  1. Me, but I figure i'm not really losing anything besides a chance to try out their product, so no reason to fuss over it (not that you're fussing over it, just saying in general =P)
  2. Thanks for the tips! I'll give it a try tomorrow morning and let you know
  3. nice ones! I went last thursday and friday, caught a bunch of small ones, but nother like the one i caught thurs, I think i'll try it tomorrow morning to see how the morning bite is. A quick question what part of the pony pastures did you fish? I walked down river a little bit right after the last of the rapids in the area where people sunbathe and such. How did you toss the rapala out? my jigs kept getting caught in the rocks =/ wouldn't wanna lose a rapala like that! and how large were the tube you were using ? thanks!
  4. Yep I thought that too but they're nice to have, I went smallie fishing for the first time on a whim using the 2inchers, worked great
  5. Just got these in, dunno if anyone's still interested, but here they are! caught my first smallmouth just today on the 2in grubs too =D
  6. just went down to Pony Pastures and tried the Smallmouth fishing for the first time, hooked into this baby =D
  7. I've been checking bps, cabelas, and reeds, sites religiously for avids under 100, but no luck =( the selection at bps has dwindled also, and none of the dickssportinggoods around my have the avids =/ anyone know what other websites i can stalk =D?
  8. Recently picked up some brush bugs from *** (black/blue flakes) how would you guys fish em? T-rigged or weightless?
  9. hmm, what sites are you referring to specifically? cabelas, bps, are just 2 that pop into mind, what others are there?
  10. god I wish they had a leftie version :'(
  11. Nope. :'( All of my first, three lure package found new homes WAY before the hooks got dull. I caught 16 bass on one, eight on another and zero on the third (first cast). They now sleep with the fishes. ouch, at 20+ a lure I think i'd cry if I lost it on the first cast ;D
  12. hmm, I've never wacky rigged before, the whole O-ring thing, do you slip the hook between the ring and the worm instead of through it? wouldn't that make the hook run parallel with the worm? or am I missing something? :-/
  13. I recently started using the Berkley Vanish as my Fluoro leader, many have said to try and use seaguar inviz but I can't really afford that at the moment and I have a whole spool of berley just sitting around. In light of this I have 15 lb power pro with an 8lb fluoro, what I've been told to do has had me lose about 5 fish on my last outing (half a pack of fat ikas :'( ) . Any thoughts or ideas? ps: I use a surgeons knot to connect the 2, maybe it's my knot also?
  14. just my few cents...we don't get too many crazy sized bass here in VA (more likely that I just haven't caught any) but I'll mainly practice catch and release...my parents and my girlfriends parents always give me crap about how much of a waste it is for me to toss the fish back in...it could have made a good meal to them. For me it's all about the fun of setting the hook and dragging one in. The only time I'll keep a fish is when I take a friend out fishing for the first time, if it's of limit we'll take it back and cook it up.
  15. I'm not sure if this was posted already but I was browsing through In-Fisherman mag and saw an ad for bps, 200 assorted plastics for 10 dollars shipped. Just wanted to give you guys the heads up ... www.basspro.com/ms161
  16. Slack line, with slack line the senko will fall vertically with it's nice little wiggle all the way down, a taunt line kinda ruins the action
  17. lol, I've only had to take scissors to my baitcaster once...the first and only time i've tried to skip a plastic under a dock...ooooo weeee
  18. So you think turning a handle requires more strength than setting a hook or horsing a bass out of cover? When I hook a bass with baitcasting gear I don't just point the rod at the fish and winch him in with the reel. I slam him with the rod and use it's leverage to pull him out, and it makes more sense to use my stronger arm for that. But that's just me! I agree, I don't know about anyone else ... but I use my rod alot for leverage also on my baitcasting set up, all my rods are lefties, I think switching is kinda silly when 90% or so of the hits that I experience on jigs and soft plastics (which I mainly fish) are on the initial fall, if you're switching when there's a hit you lose out on that time to set the hook. Also my right arm is alot stronger than my left for those strong hooksets.
  19. My 1 dollar walmart one works pretty darn well, and compared to that ..... I can't wait to try a calvitron
  20. i'd have to say around 1.5-2 also, I catch alot of small ones even with larger baits, it's amazing how 6in dinks will hit a 5in worm...
  21. wow, avids for 75 a piece...i'm gonna make a run to dicks tomorrow....
  22. in my experience, yes, but not by much, they're pumped full of salt just like the senkos the only thing is that they're about twice as thick
  23. any gripes about that unit? the reviews on cabelas and bps aren't too great =/
  24. I'd second the Zoom trick worm
  25. Been looking at FFer's saw this Humminbird PiranhaMAX 240 TriBeam Sonar, the tribeam caught my attention, but is it just an advertising gimmick or does it actually work? What do you guys think about this unit verses others in that 140 price range? Thanks!
