Hey Bayou Bass, You can fish any depth, you can count it down or fish just below the surface. I fish 8' or less alot also. Last week I was counting down four feet and reeling and doing well. Today I was reeling in as soon as it hit the water and getting them. Another nice feature with the Redeye, is it wiggles as it's falling. Falcon

You're the man Big-O. That was very cool. I've been fishing with some KVD mojo myself. My daughter-in-law's friend Matt grew up with Kevin, and he got him to sign a Nitro hat for me for Father's Day. Matt tried to get him to sign one of his rod and reels, but KVD said wait for the end of the season and he'll see what he can do. Everybody knows I'm an Abu Garcia guy, but I'll be very excited to have one of those Quantums. Falcon

I fish open water 95% of the time, so I want the longest cast possible. All my rods are 7' except for one at 8'-3". (I can almost hit Canadian water with this one)LOL Falcon

One of my buddies has one. I used it one day this Spring and it's not a bad reel. It isn't a Revo, but for the money it's a pretty good deal. Falcon

I just started using braid on my spinnerbait rod. It hasn't hampered my catch rate at all. Falcon

I agree with Raul, the Shad Rap, in all it's versions has put more fish in my boat than any other lure. The DT's are good lures, however I still catch more fish on Shad Raps than I do DT's. Falcon
