  1. Check the thread date brother. Last year and this year are totally different for the weather around here.
  2. With as long as that old road bed has been there, it would take some serious balls to drive a truck across there. That upper end gets so much silt from the creek, I can't imagine the base under that road is stable. LOL Sean, I found out where they put the muskies from Opossum.
  3. LOL, been a while since I've seen 225 or 150.
  4. If they are going to refill/restock them, honestly I have no problem with that. The growth boom that comes from restocking a lake can be fantastic if done properly. You can see some truly great bass growth in a 5 year period if the forage base is re-established before too many predator fish are introduced. I'm really hoping Opossum returns to where it once was. It had some BIG musky and LMB in it.
  5. I was kind of hoping that a chance encounter with a DNR officer wasn't going to happen but that if it did, I could persuade him/her to give me a pass if they too knew the system was garbage. LOL I had fun fishing and didnt meet any officers, all good. Next time I'll just stop at Dick's on the way down.
  6. Just want to go on record to say that the MD Compass thing you have to sign in to get your license SUCKS. Tried three different times to get a license so I could be legal, three different times go to the end and it gave me a message that they were experiencing computer problems. I just went fishing. LOL
  7. Careful! Might hurt some of the old timers' feelings with that one. I believe Catt is an anise fan.
  8. Wow, $120 to fish as a non-boater? Dang! What's the payout like?
  9. I sold off some stuff and I am currently looking at 15-20hp outboards. That should open up the fishing area for me and the aluminum aircraft carrier.
  10. 1. Pay attention to your surroundings, know how long it takes for your jig to hit bottom. If you are in 10 FOW and your jig stops before it should, something better kick in telling you to set the hook. 2. Watch your line and know when it acts differently than "normal." 3. You can fish too fast, you can't fish slow enough. 4. Check your line often, especially around rocks and mussels. 5. Practice, practice, practice your pitching technique. It can't ever get good enough that you don't need to practice. That's all I can think of right now, maybe more later.
  11. Wow, another lake down for repairs? They are draining Meadowgrounds Lake in Fulton County due to a faulty dam and they just re-filled Opossum Lake in Cumberland County after fixing the dam.
  12. You mean adding a stinger? 12" worms are about the extent I fish. I've used both a 5/0 EWG gammie and a 11/0 Owner (that is a BIG hook) with success.
  13. That technique works very well. It's a little more difficult with a smaller fish, but still able to be done.
  14. That's an easy one.... Just insert a "T" after the "Shi" and before the "mano" and VOILA! LOL
  15. Get the thing wet and the fins wiggle. Move it forward the slightest and the tail gets going. Winner, winnner, chicken dinner!
  16. This is where you will see the difference in price and craftsmanship. Definitely one of the places you will see what "hand poured" and "mass produced" really means.
  17. Looking for something to put in some local ponds around here, maybe do a gentle float down the Juniata river. They have some good sized fish in them but access is limited due to shoreline growth. I've read the reviews on Cabela's, but take those with a grain of salt typically. Thanks for any feedback fellas. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Creek-Company-Sport-LT-Pontoon-Boat/711972.uts?Ntk=AllProducts&searchPath=%2Fcatalog%2Fsearch.cmd%3Fform_state%3DsearchForm%26N%3D0%26fsch%3Dtrue%26Ntk%3DAllProducts%26Ntt%3Dpontoon%26WTz_l%3DHeader%253BSearch-All%2BProducts&Ntt=pontoon&WTz_l=Header%3BSearch-All+Products#BVRRWidgetID
  18. I wouldn't say it won't work, the rules of bass fishing are very flexible. That being said, with those water temps? It would be a fluking day for me. You can work it like a topwater and also let is settle into the weeds if you like.
  19. Those are like an ocean to some of the places I have fished. Got a local one here, trolling motor only, on a 201 acre lake. I've seen 40 boats in one T before. Nuts.
  20. How many boats were in it last year? Those are not very big lakes. LOL
  21. Swimbaits. Make ya poor REAL quick. LOL
  22. http://www.wellsborotackleshack.com/tackleshackopen Found this. Sounds like a good time, looking up the lakes right now.
  23. No doubt. That sounds intriguing.
