As study has shown that Wikipedia is almost as accurate as the Encyclopedia Britannica It is not considered a credible source, by any university, as it can be easily edited with false documentation. This is true for St.Johns, GWU,Johns Hopkins and NYU, those are the ones I know for sure. If it is not good enough for accredited and highly respected Universities, it is not good enough for me to accept as proof of a counterpoint. Yeah I'm pretty sure Dan knows this... The point is that Wikipedia can most likely be trusted. I think Dan can speak for himself and it is not a reputable soucre, period. Of course I know that. If I could have used wikipedia for the scores of papers I wrote in the last four years it would have made things a lot easier for me. Academics don't like to allow it as a source because it is publicly generated and edited, meaning there could be errors in it. The thing is, most academics don't know how accurate most of Wikipedia really is. They don't like it because they think there COULD be errors because of the way it is made. Also, they usually want students to be able to show research skills beyond what they find on the internet. But I've read about multiple studies that show that wikipedia is actually quite accurate, especially the stuff about science and math. Would I allow it as a source if I were a professor? No, because it is too easy and there is a small chance the information COULD be wrong, despite those studies. But to say something like FOX is comparable to Wikipedia is ridiculous. There is a stereotype about FOX that has been generated by people that think anything that comes from them is wrong and can be written off as inaccurate because of its source instead of its content. This FOX29 sounds like a local news station. I think they would be pretty trustworthy, at least if this "story" is actually true. Someone might have just used their name to make sure the story sounded legit. I really doubt the part about the $10k is correct.
  2. the TT looks like a key chain. It is TINY.
  3. I can probably find some of those. There are some stores nearby that have some pretty eclectic selections.

Legally, they can stay as long as they make it to land. They made it to land, therefore they are legal... As study has shown that Wikipedia is almost as accurate as the Encyclopedia Britannica
  5. I don't like tracking. Just tell me when the package will get to me and I am fine. I find that if I can track packages I end up getting more anxious as I wait for the package and I start to check where the package is every day. That is especially painful when I order from *** and I have to watch my package sit in Cerritos, CA for days...
  6. I could really care less for the GT series. I know MGS is a renowned series but I never got into playing them that much. Does it even have multiplayer? And one word. Halo. I'm pretty sure it was the best selling shooter of all time until COD4 came out (and COD4 is available for more platforms so that gives it an advantage)
  7. Yeah, Chrome is a good browser but I just couldn't give up Firefox. Safari is actually really good as well. I think Safari might be a bit more like FF than Chrome but that is only from the limited experience I have with Chrome.

Come on guys, of course there are good things about Detroit, it's just a city that has suffered in recent years and its problems make it the butt of some jokes. Is it fair? Maybe not, but I don't think anyone was really saying it's a horrible place that is good for nothing. If you have read any of Sam's posts you know a lot of the stuff he says is in jest. And Muddy, I know what you mean about Philly. Those are some rough fans (for all of their sports teams). Not many people would boo Santa Clause but in Philadelphia.... ;D offtopic, but I think Pujols is a great guy. He does some great stuff for children with disabilities (he married a woman with a child with down syndrome--she was hesitant to tell Albert about her kid when they met because she thought he would run off but he was completely gung-ho about meeting and providing for the kid)
  9. i love the grill. very nice truck, FC

Yeah but talking about a city's hockey fans isn't exactly like berating the city, especially if they actually did that stuff. Sam's a kidder, everyone knows that.
  11. what if they are Mike Iaconelli with his Daiwa Steez? What if it is an angler with the same knowledge and experience as you? What happens with your Zebco breaks? A higher quality reel is going to help you fish more efficiently, comfortably, and longer. If everything else was constant, the higher quality reel will catch more fish overall.
  12. It's a turkey. ;D

I don't know why this turned into a thread about how Detroit doesn't suck or about Detroit music...obviously the city has had a rough time lately but I'd still like to go there. I didn't see the booing or anything but just be glad we don't live in England with all those soccer fans. Our fans are amateurs when compared with soccer hooligans.
  14. XBOX live might not be free but I've heard it absolutely destroys the PS3's online features. South FLA, what PS3 specific games are you talking about? I haven't seen anything that PS3 offers that XBOX doesn't except for that Infamous game and Killzone. Have you ever played Halo 1, 2, or 3? Easily some of the best shooters EVER (proven by their immense sales records)

I'm just saying there must be good stuff from within the last couple of decades, right?
  16. try what he said but it that doesn't work, you could try Safari (made by Apple) or Chrome (made by google) as alternatives to IE
  17. lol, I agree 100% actually. It tastes pretty close to the non-diet version.

all those things from more than 20-30 years ago?
  19. wait, what are we talking about here? What are the penguins? What did they win? 8-)
  20. Is 100yds even possible? That is a whole football field. I'm trying to visualize from one endzone looking to the other and it just seems like that would be way beyond possibility. Or maybe I'm just bad at casting...

I never plan on robbing a bank. I would just rather not have my fingerprints on file. but why not? Unless you are a criminal it won't make any difference...

I've heard that too but my mom's dad went bald in his early twenties. I am 22 and I haven't seen an recession at all. As far as cutting your own hair, it gets more complicated when you start doing different lengths but if you just stick to the same length for the whole head then it's incredible easy. I don't think there is an "i lost mine just like he lost his clause" My overall hair looks just like my dad's. High hairline, etc. My grandpa lost his hair in his early twenties. (i'll be thirty this year) My hair is thinning slightly in the front; my dad's is still growing strong. Maybe i'll split the difference and lose all mine by 40......or maybe not. Don't know. b Nah, it is exactly the same. If my mom's dad went bald when he was 20, I am safe because I am 22. That's the way it is. I'm safe. No reason to worry. :-/

I had to get my fingerprints taken and recorded by the VA state police when I worked at a sporting goods store because I was selling firearms. Why do you care if they keep your fingerprints? Are you planning on robbing a bank next month?

  25. I think Shimano's brakes and casting controls are the easiest to learn on. You made an excellent choice and I'm glad you got the hang of it so quickly.
