I love day games, but...
sucks to get sunburned. I can only remember getting burned once in my lifetime and I hardly ever wear sunscreen. I don't know where it comes from but me and my twin brother are naturally pretty brown for white guys born in Central PA.

Help me understand Fore Grip Length for spinning rods
I used to grip the reel seat between my middle and ring finger as well but ever since I got my new Cumara I feel more comfortable holding the reel seat between my pinky and ring finger or with my hand entirely in front of the reel seat. This allows me to hold the rod blank between my thumb and fore finger and I think that increases my ability to feel bites.

Swine flu- Question for Raul?
x2 Even with a mutated strain we would be more likely to find a faster way to treat it as well. Really? Kinda like curing AIDS? How is this comparable to AIDS? AIDS is ALWAYS fatal - swine flu (or avian flu or SARS for that matter) have pretty low mortality rates. Most people just get sick for a while then get better. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't most of the deaths associated with the flu attributable to people who have compromised immune systems or due to preventable causes like dehydration? I had always understood these types of diseases as highly infectious but pretty much only deadly to sick people or people who can't get basic health care treatments.

Swine flu- Question for Raul?
Raul, I understand that developments in transportation would increase the rate at which the flu spread and also the amount of affected people but what about the developments in medicine? Don't we also have better access and better techniques of health care? Wouldn't the mortality rate of 5% be lower now because more people can receive better treatment?

REVO that looks YUMMI !
x2. I don't really even like the red finish on my Fuego... I am definitely not a fan of the multi-color finish. And Raul, I'm pretty sure we'd all appreciate it if you would refrain from typing "YUMMI" EVER again. :-/ ;D

Computer Question?
I second the Bitdefender suggestion. It uses more system resources than AVG but it works much better. I've said it a thousand times but I'll say it again. Free antivirus software is never as good as the stuff you pay for. If you are smart, you can get away with the free stuff but be careful. As far as free programs with real-time system protection AVG is a good choice but I also suggest Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware. It is only an on-demand scanner but it finds a lot of stuff that other programs won't.

Beaverdam lake Virginia
my friend got bit by a copperhead on both legs while fishing there last year so if you do, be careful. I've never fished it though.

2009 Kistler Helium LTA Question
"Designed, engineered, inspected, and handcrafted" could mean that Kistler does exactly what ReelMech says. None of those verbs clearly say that the rod is made in America. "Handcrafted" could also mean "put together." It could be that they are designed and engineered in America, the pieces are made in China/Japan and then shipped to the US where they are inspected and put together by "hand." Companies choose ambiguous verbs on purpose to make people think their stuff is made in America.

Bruno Trailer
I just watched it. Looks pretty funny. I lol'd at the part when he sped into the street on the moped with a baby in his lap.

Moving to Norfolk VA
Congratulations on becoming a Virginian! ;D Accustom yourself to the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries website. Here is a link to the tidewater region map. I can see that it has 4 reservoirs or lakes listed for the City of Norfolk alone. I would imagine you are within driving distance of many more bodies of water as well.

Susan Boyle
Yes, it is the hype I am talking about. The video is being characterized as a frumpy lady who has a surprisingly amazing voice. I think it is surprising and good, but the video gives me no reason to call her amazing based on that one performance
-
Susan Boyle
Yeah, you're right. Mariah Carey is only famous because of music videos. It has nothing to do with her 5 octave range. Same with Whitney, it must just be the music videos. They made her voice better in "I Will Always Love You" and they even improved her performance of the Star Spangled Banner at Super Bowl 25....gimme a break.

Susan Boyle
I just don't think her voice is good enough to warrant all the attention, it's her looks that gets the attention and that's not right for a talent show. The show she sang for is a competition right? She will have to perform a lot more. I'll change my mind if she wins.

Think'n About a Kistler
I have a Magnesium and I love it. It is pretty light for a flippin stick and it is also very sensitive.
-
Susan Boyle
Do yourselves a favor. Go watch a youtube clip of Whitney Houston or Mariah Carey and tell me that this Susan Boyle lady has a voice that is good enough to warrant all this attention. Sure, they are trained professionals, but who cares? I think people are judging Susan Boyle by her story and appearance and making a big story out of her because she has lived the life and shows the physical traits of a soon to be "cat lady." The story is more about the surprise of her having a good voice while looking like she does than it is about her actually having an amazing singing voice. The story is more about her appearance than her voice.

Susan Boyle
Quite a few with no professional experience who spent quite a few years caring for an ailing mother who recently died and that walked out of a tiny little Scottish village, onto a stage and sang like that? I can't think of any. So it was the story that impressed you? All that is certainly impressive, but that is just the story. I was not extremely impressed with the actual singing talent. I think people are getting caught up in the great story, not the voice.

Any John Prine Fans?
"Oh, I've been thinking lately 'bout the people I meet, the carwash on the corner and the hole in the street." Yep, I'm a fan. I was introduced to Prine by a high school english teacher. My favorites are "Angel from Montgomery" and "Fish and Whistle"
