why do these threads always turn into prohibition debates?

not another alcohol thread
did it come with tampons or do you have to buy them separately? just kidding. I've heard it's good but I don't know how I'd feel about mixing honey with whiskey

Pit Bull #1 public enemy ?
Hence the stigma. 44% of the traffic fatalities in SC involve alcohol. With your logic we should ban the sale of alcohol in SC? That wouldn't go over too well with residents Ummm....my logic? I was just pointing out that they get the stigma from facts and studies like Micro mentioned. I'd be interested to hear the stats on the percentages of ownership though

WOW WHAT A PLASTIC!
Burley, that surprises me. I used to fish their "Sinkin' Salty Shads" EXTENSIVELY and they were soft as hell. The only reason I stopped fishing them was because they ripped up too easily. The Sinkin' Salty Shad was probably my favorite plastic jerkbait because they don't float as much as a fluke or other jerkbaits so it's easier to get them done a little in the water column. For those of you who are arguing for the senko: the specific bait that the OP is talking about is NOT a traditional stick bait. It is tapered at both ends.

The Potomac
There are some places where people will commonly wade in the tidal section but as Vekol said, in most places that goo makes it more of a hassle than it's worth.
-
The Potomac
It all depends on what you are fishing for and where you are fishing. Upper Potomac is very wadeable in most areas. Almost all of DC is not wadeable. Tidal Potomac is wadeable in some areas but made a little difficult by the mucky bottom. The Upper Potomac (above Great Falls) is rocky and mostly shallow with some deeper holes. The DC portion (below Little Falls and above WW Bridge) is deeper...up by Fletcher's Cove and Chain Bridge the channel varies from 30 to nearly 80 ft deep. The tidal Potomac below the WW Bridge is very shallow. Besides the river channel, it's mostly less than 10' deep. The shallow water also makes the tidal section VERY, VERY, VERY vegetative. In the summer the lower river is absolutely full of weeds. It is a fantastic place to fish frogs.

What I do at work
Foam earplugs typically have a higher Noise Reduction Rating than lots of ear muff style hearing protection. You roll the foam ones up tightly between thumb and forefinger and insert them in your ears. As the foam relaxes it conforms to the shape of your ear canal. yep, surprisingly the ones I've seen normally have a NRR of 30 while typical (at least for shooting) ear muff hearing protectors have NRR in the high 20s. Given that decibels are a logarithmic measurement instead of linear, that can be a substantial difference.

Snakeheads?
release it, kill it, doesn't matter. As far as I've heard it's not actually illegal to release them, only to possess them. Either way, it's not going to do anything to curb their presence in the Potomac. When I catch one I kill it and throw it on ice. They are pretty good eating.

Shaw Grigsby Series????

Benelli M4 shotgun.
I'd just get a Supernova for 1/4 the price. I never really understood the purpose of a semi-auto shotgun for home defense. Pump's are nice because sometimes the noise alone is a deterrent. The Supernova is also available with ghost ring sights.

That's an interesting take on one of my favorite songs.

new gun
For defense I would and do choose a pistol. A shotgun looks good but is way to cumbersome and unwieldy to use for defense. It's perfect for home defense though. Biggest plus, IMO, is that if you miss and your shot enters a wall the person sleeping on the other side of that wall is alot more likely to walk away.A shotgun blast at self-defense range is also MUCH more powerful than a single projectile as well. With multiple projectiles spreading out in a pattern, you are also more likely to hit your target in a stressful situation. Many (if not most) may not be able to control a pistol in that situation. Make sure you are using the right load for home defense, bubba. As for lots of little projectiles flying around, I guess you need to decide what you want to do...stop the threat or tick them off so they leave. Bottom line, people need to decide what they want to do and what is best for their home defense and then research appropriate ammo and become proficient with the firearm, including but not limited to an attack/defense plan, weapon proficiency, stress shooting, tactical movements, and escape planning. Sure, I spend my weekends practicing tactical movements. ;D

If it's a stream, I hold the bottle horizontal. If it's a mist, I just hold the bottle straight up and down.

check out their early stuff. Chulahoma, Rubber Factory. Thickfreakness, The Big Come Up, and Magic Potion are really good albums.
