  1. The obituary that Brian posted is the first time I ever saw what Jack looked like. I don't know if anyone else sees it, but to me he bears an uncanny resemblance to a younger-looking, less weathered Muddy (Dominick). Thinking of you still Jack. Wayne
  2. LOL, one or two? I believe you forgot a couple zeroes after those numbers. PM sent. ;D
  3. The Hardgill will plane when you throw it, just the nature of the bait. I throw mine on a Curado 301 and a Cardiff 301, just depends on how fast I am working the bait. Put that 6" Hudd on there and you can dam near spool yourself, much more aerodynamic. Lunker Punker would fly even further. I'm an Abu fan for my low profile reels, but all my swimbait stuff is Shimano.
  4. I really like to skip plastics with a spinning rod, can't do it with a baitcaster. Pitching jigs is tied for first in my "favorites." Big baits? Two-handed, overhead He-man casting.
  5. Yeah, that's funny to me. Look at the scoreboard, the Steelers dominated the Jets in the first 1/2 quite a bit more. ;D Here we go!!!
  6. How would you attack "XYZ" body of water? (As I show him a map of my small local waters.)
  7. I usually go by myself because everyone seems to be a fair weather fisherman. Allen No, I definitely wouldn't call myself a fair weather fisherman. Like Brian said, the only thing that really keeps me away is lightning. Did that once, not a big fan! Rain, snow, dog days hot...... I get out when I can! I just love to fish! Heck, I even did an early bird tourney with SPEED last year. Conditions that day were far from fair weather fisherman conditions! LOL!
  8. Whoa, whoa, whoa..... Soft plastic or Hardgill smaller? :-? I am now all ears...
  9. March is the best time for both unless the river is flooded. If the river is flooded the fishing gets better at the other place. BTW you guys missed some great deals at the Ag show in Boonsboro. I got 3 packs of Yamamoto flappin hogs for $2 Allen I have seen your tackle hoarding epidemic. ;D You just save those Flappin' Hogs for me. LOL Great find!!
  10. Great baits and definitely a great place to buy them!! I found some of the fish around me are intimidated by the Mattlures on occasion. In those situations where I felt they were keying on smaller 'gills, the Tru Tungsten 5" gill worked well. During the spawn last year, I went after a bed fish with the Hardgill and the softgill from all kinds of angles without success. My buddy tied on the TT gill, made a pitch past the fish and the bass rushed the bait like I have never seen before. Same presentation, different bait. Again, Tackle Warehouse is the best place to get the baits and all your other fishing needs.
  11. I'll go out on a limb and agree with you on that. ;D
  12. I wear the Desert Rough Out TFX Danners and they are the most comfortable boot I have ever had.
  13. my mistake, I was already shopping for hooks at TW anyway, didnt even check your link, lol. At least there is a convenient link for purchasing at any rate, lol. Tackle Warehouse is one of the better spots to buy swimbaits, hooks, you name it!! Awesome!! Yeah!!!
  14. Well yes, what I call shallow. The rising water puts a lot of cover that was once unavailable in the water. It never fails. The majority of the bass go back, no matter the surface temps. If the elevation stays down, that's no problem either, maybe better for some cause the fish will stay congregated yet that could be hit or miss. I will give more specific info in person once you arrive. I'm very open to the BR crew but I am a tournament fisherman and I cant post detailed reports on here. I'll respond to PM's when time gets closer but even a lure list would be overwhelming. I will say this and not to plug for any sponsors but, Rage Craws in Falcon Craw color is a sure bet! Regardless of water elevation, t-rigs, small cranks like DT-6 and 100 and 200 Bandits should be good. We'll just have to see how Spring pans out. Thanks CJ. I really appreciate any info I can get. I completely understand your not wanting do divulge a lot of info. I wouldn't either in your shoes. Although I've been bass fishing for over 30 years, I'm relatively new to the concept of "putting the puzzle together" on strange waters. Most of my bass fishing has come on very familiar local lakes and farm ponds, mainly small waters. So the "puzzle" to me is much easier. As a rule, I generally don't do very well on bigger, unfamiliar waters. This is an area of my expertise that I really want to improve. Maybe when we get to KY lake, I'll have a plan put together for you local experts to critique and change so I can learn a little more. Long Mike can verify this from Lake Fork and Jimzee/PitchinKid will verify it from Guntersville: Find something that looks like what you fish back home and go to it. They'll be there.
  15. Allen, let me know man. I'll hit that up with you anytime you want. I'm still looking for some hair jig smallies, you just tell me when.
  16. Yeah Mike, that was one he did.
  17. You have NO idea how much I want to get in there with you guys. Just the thought of throwing the big stuff in there makes me giddy. ;D
  18. Not quit sure what you meant by this, but I enjoy reading his posts as much as I do anyone's. BC can take a ribbing(UFO's, and Sarah Palin---15 y/o hormones I guess ) has respect for his parents and seems like a good young man. I'll bet he will do fine, and just maybe we will see his name in BASS MASTER's mag. It means the boy should listen twice as much as he talks. Pretty easy, sound advice in all aspects of life for most people.
  19. Just depends on what you are going to throw. The internals of small frame, low-profile reels were not designed to handle the abuse of throwing big baits. From your other thread, I saw where you will be staying under two ounces. On that note, you should be ok with a Revo S.
  20. You gonna ask your buddy if I can hit those ponds with the two of you sometime? ;D
  21. Knowing you from reading your posts on here, the best employment advice I can give you is this... You have two ears and one mouth for a reason. While you are working, you should listen twice as much as you talk. BTW, don't let your peers know that your uncle runs the store. Good luck.
  22. I know it's not MD, but any of you can feel free to meet me in Harrisburg at the PP&L plant. Sean, why isn't my phone ringing? : BIATCH!!! ;D
  23. Can't have your cake and eat it too brotha. Buy a bigger stick and open up your possibilities. Over 6" and under 2oz is a difficult endeavor, especially when you are looking for quality baits with quality components.
  24. MASSHOLE, what up cracka? Nice to see you still fishing.
