Favorite Flip-Flops
I guess it kinda makes sense for running but come on...how long have people been wearing shoes without problems?

Favorite Flip-Flops
A guy came into work wearing those the other day. Another person asked him about them and he went on some tirade about how regular shoes "destroy your feet" and how cave men didn't wear soles on their feet, etc, etc...He has come in a few times seems to be a pretty big granola eating nature nut. I don't know how his feet survived all these years until the individually-toed shoes were invented.

Interesting way to start the day....
I didn't feel it at all in NOVA.

Fish kill questions
As far as I understand sometimes fish sink to the bottom when they die. A fish kill can occur without any floaters.

New CURADO 50 E
I trust his opinion on gear, even if it means I'm probably going to spend a lot of money.

How much line do you need? More than 90 yards of 12lb test. I want something I can put a lot of 15-17lb test on. I've never needed more line than what I can fit on my Core 50. And I use 17 lb. fluorocarbon on it. What are you using it for? What aren't I using it for? I've used it for everything from pitching jigs to throwing crankbaits. In one night I might use it to pitch a jig to a close brushpile, then use it to make a 25 yard cast along a bluff wall. IMO it's the perfect sized spool. So I won't regret buying one and using it for soft plastics, jigs, etc...? I want a sweet reel for my upcoming all purpose DELUXE combo but I was skeptical if a small spool like that could really be all purpose. Was also considering a Chronarch D but the line capacity is pretty much the same as the core.

vicious line problem
15lb is much too heavy for a bass sized spinning reel. I use 8lb maximum

FWIW You don't have to go on the roadtrip in order to make friends with other members.

You know what WOULD be great? A high end Shimano LP reel that has a decent amount of line capacity.

Any strict scary dads out there?
LOL, if the girl was sober and acted upon using her clear judgment, then why would you kick the guys butt? It takes two to tango, my friend. That why when I was his age, any dad/brother or whatever said something like that to me, I just smiled. Now, if the person had slipped the girl a roofie or something then it another story, but if she was completely in a normal state of mind, then it is as much as her fault as the other. Just my 2 cent. I suspect your opinion would change if you were a father/had a sister.

How to fish flukes?
I like to dead stick them or walk them (either on the surface or subsurface). I'll use a keel weighted hook in current or if the fish are deeper.

Got some fireline 20% off.
Hmmm, I thought the 20% off was only the smaller spools. Either way, it's a good deal. Not my favorite braid but some guys like it.

Experimenting With Braided Line
Same for a lot of striper fisherman up here.

This is, quite possibly, the funniest video on the internet ever.
It has been a feature on "Attack of the Show" on the G4 network.

Experimenting With Braided Line
I think there just needs to be sort of "snapping" of the line that sends a pulse down to the bait in order to make it taught and then immediately loose. I've had a lot of success using the bow and arrow with braid on an ultralight that was very moderate but not very good success on fast or XF rods. They seem to work better with fluoro/mono. Maybe at least one part of the equation has to have some give? Who knows. I know what has worked for me but I also know that you two old guys have probably been using braid since before I could even spell it...
