Straight shank vs. wide gaps
FibeBass, I was introduced to the straight shank as a kid and i still use them to this day. I like the hookup ratio with them a lot. Although i only had picked up some ewgs this year because of a new craze of creature baits etc, such as the fat ika, i havent got to use them pretty much yet. But this spring will definately prove which one i like more.

Spawn Fishing
You should NOT fish for spawning bass! Fish PRE-SPAWN and POST SPAWN, Fishing during the actual spawn can be FATAL and the spawn may not be successful. It is good to let nature run its course. Fishing for spawning bass leave sthe nest unguarded for predators to prey on baby bass fry and eggs. I believe that lakes should be closed during the entire spawn to help increase the fertility of the lake and conserve bass. Just MHO -Mike

what for bluegill?
I have caught plenty of bluegill that were in decent size while fishing for bass. I found the REBEL small crayfish, crickhopper, and bumble bee lures to be productive. Also little surface popers and small inline spinners work well too. ;D

Some people are probably just too lazy to sign up lol. I guess you could say they are "leeching" off the forum and getting our helpful information rather than joining and sharing it. I often times dont post a lot, most of the time i just look at what everyone else is talking about
