or serves a purpose, like for remembering directions to dry land. +1 to anyone who gets the reference...
  2. there is a video at the end from the NBC4 broadcast. It says their boat malfunctioned.
  3. You can try to hassle with bass pro, they might help you out. If that fails, send it back to St Croix. Even if it was your fault, you can get a replacement for $50 last time I checked. -from St Croix's Service and Warranty page
  4. Is it just me or is that last one tall and lanky like a cross country runner?
  5. yeah, like 10 out of the 15 are in the South...I'm not really that surprised by it though.
  6. The rumors I have heard about Mercer were about Pike, not pickerel. But to be honest, I don't put a whole lot of stock into those rumors because those fish are easy to mix up by people who aren't knowledgeable about fish so they could have seen a pick and thought it was a pike and then started the rumor incorrectly.
  7. I was just picturing flipping into some cover like a christmas tree or something like that, getting snagged, and winching the whole thing right up...ha!
  8. x2. I fish dark water like low light.
  9. I'm not gonna lie I've seen every episode but the only part I really want to see is the last 20 minutes when he actually goes fishing and catches the targeted fish. They really stretch that show out and make it longer than necessary in order to fill the whole hour. I agree about Larry Dahlberg, that guys is a heck of a fisherman. Those wolf fish he catches are some scary dudes.
  10. LMAO! that is harsh dude that's great 1instripes, I'm sure you were bursting with pride.
  11. seems like a great idea. I like how the snell knot effectively turns the eye into a bait keeper. The only thing I would be concerned about with that strong of a hook is if you are using heavy line for flipping and get snagged on a piece of wood or something you are liable to pull the whole tree up before the hook bends or breaks or the line snaps!
  12. isn't there an $8million prize for the next world record from some private organization? Screw the naysayers, I would want that money too bad! Not mention the sponsorships and whatnot.
  13. Included the Lone Star state of Texas. Where do you think the next Texas record bass will come out of? WRB You stated no bass in the past 75 years over 17 lbs have been reported in those states, to the best of my knowledge. I answered with five over 17 lbs from Texas You answered Included the Lone Star state of Texas. Where do you think the next Texas record bass will come out of? My question what the heck that mean? Perry's bass was weighted on certified scales and verified by 2 witnesses "Potential places where a new record could be swimming; Arizona, California, Texas, Louisiana, Florida, Cuba, Japan, South Africa and Mexico. Didn't mention Georgia or Alabama, no bass in the past 75 years over 17 lbs have been reported in those states (meaning Georgia or Alabama), to the best of my knowledge. WRB."
  14. Well said, Dom. I agree 100%. People are very quick to neglect the importance of personal responsibility these days, but poverty, education, and upbringing are all very important and often interconnected as well.
  15. Mercer from what I've heard. Yeah, I was leaning towards Mercer but wasn't sure.
  16. Robocraws, 5" PB power hawg, and lately the PB burly bug
  17. Actually, I've heard that either Mercer of Huntsman has northerns but I can't remember which one.

  19. then you're not allowed in the club
  20. another vote for the oven technique.
  21. that's it? we have three people playing COD4 now?
  22. Is that illegal at L. Fairfax? It's legal to take out trout in season, but honestly, I don't know if it's illegal to take out bass. I personally am a catch and release angler. So they were taking bass legally? I just don't want to confuse the catch and release debate with the legal vs. illegal debate involving actual laws (creel limits, nets, spears, etc...)
  23. terrible, but with over a million views she is gonna get tons of internet money
  24. fish can have weird physical characteristics from mutations, old injuries, or just strange behavior. I caught a smallie one time that was missing half of its upper jaw...could have been an injury or a mutation, who knows.
