  1. You get get foam golf balls at a sporting goods store that will plug the scuppers. I think you can get s pack for around $3 vs $15 or $20 for some scupper plugs. I use foam gold balls and they don't let any water in
  2. You just need some rope and you can make your own stringer. Tie the rope through the first trouts fills so it doesn't fall off then thread the rope through the gills and mouth of every fish after that. if I'm going to keep the trout I'll put them on a stringer until the end of the day then gut them and put them on a bag then on ice or cook them if I'm camping.
  3. I just got the 7.9:1. All of my casting reels are 7:1 or higher, I just reel slower for cranks
  4. P-line tactical fluorocarbon is buy one get one free at twcklewarehouse. I put one in my cart and it's actually 50% off if you buy just one. You don't have to buy two spools
  5. This thread is useless without pics
  6. I only use a leader when I fish a lake that has 10+ feet of visibility. You could always tie a leader on and when you get a good bite going cut it off and see if the bite dies off. If you are fishing an area with jagged rocks or zebra muscles you will want to use a leader. Braid gets ripped up dragging through rough rocks
  7. If it's void it will say something like "you can't combine multiple sale offers" after you try to apply it.
  8. that code worked for me on monday. you probably can't use the code on top of the 25% off on the classic items
  9. Spider wire is alright but I like power pro more. I feel like power pro has a rounder strand while spiderwire is flatter making it a little harder to pass through small hook eyes when tying a palomar knot. I use 10 and 15 pound braid for my spinning rods. Spool half of the reel with mono then put on the braid. This way you will get two or three reels out of one package
  10. I joust bought some invizx two days ago. I'll probably still do this deal and then I'll have line for a year or two
  11. Now is the time to get some cheap money minnows if you like yum swim baits
  12. I didn't see Trokar hooks on sale st my dicks but live target lures were $5 if you bought three or more. Live target frogs at booyah pad crasher prices are hard to pass up
  13. I fished them this weekend and didn't see my catch rate change. I was catching fish on the trd. I switched to the tubez and caught fish then switched back to the trd and still caught fish. The trd weigh a little more and are easier to cast. I probably won't buy another pack of tubez but don't regret buying a pack to try
  14. Chuck Norris noodles for sharks i also also had a 20 fish day yesterday on the end rig. I would find a school of fish up shallow and pull out three or four from each school. None of the Ned rig fish were over two pounds but it was a nice change after only one fish all day last time I was out
  15. i keep a shakespeare agility in my truck at a beater rod
  16. #2 hayabusa drop shot hooks. The hooks are extra light wire making them the sharpest hooks around. If a fish stays on for longer than a second it makes it to the boat
  17. My sample pack came in the mail today, I received two 4/0 standard gauge offset wide gap hooks. I'll fish them tomorrow but so far I'm not that impressed. Out of the package the hooks aren't that sharp. I should be able to drag the hook over my fingernail with light pressure and the hook should scratch or stick in my nail. Out of the package these hooks don't do this. My sister who doesn't know enough about fishing to know what makes a hook good or not picked one up as I was looking at them and the first thing she said was "these things aren't even sharp"
  18. You could put in a lighter recoil or mainspring and see if that makes it easier to rack the slide
  19. I'll use spike it for the color more so than the scent. I'm not sure of the effectiveness of scents that aren't water soluble. If the scent makes water bead up on your bait or leaves an oil slick on the surface, I would pass on it.
  20. I was fishing in shorts, sandals and short sleeves on Saturday and it snowed on Sunday. I felt like I was in the Midwest with the big temperature swing. Luckily I should be in shorts again next weekend
  21. In the past they have done a "tax stimulus" but I think that sale is in April
  22. Skip the down imaging and get the regular piranha max, I had one and never used the down imaging. The 2d sonar shows enough detail that I could find fish and figure out what type of structure was on the bottom without the down imaging. You need a bigger display with more pixels and a stronger unit if you want down imaging to be useful. It's a nice fish finder for the money, but I quickly upgraded to a helix 5 when I found one for a good price. The Piranha max also uses close to zero power, I think it's only 250 milliamps
  23. Pop the weight out of the pocket frog and put some split shot in the body or bb's then glue the weight back in. the added weight will make it a little easier to cast and the bb's also act as a rattle if rattling baits are your thing
  24. How coarse is your file?
  25. Stretch them a bit and run them under the sink or fish them like a senko and they will loose their salt
