  1. Somebody posted this about a month ago but it is still one of the funniest internet videos I have seen.
  2. Yep, that is what I would use. No, I wouldn't use a moderate action for frogs and buzzbaits. As Tin said, you may want to go to a heavy rod if you fish thick slop with your frogs.

  4. I wish I could get to the tidal rivers to go for some shad. I saw guys pulling them out of the Rapp a couple years ago. Some of them were pretty darn big too. I saw a heron grab one that was probably the length of my forearm and gulp it down. For those of you that are getting in on the shad action: post some pics! I'd love to see some of your catches.
  5. Don't rule out topwaters during the day, especially for smallmouth. Smallies seem more likely to hit topwaters in the middle of the day than largemouth. I've used topwaters in the middle of summer on bluebird days and done well in small rivers.
  6. Yup, the big ones are easy enough to spot but some ticks are nearly invisible. I have found that spraying my legs with DEET seems to help. I carry it in my tackle bag so I have it wherever I go.
  7. I would use a fast. An XF wouldn't let the fish take the bait as much as a F. I would probably want a rod with more backbone for frogs and buzzbaits because I fish them in thick cover. Spooks, poppers, and props are more open water baits so you don't need as much backbone to haul fish out of cover.
  8. I heard that Loudoun County has an extremely high number of ticks. Be careful and watch for symptoms of lyme disease. If it goes undetected too long it can really mess you up.
  9. Wow. Hearing some of these stories has made me realize how fortunate I have been. I don't know most of you but I am truly sorry that some of you guys have had such difficult events in your lives and I am equally impressed with how well you seem to have handled them.
  10. How is that place for walking the bank? I heard it was difficult and there are a lot of ticks.
  11. Thanks for the advice. I'm involved in every major club in HS right now, hopefully I can do the same in college. I might even try to start up a fishing team there. If you want to do that you should start immediately. It can take time to get through the school approval and funding processes. Find other people with similar interests (through facebook or other organizations) to see if you will have enough support. Then learn the process for creating a club at your school. Often times you will have to request funding from the school and you have to make presentations and prove to student council orgs that you are a viable club that would benefit from getting school money. I always wanted to start a club at my school but I always put it off and then by junior and senior year I just didn't have the time. Good luck and have fun.
  12. congrats, dude. As a graduating senior I have some advice for you. Don't waste your time by sitting around doing nothing--you will not remember any of it. Get involved with as many clubs, organizations, etc, as you can. The busier you are, the more things you will have to remember.
  13. LMAO! Burley, can you show us how to paint some "happy" trees?
  14. Rod or reel? Left to right: Curado 200E5 / Quantum Tour KVD TKVD7106M Curado 200E7 / Kistler Helium 2 LTX He2MHC69 Curado 200E7 / Kistler Helium 2 LTX He2MHC69 Citica 200E / Kistler Helium 2 LTX He2MHC69 Calcutta 50 / Fenwick HMG GT66M Stradic 2500FI / Carrot Stix CLTX691M-F-S Sorry, I should have been more specific, but I meant the rod. I am familiar with Shimanos and Kistlers but I didn't recognize the Quantum rod. Those are some sweet setups. I desperately want to upgrade my Stradic 2500FH to the FI
  15. What's the first one going from left to right?
  16. Wow. That looks awesome. It's not too expensive either. I've payed that much for a combo at Hardee's that was half that size.
  17. I just fixed a friend's computer who ran McAfee. McAfee scan showed no infections. I installed and ran Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware program. It found 93 infected items. Needless to say, I don't care for McAfee too much. Also, I Symantec is the company that makes Norton. Unless they make another a/v program with a different name that I don't know about, Norton and Symantec are the same thing.
  18. Yeah, I get what your saying and you're right, it isn't a good stat but I just thought that was what he asked for.
  19. That sucks, dude.
  20. How does it blow the others away? By its transparent operation. For an even lower resource overhead, take a look at NOD32. I was thinking more like "because it hasn't detected much stuff." Many people figure they aren't infected because their antivirus programs don't find anything. That's what makes me mad about AVG. Many people use it and think it is the end all a/v program but it has comparatively poor scanning and detection abilities. You could be using AVG and have a virus and not even know it but think because AVG's scan doesn't find anything that you are clean. BTW, I definitely agree with NOD32 as an option. It barely uses any resources and has great detection rates. I ended up buying Bitdefender because it has similar detection rates and it was WAY cheaper for me to buy multiple licenses but NOD was great as well and does not drain on system memory very much at all.
  21. Just think about it. Most mac users don't have or think they need a/v programs? All hackers need to do is learn to make a few viruses for macs and they have a large population of users with no protection who they can infect.
  22. How does it blow the others away?
  23. I agree. I somehow managed to pass calculus without understanding a darn thing. It is like a foreign language to me.
  24. NICE! congrats dude
  25. what did I get wrong in that post?
