  1. I would think anywhere between 1000 and 2500 could be used for dropshotting, depending on what line is being used. For your case with 6-8lb test, I would probably stick with a 1500-2500 sizes.
  2. 10 lb seguar invizx on a 4000 size spinning reel gave me no issues what so ever.or try cajun red cast mono. I don't really consider a 4000 size reel "for bass"
  3. i think the one at ocracoke is solid white. I believe the one at hatteras has black and white stripes like that.
  4. I don't usually fish Burke anymore because of all the fishing pressure so I can't really help you. Send me a PM if you want directions to some other lakes in that area.
  5. I have both and I GREATLY prefer the E
  6. is that Hatteras? I've only ever been to the one at Corolla.
  7. Wait, so you want a new reel that is 6.3:1? Then that is an easy decision: the Citica is a 6.2:1 and the Curados are only offered in 5.0:1 and 7.0:1 There are still tons of new Curado D's out there that are 6.?.1 true. I don't know why but I didn't even think about the possibility of buying older models.
  8. might want to check your directions before you leave for Greentop and Bass Pro. They are in Ashland, not Ashlawn. ;D
  9. The only skin care products I use are Dial soap and: They also make a moisturizer. As a barbershop classic since the 1930s, using it won't make you girly. It's kind of pricey though.

  11. I would never dream of using 10lb fluoro on any spinning reel. That is too heavy and too coily of line to use on a spinning rod for bass IMHO.
  12. Don't worry about it Andrew, I understand you have work and I didn't tell you until like a week in advance. Sure, I'd be interested in light tackle stripers. I need to shuffle some rod/reel combos around though. I can't take my Fuego or Kistler in brackish water. I'll need to put my Citica on my Gblank and that will have to do. Slomoe: the charter was called Hook Mash Charters and the Captain is Stu Burgoon. He is somehow related to the other two guys that we went with. I thought they were pretty good. I think they only do group trips but I'm not sure. They managed to get us on 10 fish between the four of us but that doesn't happen everytime. Trolling seems to be a good form of fishing if you are goofing around with friends. I think it would be most fun with a bunch of friends, driving around the ocean and drinking beer. It isn't a very involved way to fish. As far as the actual fishing goes, you pretty much get handed a rod and told to crank in the fish. The captain and crew do all the rest of the work. That kind of took some of the fun out of it for me. I felt like I didn't really do anything. Don't get me wrong, it was still great to catch those big fish but I would prefer to be more involved in the whole process if I could. Simon, lmao, I can picture our rods snapping in half when we try to pull an umbrella rig with them, haha!
  13. We never weighed them. The largest was 39" inches. One of the guys on the boat was suggesting live-lining in the summer. He said it was a lot of fun. I think it sounds awesome.
  14. ok, thanks fellas. It doesn't apply to me because I have digital cable, I just wanted to know how it all works.
  15. We launched out of Deale, MD. The trip included my dad, a guy he works with, and his son. Two father-son combos. We were trolling umbrella? rigs with planer boards? to spread them out. We landed the first fish within about 10 minutes but then had about an hour and 45 minutes of no action. Then we boated two immediately, including a nice 39". Then a bunch of lines started going off. We ended up with 10 fish total between the four of us (we could each only keep one though). I have never been trolling before. My arm is KILLING me. It seemed like everytime I was handed a rod I was hooked up with another rig or had something fouled. One time I was working on a rig and pulled it up to find out there were two other lines tangled in it AND a fish on my rig. The other guys were making fun of me for having so much trouble reeling in my fish until they realized that I was bringing in tangled messes both times. The third fish I landed was the only fish that I landed that wasn't tangled with other lines or rigs and by the time I caught it, my arms were already tired. I had a lot of fun. Trolling isn't my favorite way to fish but you can't argue with results... Anyway, here are some pictures. our rigs my dad with a striper a double for the other guys the striper I kept same striper same striper all of our fish filets from one of our fish. a short fish that had to be released.

nice. Are you stocking the trapped fish in your tank for food or as additions to the tank? and yeah, it was pretty awesome. Who knew a praying mantis would be so strong. It absolutely decimated the newt which was about 3/4 its own size.
  17. I thought the same thing. The ground in that pic looks like dried chocolate pudding... Would the deep trenches be for catching and holding water perhaps?
  18. ok, thanks. I think I understand now. So as long as someone has a newer tv set and a UHF antennae, they will be able to receive the new digital channels after the transition?
  19. The Kistler Magnesium is a different line of rods than the LTA. The LTAs are more expensive but use higher quality components. An LTA would be lighter than a Magnesium but the Magnesiums are a great rod for a great price. I think you will be happy with the Kistler. I have heard very good things about their customer service. Apparently they are willing to replace rods a lot more than their warranty would suggest. If worse comes to worse, I think you can get your rod replaced for like $50. That is similar to St Croix's warranty. That is just from what I have heard, I have never dealt with their customer service before because my Magnesium flipping stick is pretty new and I haven't had any problems with it yet. I was handling that Magnesium you ordered in a Gander Mountain today. I don't know for sure but I would be willing to bet that it is lighter than the Mojo. Probably much more sensitive also.
  20. So the UHF channels were previously used to carry analog signals? but after the transition they will switch to only carrying digital channels?

what kind of traps are you using Dave? I caught a newt like that just much smaller and fed it to our pet praying mantis this year. that was pretty cool.
  22. Thats just not the Hank Hill way there Shackleford. I can probably bum a goat and chain it up. If Tommy will just move it around throughout the week since I would have done my part, you should be good. Just watch your step. lol, as I was reading this thread I was thinking about Hank giving Bobby a wet stone for his birthday so he could start sharpening mower blades to work his way up to being able to mow the lawn...
