Tube fishing for largemouth
Denny Brauer won a Classic flipping a tube. We used to pitch flippin tubes before beaver baits came out.

Diawa tatula ct vs tatula sv tsw
I own Diawas in Tatula CT, Tatula CT Type R, Tatula 100 and a couple of Tatula SV's. The SV stands apart due to the spool design. They can be had for about 135.00 if you shop hard. That for me is a no brainer. No disrespect to BassKicker42 but Quantum pros transitioned to Lews because of their Strike King affiliation and corporate pressure. Lews also provides a quality product.

Looking for a dedicated frog and pitching rod
Dobyns 735C. You pick the series based on your budget but 735C is the length and power that covers BOTH your applications equally well.

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
My wife is like a sleuth. She looks in the recycle receptacle and sees assorted TW boxes and a large bag of hook bonnets and comes in and says, " Doug.......what did you buy?" Then I show her the six Joann's Fabric receipts and respond, " a couple things." It's all about balance.

Ball Jig Heads vs Guppy Heads for Swimbaits
I don't throw anything smaller than a 3.25 and fats do well with a 3/0 for me. A 2/0 would be fine but I just haven't had an issue with a 3/0 size.

How Long Before Traditional Plastics Are No More?
I totally agree with Tom. Washington and Oregon would enact that law in a heart beat. The lack of recognition for warm water species as relevant game fish in both states already exists. Still, I don't see it happening in my life time. Should I stalk up on Rage Bugs ? BTW: my spent plastics and or bite offs never go in the lake or river.

BPT / MLF Format Rules Needs To Change !!
I DVR the events and blow through everything except the actual on the water footage. The event on Conroe was actually the most enjoyable to watch to date. The format makes it a challenge to learn from what the competitors are doing but I still managed to pick up some good information. I feel for the Marshall that is assigned to Iconelli's boat. I would be interested on how many camera men Iconelli has shoved overboard when he sprints the length of the boat on a hook set.

New the board, REALLY need good advice here!
the mentioned baits have little or no resistance so there is no need for any torque in the gear ratio so a 7 something will not be a disadvantage.

Shimano Ci4+ vs Daiwa LT spinning reel
Both reels will do you well. I own both Shimano and Diawa spinning reels and like them both. I just prefer 3000 series reels and T grips. There is no bad choice here. Lucky boy.

Crankbaits for the coming year, suggestions.
This is close to what my suggestion would have been. Just be aware the Cloud 9-C15 weighs an ounce. Be aware that bait model almost requires it's own rod. Other than that, 6th Sense has quickly become one of two of may favorite brands for crankbaits. A substitution to the c-15 is the Normans NSX. This bait gets little attention but is a winner. Still on sale !

cranking for footballs
The only thing I can mention is you are limiting yourself in a specific depth zone. For smallmouth, the 6 to 14 feet zone is prime. If you have that much confidence in the DT series, add a DT 10 or deeper and those fish that aren't looking up might come into play. Other than plastics, I've caught more smallmouth on a Normans Deep Little N that any other bait. Nice fish!

Looking for a heavy rod
Dobyns Fury 805 Heavy Flip and Punch. It's balanced, not tip heavy and has an action that is specifically to address the use of braid. With a bait weight cap of 2.5 ounces it's right where you want to be. Super rod for the money.

What do you have to force yourself to do in 2020?
I need to take the time to use my electronics more. I become impatient and want to start casting when another twenty minutes of looking may mean a good day and a great day. I'm also going to force myself to sell off about a third of my tackle. I have way too much.

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
I was extremely disciplined this shopping season and, in spite of the black Friday, TW 25 Days sale and all the other promotions, only picked up the items I really need..........or want.......or am intrigued with........or caught my eye as unique..... or know A-Jay has some and don't want to be left out. That's all I got in the five boxes. Now you know why my grand kids are spoiled.

Black crankbaits
We used to (late 70's) paint a Spence Scout black and hang a tiny white grub off the tail treble hook and throw it when it was cloudy and stormy and work pre emerged pad flats and catch a lot of fish.

Had News Years dinner with friends ( and watched Oregon win the Rose Bowl ) and shot this from the kitchen window. The rainbow and the American flag waving just seemed cool to me. Ahhhhh. MUch easier to view and less neck strain.
