Bass Boat Crash
I'll summarize the thread for you: The version that was posted said something about the driver being lucky to be wearing a kill switch. Then everyone commented on how stupid the guy was for jumping wakes at that speed. That was pretty much it. Though, it really is a good "don't be stupid" cautionary video

Hook under the fingernail today.
a shiver ran up my spine as i read that. I had a hook go through the top of my fingernail and just barely into the tissue underneath but having one run under the nail would be way worse.

Welcome to last month, Rowland. ;D

Icast 2009?
I'm not 100% sure but I'm pretty sure that color has been around for a while. I remember seeing it at least 2 years ago.

Bluegrass fans...
I don't think there is a title track to that movie but if you mean "Man of Constant Sorrow" then I agree. The whole soundtrack is pretty darn good.

swimbait line
If you start pulling baits out of fish' mouths or ripping up their lips, try the stretchier mono or copoly options.

Potomac Boating question
on the other hand, you would fine in the upper potomac above great falls.

Berkley Cherrywood
You're going to end up spending more money on replacing rods that break like you already have than if you just bought a good rod in the first place.

Problem removing hooks from Smallmouth
I sometimes get a kick out this "ya gotta set the hook sooner" comments. A bass can inhale bait or a lure at lightning speed. It has to in order to survive. It's his nature. I'm sorry, but no one's reflexes are that good! Learn to use the equipment you have, apply some of the suggestions you learn here and you'll do just fine. I think those comments are assuming that the person setting the hook allowed the fish to take the bait for a few seconds and then swung. Obviously as fast as you can set it is fast enough but sometimes you need to let the fish take the bait a few seconds or you will be reeling in baits with bit off tails.

So would this be a good swimbait rod?
1. what line/lure weight is it rated for? 2. what baits do you want to throw?

i just prefer to keep my baits, that's all...i'm surprised that you've never had any issues

Potomac Boating question
I would think not.

Not happy with braid.
I have no idea what you mean by line twist that you could "move on the line." I have never experienced that issue with braid. Again, are the rod and reel that you are using rated for 1lb test?

Not happy with braid.
I just noticed that you said you are using 8lb braid with 1lb diameter. Are your reel and rod rated for 1lb line?

you throw 2oz baits on 12 or 10lb line? Yup... Why in the world would you do that? I would think just casting 2oz too hard could snap 10lb line. Seriously, I don't even throw moderately heavy jigs with 10-12lb line

Bluegrass fans...
no problem. I knew what you meant.

Daiwa Steez Vs. G-Loomis GLX
At least not anyone that knows squat about rods. ;D Really? How different can 9 or 10 guides be spaced on a 6'9'' rod with different effect? I don't get this either. Granted, I only have half a dozen rods under my belt but I have never heard of much discrepancy in rod spacing. Guide choice, single or double foot, even guide number sure but like you said, I don't know how many different ways you can put 9 guides on a 6'9" rod. As far as rods, as far as sensitivity goes, GLX, but steez rods do look sick. yeah, there is only so much room for variation. You would really only be able to move the guides so much and I really don't see that making a noticeable difference.

x2 I love PowerPro.

Swimbait Squeaking?
I thought some swimbaits were designed to squeak?

Daiwa Steez Vs. G-Loomis GLX
how much can spacing the guides differently really affect casting distance, or "line control" when fighting fish? I don't really even understand what "line control" when fighting fish means...
