  1. I believe In-Fisherman airs on the Outdoor channel more often than on WFN. Honestly, WFN is A LOT of saltwater and fly fishing. If you like that stuff, then go for it, otherwise, you're not going to get bass all the time.
  2. I think he might mean 700. The SPS is probably the best on your list. Stay away from the 770. Personally, I like Savage firearms. The fit me well and I like synthetic because it stands up to the way I hunt. Agreed, about the 770. They feel pretty cheap to me. Same with the Savage Edge/Axis. The Savages with the accutriggers are pretty nice.

Does PA require a course to obtain a hunting license? For junior hunters, yes. I believe that once you are 18, they do not require you to have it. You can just show up with a driver's license and purchase one. On your other post, we also fill out an additional form whenever someone purchases a handgun (one form for each pistol). We call it the PSP (PA State Police) form as it is sent to them after the sale. Yeah, that's similar to our VA form except we have to do it for all guns.
  4. What do you mean by "they have taken over"?
  5. Savages would be either the Model 110, 111, 114 or 116. The 111 has the lowest MSRP. I believe the long actions (30-06) will all have 3 digits.

The one thing that I dislike about Virginia is the state form they make you fill out in ADDITION to the federal 4473. It also adds a requirement for a second form of ID at the time of purchase that none of our surrounding states require. As a dealer, it makes things a lot more complicated for our customers (and me for that matter)
  8. AFAIK, you can't get the Model 7 CDL in 30-06 or any other long actions.
  9. I'm curious to see if the snakeheads have actually caused any major changes to the ecosystems or if this is all hysterical gloom and doom like the media put out up here ~10 years ago.

ahh, gotcha. I started reading the exemptions and most had to do with LEOs or lost guns so I stopped reading.

I'm curious about that, because in VA you can't buy more than one handgun within 30 days without an exception. How'd you manage that Rowland?
  12. Wow, from the thread title I was expecting something much more controversial.
  13. Out of those two, I'd get the Remington, but keep your eyes open for a deal on something nicer as well.

  15. x2. That was moronic and pathetic. She's lucky he didn't shoot her in the face.
  16. I have a GIANT spinnerbait made by Dave's Tournament Tackle. All I gotta say is make sure you use the right equipment with big spinnerbaits like that. I tried throwing mine on a standard setup and got tired after 10 minutes.
  17. !Read these articles! http://myfwc.com/docs/WildlifeHabitats/Nonnative_FW_Snakehead.pdf http://www.floridawildlifemagazine.com/pdfs/may08-peacockBass.pdf That first article echoes exactly what I've been saying about snakeheads all year. The second one just describes how the FWC took a gamble against the law of unintended consequences and happened to make out alright.
  18. Something that will be included next year. Yeah, I'm just thinking some parents might not appreciate a random person from the internet sending their kid a christmas present...
  19. From what I've read, the bullseye snakeheads have a narrow water temperature tolerance as well, unlike the northern snakehead that we have up here that can survive ice out. The reason why I'm so antagonistic about the FLA snakehead "problem" is that I know with the snakehead situation we have up here there was a lot of talk about the sky falling when they were first discovered and everyone said all of the same things that you all are saying BUT nothing of the like has happened so far.
  20. Did we say anything about the minors getting their parents' permission to participate?
  21. That's what I don't get. Introducing non-native species is a huge risk no matter WHO does the stocking.
  22. Who introduced them? Why would they introduce a non-native predator?
  23. So it's bad when the invasive peacocks die, but according to some FLA members it's good when invasive snakeheads die?
