  1. They won't advertise them in sales circulars but the sign on the reel in the display case will show the current price (the one that ends in the .97) and then there SHOULD be a sign near the reels advertising additional 50% off clearance tackle. I'll check the prices tomorrow to see if the 50% off clearance is still going on.
  2. Let me ask you guys this; when you say the reels weren't an additional 50% off, is that based on the price for which they rang up at the register or just based on the sign on the reel?
  3. I believe so but I will double check tomorrow.
  4. Like the other guys said, the main ramp shouldn't be a problem. I've seen a fiberglass boat launch from the VDGIF launch by the dam.
  5. Wow, that looks amazing. I have had mine pre-ordered for a while, now it's just a matter of waiting.
  6. The Shimanos should not be full price. You should go back and ask the associate to verify the price for you.The displayed price probably does not match the actual current price in the system. Sometimes the prices drop without the employees knowing it so the old signs stay up until someone happens to find the mistake.
  7. Yep, the older model Shimanos are being cleared out since Shimano is replacing them. Being on clearance gives them a .97 cent ending. Right now my store is having an additional 50% off clearance tackle and it seems other stores are as well. If your local store doesn't have any of the clearance reels, ask an associate if they can call another store in their district to get one transferred.
  8. weights were about 6#,9#, and 5# respectively. All were caught on rage tail toads if I recall correctly. They were caught in various shallow creeks off the Potomac. I caught them all in shallow water choked by weeds or lilies. They all hit the bait with a vengeance but after that not much more than a few seconds of fight. Probably gonna be a while before tackle gets marked down to clearance. It only happens once a year now. If it works like last year, we'll have an additional sale from the clearance prices late in the year.
  9. Here are a few that I've caught this summer.
  10. I haven't noticed if it floats or not but it is the only braid I've used so far that has memory
  11. So.....is this going to share the characteristics of dental floss like the other 8-strands I've tried?
  12. I don't understand why this guy from Cote D'Ivoire is still responding. Why doesn't he just change his email address?
  13. Some of the ones I've caught barely fought at all. It's very strange. Sometimes they run, I've seen them jump, but other times they just roll on their side like a walleye.
  14. Ordered mine on the 4th. Still no package, although TW often takes 10 days to get to me (but at least they give me a tracking number)
  15. They are great if fished on a EWG like a fluke. I've also caught fish using them as scrounger trailers.
  16. That is a big one! I've caught 2 so far this year. I've seen probably 3 times that many in my recent trips and also missed a couple on the hookset.
  17. My technical drawing teacher told me about these machines about 6-7 years ago. CAD designers use them to print out models of their drawings for different mechanical pieces. Very cool stuff.
  18. ummm, I'd hit it.

  20. It could very easily be a greenie, I jumped to rock bass because I've seen them caught there before but it shares characteristics of a greenie as well. Me and a friend went out on Burke at night last weekend and caught a few fish. He caught a ~4lb and I caught a dink and a ~2lber on the back side of the island. Saw several other boats fishing in the dark as well.
  21. That "yellow perch" looks an awful lot like a rock bass
  22. Maybe you should stick with the non-glass lenses.
  23. You could easily launch and fish several of the creeks on the Potomac that hold large amounts of snakeheads. First off I would suggest Pohick, Occoquan, and Mattawoman. All have launches that you could use to fish areas that have lots of snakeheads and are protected enough for you to use your boat without having to fish the main river which could be a bit much for a 15hp outboard. I've seen a picture of an 18lb+ NSH caught out of Pohick. As for the white perch, they are abundant during the spring run but other than that I don't think they stick around the river too much. I am a huge fan of catching white perch but most of the time I fish for them in saltwater/brackish water in creeks off the bay.
