle of a small pond once...I was using green braided powerpro and out of no where a bunch of birds fly by...I guess this one couldn't see the line cause he flew right into it...his struggle then tangled him up into it ... i had to reel him in hold him down a slowly remove the line...that was really weird
  2. I fish off an inflatable kayak, I like it cause it's compact and lets me get out on the water cheap =D I HATE getting blown around by wind as I can get blow away easiily, another thing....cranking deep cranks can drive your kaayak into ht enait eitself
  3. Yep, I recently switched to Calcutta swim baits in the Golden Bunker color...they look JUST like the little fish swimming around the dock area.
  4. Went last night...had lotsa fun, those tackle shop guys don't get out much =D ... I look retarded in some of these photos.... My friends caught the last 2! total of 10 fish, as we stopped taking pictures after the first few, too cold
  5. Thanks guys! had to postpone it for tomorrow night due to the 20+mph wind gusts =( I'll let you all know!
  6. I've tried Suffix once, Stren and PowerPro many times. I personally like Stren and PowerPro, but I haven't given suffix enough tries. From when I was using it, it was prety decent... I guess I'm saying I like them all, they each have their own little quirks...PowerPro has a waxier feel than Stren but the wax seems to just rub off and make your finger green. Besides that I think they're all pretty good =P
  7. smaller than i thought they'd be....
  8. I'm gonna be going this friday night to try it out, Jason ( JCrzy4SmlMth ) said he called around to some tackleshops in the area and they pretty much said "good luck" to catching striper...hopefully I'll prove em wrong =D
  9. Yep, I used it to fix soft plastic flukes and swimbait heads when I was using a twist lock hook. Just gotta be careful when you're opening the rip to drop the Mend it in. If you're spreading the tear out too hard the mend it can cause it to rip entirely. I just spread open gently, put a drop in, and squeeze gently for 10 seconds or so and let it sit to dry...fully usable in an hour or less! great stuff =D
  10. No, I go to JMU, I think SimonSays goes to ODU though, if I am not mistaken. Flippin, I would like to try it out, I just need to learn how to use a baitcaster first! I still haven't given them any time to learn. Lol, sorry not ODU, but I have the pleasure of dodging bullets in the heart of Richmond at VCU!
  11. what advantages does one have over the other? what are some situations where you would use one over the other? I've seen many reviews comparing each to mono but non comparing them to each other. Maybe you guys could help shed some light for me =D Thanks!
  12. Yea...bps is rather slooooooooooowwwwwwww
  13. hilarious ;D now if only they'd put those Stalker Tacklebag Backpacks back on sale >
  14. how much did ya buy the carrot stick for at the show?
  15. Dropped 3 C notes :'( d**n buy 3 get 1 free luckycraft deal
  16. There was a big sale at a local sporting goods store (Green top in Richmond, VA) and I picked up a bunch of lures as well as a spool of Trilene Maxx ("Designed with the castability of Trilene XL and the toughness of XT") and some Trilene IronSilk. Has anyone tried Iron silk before?...I got some 6lb test line for 2.99...I trust trilene so I kind of looked past the pricing (there's probably a good reason why it was discounted so much). Anyone want to chime in =D? Thanks guys!
  17. Heya Sam, Gotta love those greentop guys, so helpful. As for the sale I was there a few days ago and saw some LC pointers and I think one type of LC crank there for 8.99, they were kinda hidden on the middle top of the back wall section. I hope they aren't sold out cause I was planning to head back there (without the girlfriend ;D ) and pick up a few things.
  18. That's amazing...I can't wait! I also hope the big guys don't put Green top out of business though =/ they seem like more of a smaller mom/pop store ( I might be totally wrong )
  19. x2 I think I got it from one of Dave Chapelle's stand ups...
  20. I haven't tried the exact ones that were linked on the first post but I have used their Storm WildEye Shad for stripers off docks with decent results. My go to Bait for shore striper fishing have been Calcutta swim baits in the Golden Bunker color, works great and I haven't been skunked yet!
  21. x2 I Couldn't catch a cold on these. The only zoom product I don't like. Also Cajun Red Cast. I hated that stuff with a passion. > Dislikes x3 nada on the toads x902348 on the Cajun Red...coils like CRAZY BPS Extreme rods - to me they seem over rated as in their MH Fast action rod seems more of a M ModFast (this is coming from a st croix user)...a 2lb bass snapped mine, good bps return policy though. Likes *** - I've switched from senkos/brush bugs/worms because aluring baits just hold up better, and at the price...they're hard to beat. Fat Ika - love these babies, too bad they're 6-7.00 a pack =/ (*cough* help us out ***! *cough*) PowerPro/Stren Braided lines - Love the braid, and love these two brands, I find the green color comes off the Stren more but it's not a big deal...never tried suffix but i'd probably like it too.
  22. yep foot of the bridge and along the docks
