  2. Way to go Matt!!! A four pounder can fight like crazy, but when it's in that strong current, the fight gets even better. Falcon
  3. Line: Berkley Trilene Crankbaits/Jerkbaits: XCalibur, In my opinion, the best lipless crankbaits. Rapala, Always consistant quality, and they catch ALOT of fish. Bomber, Square A, say no more.(Thanks roadwarrior) John Mills Custom Baits, John knows how to make crankbaits that catch fish. And they're pretty. Norman, DD 14 & DD 22. Lucky Craft, Like Rapala, always consistant Quality. Best suspending Baits. Plastics, ***, GYCB, Zoom. Reels, Abu Garcia, "For Life", Daiwa. Rods, Quantum, Overlooked by alot of fishermen, great rods , especially for the price, St. Croix. Hooks, Gamakatsu, VMC, XCalibur. Falcon
  4. Earlier this season, I was fishing a spot that I was sure held some bass. After a few casts with no strikes, I applied some Megastrike. Three out of the next four casts produced fish. That was all the convincing I needed. Falcon

  10. That can ruin your day. To say the least. Falcon
  11. I fish very clear water, and my most productive spinnerbait has a translucent skirt with chrome double willowleaf blades. On some days, for some reason, the firetiger spinnerbait really produces. The only reason I can think it works so well is because the bass are feeding on yellow perch. The only time I use my all black spinnerbait is, low light conditions. Hope this helps. Falcon

  15. Welcome to the best fishing site on the net. I'm somewhat familiar with your area. My daughter and son-in-law graduated from Western Michigan University. I was there every-other weekend for four years. I used to pass Paw Paw Lake alot, and I would always tell my wife how much I'd like to fish there. Gull Lake was another one that always intrigued me. 16. Happy Belated Birthday!!! You're still a pup. I'm going to be 60 in four weeks. Falcon
  17. I agree, he is one of the top five quarterbacks to ever play the game, however I think he tarnished his legacy with his on-again-off-again retirement..............make up your mind already. Falcon
  18. Make that three. Falcon
  19. Spinnerbaits are probably one of the best baits to throw from shore. They don't hang-up as readily as other baits. Lipless crankbaits are another bait I use when I fish from shore. Rapala Shallow Shad Raps, and Bomber Square A's are productive baits also. Read Sam's post again, and follow it to the letter. It's very good advice........Great post Sam. Falcon
  20. I had one of those "Midas Touch" days earlier in the season. With my ADD, I have more of those days than I care to admit. I find, when my trip starts out with multiple blunders, it's better to go home, tie-up the boat, and come out swinging the next day. Falcon

  22. Welcome to the best fishing site on the net. Have you tried Metro Beach? A little further north is the Harley Ensign Public Access.(at the end of South River Road) If you don't mind traveling a little more, there is the Public Access just outside the main gate of Selfridge Air National Guard Base. A little further north is Brandenburg Park, they have a LONG pier, and shore fishing opportunities. Just a few ideas. Falcon P.S. I just remembered, if you live in St. Clair Shores, you can get a pass from the city and fish at the park at the end of Masonic Blvd. Good luck.
  23. I use Duo Lock snaps to save time, however, recently I've been using them less. Falcon
  24. Now, that's funny. Falcon
