  1. I've got some bad poison ivy as a result of fishing with shorts on and not being careful where I walked. If any of you get poison ivy really bad like I do, I found some pretty good stuff to help alleviate the itchiness. It's a spray which is nice because spreading gel or lotion on bad poison ivy just plan feels gross. It cools and kind of numbs the itching. It also seems to dry it out pretty well. Anybody else have any good treatments?
  2. The place we are going definitely has some nice fish, hopefully we can get them to bite.
  3. Are you talking about soft swimbaits, little swimbaits, or "real" swimbaits ie: big wooden/plastic baits bigger than 6"?
  4. Thanks for having me Thai. That was a good day of bass fishing. We'll take another shot at those snakeheads sometime. It's not like they're going anywhere : David, we were not in Dogue Creek. We were in the creek where you and I met up and fished. (the one where we met, not Pohick)
  5. what about verizon? I've had great coverage through verizon
  6. That is why I always save my old phones when I upgrade. It is too expensive to replace a phone mid-way through the contract. Robby, wireless phone companies are completely crazy. There are different prices, terms, agreements, blah, blah, blah all over the place. I think your best option would be to pick out some phones and then go into an at&t store or kiosk and ask about the pricing. Either that or give them a call. I suspect if you are in the middle of a contract then it will be cheaper to buy a used phone off ebay and get it assigned to your account (number) but you never know with these crazy rules and crap they have.

  8. I've been told they are something like Tilapia but I'll let you know how I think they taste if we catch some.
  9. You know my number. Don't be afraid to come over and say hey.
  10. nope, no tow hitch but I'll stretch before I head down there.
  11. Of course I'm jumping on it!! If someone offered a trip for musky I'd jump on that too! I MUST cross this species off of my "Fish-to-catch" list. I'm going to bring a cooler and some ice.
  12. The hits didn't look particularly vicious. It was almost as if the bass didn't want to eat it but instead were just curious about what the heck it was.
  13. that is probably the most bizarre looking bait I have ever seen. And the rod that guy is using in the video looked like a piece of wet spaghetti.
  14. Didn't we have a bunch of threads about this like 2 months ago? Maybe you were on vacation Rooster? ;D
  15. I would be concerned about the warranty after getting other people to work on it as well. Also, with St Croix you can ship your rod for $10 if you use FedEx.
  16. I'm in! Are you going to be fishing earlier? It would be easier for me to come down that way earlier in the day to beat the rush hour. What should I bring?
  17. probably. There are enough spots to fish along the way that we should be able to separate and have plenty of rooms. Are you planning on fly-fishing?
  18. two hours or so. If you go west towards Culpeper and then south on Rt. 29/Rt.15 to I-64 it will be quicker than going from Fredericksburg back to Richmond and then west on 64 from there.
  19. Nope, we don't get real big smallies around me. I've caught a lot of largemouth with a 7" Slammer just this summer and I think with their aggressive nature it would be a great way to catch big smallmouth that are actively feeding on the surface and even some that aren't. The undulating action and noise of a true swimbait can really be a fish magnet. If you're targeting BIG fish then it's worth a try.
  20. Why not fish a real swimbait? When the topwater bite is on I'd be willing to bet that a big smallmouth would be just as willing to hit a big wake bait as it would be to hit a big spook or something.
  21. I think focusing more on artificials is a good idea. Chances are you will get more frustrated but it will also be more rewarding. If you are specifically targeting big fish, why not allot some time for swimbaits?
  22. please don't. just kidding, congrats dude.
  23. just get drunk and wing it.
  24. lol, someone is lost. :
