Maybe it was the youtube audio quality, but I understand all the hubbub. She is a good singer, but the only reason she is getting attention is because she is also frumpy. I can think of quite a few singers that I believe are more talented.
  2. I think special pickup is like $30 around NoVA. At least I believe that is the rate for fairfax. If you end up taking care of it, just take it to the dump. If you are in Fairfax, the dump is out on West Ox Road near Rt. 50. It would be way cheaper than getting a special pickup. Honestly, I would just ask the guy about it when you get back.
  3. If I had a nickle for every time I've said that....
  4. do you know what kind of law you would like to practice? I would think poli sci, sociology, criminal justice, or economics could all be good ideas for bachelor's degrees depending on what type of law you want to practice. Does your school have a plain old "pre-law" program? If you want to go to law school you should definitely realize that you need to take things seriously from the get-go. I have found that lots of students don't take the gen ed courses seriously and then they end up struggling to bring up their GPA in their last two years. It is much easier to maintain a good GPA in your last few semesters than it is to bring a bad GPA up. The better you do as an undergraduate, the easier it will be to get into a good law school.
  5. I don't believe you, you criminal. ;D That's a nice setup. Do you have a preference for round reels?
  6. I just think there are standards that must be met to get government money. One would be refraining from criminal activities. The other is that the person must be searching for employment. That's all. I'm not saying they are derelicts because they lose their job and smoke. I am saying they are derelicts if theye they waste government money to get high or they are breaking the rules set by the government that is supporting them...It's like what parents say, "as long as you live in my house, you obey my rules" I don't care if someone is a good person who smokes. I DO care when they smoke while they are receiving government money. For the unlucky guy who occasionally smokes and loses his job the answer is simple, just stop smoking.
  7. Nice. In your world not only can the unemployed not smoke weed, but they can't drive 5 mph over the speed limit, must not ever forget to wear their seat belts, can't have tread on their tires that is under the minimum acceptable limit, etc. or they are derelicts of society. We're just going to have to agree to disagree. Now you're just being senile ;D Those are traffic offenses, not criminal offenses. I am not talking about those. I am talking about consciously committing criminal acts.
  8. I dunno, I think you could write more on Capt. America.
  9. I agree but I think it depends on your major. For some majors, college is pretty much just as easy or easier than a challenging high school. For other majors, you are going to learn about a specialized field that will be more difficult than high school like accounting, finance, biology, physics, etc... Of course it also depends on the college/university. My school isn't a particularly prestigious university but it is pretty selective as far as admissions go and I have had a pretty easy time and I really don't do much work on a weekly basis. Aaron, do you have any ideas about what you want to major in?
  10. What does the teacher mean by "fictional character?" You interpreted it as a character that you make up. When I read it I immediately thought of a cartoon or film character like Mickey Mouse or Scarface. Just asking to clarify.
  11. It has been proven smokin weed slows you down .Doing the other stuff does mental things to ya if u dont get it when u need it. I refuse to work around ppl who smoke weed do drugs or drink on the job its serious business .i dont want my doctor ,lawyer, cable guy, tire tech, grocery bagger, doin anything for me if they are under the influance simple as that I don't either. I'm not talking about people who drink or smoke on the job. BTW, I don't smoke weed nor am I giving my stamp of approval to drug use. I'm just saying you can't automatically categorize pot smokers as derelicts of society without looking at other attributes of their lives as well. If they are using money or time to do something illegal while they are unemployed and receiving government benefits then they are derelicts of society, regardless of what illegal activity it is. Part of it is also the fact that they are using government money in a wasteful manner. I would also call people derelicts if they were being wasteful (I saw a family buy 16 cases of soda--name brand no less--at Walmart with food stamps) and that includes buying drugs (any recreational drugs)
  12. for $400: Shimano Chronarch MG or B + Shimano Cumara/Daiwa Zillion (blasphemy) or: Daiwa Fuego + Kistler Magnesium TS for $300: Shimano Citica + Kistler Magnesium/St Croix Avid/Powell Max/Carrot Stix/Shimano Crucial
  13. There it is. Thinner line=longer casts. Braid is always thinner than mono in the same lb test. The limpness only becomes a factor when you are comparing braid with an equivalent diameter of mono.
  14. congrats, TF. That is great news. Good luck.
  15. Yes, if they use their money to smoke weed when they get laid off, they should not be allowed to get benefits. And what if they don't use their money to buy weed? What if they happen to smoke now and then with a friend who provides it? It isn't uncommon for someone with marijuana to share it with their buddies just as someone might share a case of beer with a friend. I get what you are saying but if they don't have a job they shouldn't be smoking weed with friends. It may be a little strict, but if you are giving money to people I believe your really need to make sure they are seriously trying to get a job and not wasting money. Plus, I don't think it really matters if they don't buy the weed because it is still illegal to smoke it. They shouldn't be allowed to get government money if they are breaking the law (whether its a good law or not).
  16. Except TW... ;D word.
  17. Yes, if they use their money to smoke weed when they get laid off, they should not be allowed to get benefits.
  18. I go to school at JMU but I live in Falls Church when I am at home. It looks like I will be living at home for at least a little while after I graduate in May so I will be around the area for at least a little while longer. My "go to" is no longer here but he is also a huge Kistler fan. Maybe you can come along the next time I fish with him.
  19. Why don't welfare recipients have to take drug tests to receive money from the taxes you pay? An obvious answer is that the cost of purchasing, distributing, and testing drug kits would be very high. From what I hear, they are pretty expensive. Guess who would end up paying for that? ;D So testing welfare recipients would make sure the recipients aren't drug users but it would also increase the amount you have to pay...Eh.
  20. Yep, that's how it works at my school. You can't park on campus unless you have a parking pass or after 5pm on Friday and all day on the weekends. Why didn't your friend tell you before hand?
  21. Nice, Micro. What kind of weighted hook was it? Keel weighted? I'm trying to get a good picture of what a rigged space monkey looks like.
  22. Yeah, I watched it a few days ago. I really liked the way they told the story as he justified why he knew the answers. I would recommend it.
  23. i burned the same album that was giving me trouble on my dad's computer using Nero Express and it did it in 3 min 31 seconds. Is his computer newer/better? That could very well be. Gotcha. I figured that might be the case.
  24. Hey, I've been in that gym.
  25. What was wrong with using the Zune software? I think 15 minutes sounds about right but I guess it depends on the computer. If you are just backing up the music, you should burn the files as data, not as music. Then you can fit a lot more on each CD.
