  1. I'm going out on a limb here, but I will bet money you will be fishing flooded bushes and timber. We were there last week and the water was 9 feet over what it usually is. Most of the people we talked to had never seen it that high before. I don't care how much water the TVA releases, with that much water in the lake, the bushes will still be flooded. Take your jigs (lots of them), spinnerbaits and creature baits. Hit every tree you can find. If you see vines hanging off a tree into the water, you will be on fish. The nastier the cover, the better off you will be.
  2. Booyah buzzbaits with the clacker are my normal choice for buzzers. I like them because they have a great head design and produce more noise than other buzzbaits.
  3. We did well enough that I have no regrets about my decision. 5-4 was the biggest I caught, with a couple more over 4. Everyone on the trip caught at least one over 4lbs. Couldn't tell you how many cookie cutter 15-17 inch fish were caught, but Kentucky lake has a healthy population of them for sure. Our group is anxiously awaiting an announcement on where next year's trip will be held. I am sure that the locals will not be too excited to hear the BR Roadtrip Curse will be arriving. Guntersville - a week of freezing temps and snow showers. Kentucky Lake I - same thing Pickwick/Kentucky Lake II - 18-22 inches of rainfall Where will the black cloud go next? ;D
  4. Apples to oranges. I guess it depends on what you are calling a swimbait? I would work a hard swimbait like a fluke (sometimes) but the soft swimbaits, not so much. They are a much slower presentation for the most part.
  5. LOL, I'm sure he has one of those dang slant bridges that will handle 4+. BTW Bronze, congrats on the other "mod job."
  6. Matt, post up a photo of the page when you get a chance. Congrats.
  7. On a budget: Okuma Guide Series Not too concerned with budget: Loomis 956 RedlineRobert: White Python ;D
  8. Not a big hockey fan, but I do enjoy watching the playoffs. Quite a bit more intensity. Pens F T W
  9. 80,001 lb. coal truck for me... ABC, easy as Jennie123.
  10. Left hand? If so, we may have to talk next week.
  11. Hey Keith! I was just thinking the other day that I hadn't seen you around in a while. My wife is left-handed for everything. I get to hear all about what doesn't work. LOL
  12. LOL, what I paid for that wouldn't make a monthly on that Gambler.
  13. I'll give ya that one. I saw the 5" TT in the water last weekend and it actually looked really good. Bass were in a negative mood, but the pickeral seemed to love it.
  14. Don't worry about Bass Pro as far as swimbaits go. Order direct from Mattlures, Huddleston or Tackle Warehouse. Matt and TW both have free shipping over $50.
  15. Looking good man. You gonna hook up with us in Kentucky or what?
  16. Yep 10FLP Dan, yes I do. Didnt include it because I don't associate it with only using the vision in my dominant eye.
  17. LOL, only with rifles and while shooting pool. Weird, I know. ;D
  18. New toy. Just what I needed, another rifle to buy a scope for...
  19. Great pic, as always. Chris, do you put your fish in the livewell to bring out the colors?
  20. Should I say it or do you just want me to think it? I TOLD YOU SO.
  21. Someone is losing their innocence. You are becoming the mook we all knew you could be. ;D
  22. Depends on the situation. To me, the rod is most important with contact baits (jigs, soft plastics, drop shot/shakey, etc). Spinnerbaits, I don't really care as long as I am not backlashing all day.
  23. What the hell kind of rodents do you have in OK? Dang. Note to self: Stay away from the mice in the midwest. ;D
  24. May 8th shouldn't be a big deal. We will be leaving sometime that day, maybe we can hit a launch further up the lake. Do you think there is any potential topwater action going on next week?
  25. Actually, I intended to do this Saturday night. We can do it Sunday night also. I can bring enough to do both nights, since we have so few coming. Looking forward to seeing everybody. Joe, got some good beer, just for you. DogfishHead, a new Sam, and a couple more. Some primo hops, buddy. Gary, I was in Vermont last weekend and had two Sam's that I had never even seen before. Double Bock and Imperial Stout. Very nice.
