  1. "this tells us that the effects of stabbing are more physical than psychological" The funniest part is that some people spend lots of money to do tests that really are almost that stupid....
  2. so HD antennaes will not work?
  3. I don't think so. I thought the "transition" will only end the analog transmissions. There will still be HD transmissions that HD antennaes can receive as far as I know.
  4. That's too bad. Where are you staying? I know of a hole in Pine Island (up near Corolla) that would be perfect for you. It doesn't have any fish over 12" There is also another one up near Timbuktu that has some nice fish. I also know a couple holes near Avon (closer to Hatteras) that have some nice fish.
  5. you totally just jinxed yourself.
  6. Juneau annual rainfall 54.5" month of May 3.4" Seattle 37.2" May 1.7" Norton VA near where Burley lives 46.1" May 4.5" oh, snap! Who's whining now?!? ;D Those are surprising stats.
  7. if that is the OBX and you took some gear, I know where some nice ponds are...
  8. I think you will appreciate a higher quality rod for worms and soft plastics. Sensitivity is the most important for soft plastics and jigs. If you want to get a sensitive, high quality rod for any application it should be for soft plastics and/or jigs. well, for around $150 you can get a Kistler Magnesium TS. I really like the one I have. You would probably want the "All Purpose" (MgAPSMH69) or "Senko Special" (MgSWMH70) for what you want to do. The Avids are really nice rods also and I've heard really good things about the carrot sticks. It's a tough choice you have.
  9. higher modulus generally means more sensitivity. IM ratings are one way that rod makers use to measure modulus. IM6 has a lower modulus than IM10. BUT: IM ratings are not standardized. They mean different things for different companies. bigmountaineer, what application do you plan to be using the rod for?
  10. bizz already said it, but to add: I have heard that bass use eyes as targets for their strikes. If you think about it, it would be much easier for a bass to keep a baitfish in its mouth if it could get the head as opposed to the tail.

Guess what? My professor lost my exam. > Right now I have an incomplete. I hope he finds it. He told me he thought he remembered seeing the exam and that I have one of the highest grades in the class so he figured it was a mistake that he didn't have my exam. I'm hoping he finds it so I don't have to take it again....I get to graduate either way because grades aren't even due until after the commencement ceremony.
  12. My dad has one in case the cable goes out. It works pretty well. I'm not sure exactly how it works as far as broadcasting HD signals. If they don't get analog reception, would they necessarily get HD reception?
  13. classic.
  14. I prefer the blueberry, strawberry, and brown sugar/cinnamon. I never got into the stranger flavors. The strawberry milkshake flavor is like dulcolax for my roommate. 100% evacuation within 20 minutes. Every time. That kind of turned me off to the really sugary flavors.

Piece of cake! only 26 multiple choice questions...
  16. hey now, Sam. We do pretty well in the learnin' department here at JMU too drmnbig, You mean the one that is kind of closer to Grace street (the street the hospital is on)? I know the place you are talking about. It's Sigma Chi. I actually lived in the small apartment building next door last year. They have a lot of stuff going on whenever the weather gets nice. It used to be a real pain living next door because they would start partying in their yard and blaring the same mix CD around noon on Fridays and Saturdays (and many Thursdays). Some of them lived in my apartment building because it is next door to their frat house. They used to do some pretty annoying stuff. One time I awoke in the middle of the night to a fire in the middle of our parking lot. Another time I was watching tv with my roommate and a drunken frat boy walked into my front door in only his boxers. Apparently he thought our apartment was his apartment. I don't want to generalize them, but most of them seemed like real d'bags. For some reason that didn't seem to keep the pretty girls away from their house though.
  17. nice fish! I used to use spider jigs for smallmouth all the time. I need to start using them again.

has anyone else tried the Safari browser from apple on their PCs? i think their earlier version was a little messed up but the new one seems pretty nice. I'm using it instead of firefox now.

no job yet. Hopefully looking for something in the federal government. As of now I'm going to be living with my parents for a while...lame, i know, but if I want to live anywhere NEAR D.C. then I need to save some money first. The area is way too expensive for me right now, I need to save some money first.

Tomorrow is my last exam. It is not cumulative and only covers four class meetings worth of material. Assuming I pass all of this semester's classes, this will be the last exam I take before I graduate with a bachelor's degree on Saturday.
  24. > Can we please take it easy with all the joke threads? I'm getting hella tired trying to separate which joke that is funnier than the other that I have read already...
