I'm not buying that. In the second half they looked like crap. They played much better in the first half and I think they gave up in the second. I know they weren't given a chance to win, but when you win like they did against Spain and then go up 2-0 against Brazil in the first half, you can't say they just weren't up to the same level.

What if you don't care about those things you listed or they satisfy your requirements. For example, it's going to be hard to beat the weight of a Steez rod. I don't know anyone that gives a dump about guide spacing, and as far as "kit" handles--what if the Zaion reel seats on the Zillions are your ideal seat? They are supposed to be great. What if you want top of the line guides like the Fuji SiCs? Then a Zillion or Steez would be perfect.

It was pretty cool to chuck out the slammer and just hear it get annihilated as I brought it back in.

what if you are happy with the steez grip size, grip material, and guides? They are all top of the line, after all... What else can a custom builder offer you that a Steez cannot? the only thing I could really think of is wrap options--which wouldn't matter for me because I would order a rod that looks just like a steez or zillion (in fact my only custom rod is all black with foam grips like a zillion just without as much silver)

Last night I threw the 7" slammer for the first time. Don't think that only the big fish will hit them. I caught 6 fish between 2 and 3lbs. Between three guys throwing all sorts of baits the slammer was by far the most productive. Needless to say, I will be throwing the big baits a lot more often, especially at night.

sometimes the line will bury itself under layers of other line. Pull it out as far as you can, then you can usually see a loop that has formed over the line that is preventing it from coming off the spool. Use your fingernails to pull at that loop until it loosens up. Then try to pull the line some more. If it is buried really deep you may have to just respool.

best. channel. ever. Just make sure to go easy on the DVR settings because they will play the same episode of a show 15 times in a week so you will end up deleting a lot of repeat episodes if you're not careful.

why? There are other reels that are 6.8oz or less that aren't as expensive as the Steez

big time choke Not a choke in my opinion. The US was beaten by the better team, a team who can control the ball and the play as good as or better than any in the world. Yes, it was disappointing we got up 2-0 and couldn't find a way to put the screws to Brazil, but this was no choke. Giving up a 2-0 lead at the half by allowing 3 unanswered goals in the second half = choke.

I think that most people seriously under-estimate how much "mishandling" bass can take. Sure, we should do our best but I really don't think it's that big of a deal if someone holds one horizontal by one hand or touches one with dry hands. Could it hurt them? Maybe, but i don't think it hurts them as much as many people believe.
