  1. Tried them out for the first time today. I like the action. They seem to be a little softer than the Swing Impacts (tear up faster). They also seem slightly lighter and more buoyant.
  2. If we're talking about the biggest "buzz" I'd have to go with the Whopper Plopper.
  3. Right now (90's here) I rig them weightless and work them back on a slow retrieve just a foot or two below the surface. Will give it a few pops here and there. Occasionally will pause and just let it fall a bit before resuming the retrieve.
  4. Pfleuger fanboy checking in!
  5. That's a great reel. I have one I picked up when they were on sale for $60 and felt like I stole it. It performs as well as some of my other reels that I paid $200-300 for. If they're on sale at $50 I'll probably pick up a couple more.
  6. One of the more productive baits in the ponds I fish, both T-rigged or wacky.
  7. Bought this one from Cabelas on sale. I see it's on sale again for $60. Great bag - will hold (8) 3700 size boxes, plus a lot of utility pockets and a zippered mesh pocket on the rear. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Rapala-reg-Tackle-Bag/2125652.uts
  8. I prefer the mojo over the E6X. At that level I feel like you get more bang for your buck from St. Croix. For me, the Loomis line starts at the IMX and up. I know it wasn't part of your question, but I'd recommend checking out Hammer Rods, which are in your price range and are fantastic rods for the money IMO. I own one and will definitely be buying more Haven't used the revos. Pfleuger president is a fine reel. The only time I buy a spinning reel that isn't a Pfleuger these days is if Shimano or comparable has a sale deal that is too good to pass up. Just hard to beat Pfleuger at the price point. This is all of course just my personal preferences, so take that for what it is Hope this is helpful to you in some way.
  9. Have you tried lighting it on fire? I keed, I keed! You could try something small enough to try and work some slack under the parts that are digging in, like a pencil tip. That and a whole lot of patience might get it done.
  10. That green pumpkin and kvd Magic are calling my name.
  11. You know, the **** brand! That thing is a ****ing piece of **** but still much better than ****, which are made by **** and are only slightly bigger pieces of ****! Know what I mean?
  12. I am in south Tulsa and fish a lot of ponds in and all around Tulsa. Let me know if you get something going. I get out at least every weekend and whenever I'm able to on weekdays.
  13. I am the only guy on this board whose favorite bait is a buzzbait? Surprising!
  14. This post nailed it. I love how easy braid is to deal with as far as line management issues, but for slack line presentations I believe FC is the undisputed champion and is worth dealing with the issues that come with it. That said, if you go this route, spend the extra money on a quality line and make sure you're spooling the proper size - if this is on a spinning set up, you're going to want nothing bigger than 10lb, preferably 8lb. Tatsu is hands down the favorite.
  15. Is it worth it? Yes. Spinning gear certainly has its place, and sure, you CAN do everything you want on it... but that doesn't mean it will always be the best tool for the job. As with anything in life, when you try new things and take the time to learn and grow, you will open doors and find rewards. What do you stand to lose by learning to fish with new and different gear?
  16. Guess I've never thought of it as my "lucky" rod, but if things aren't going my way I usually turn to my Avid X paired with a Lews team lite to make the stars magically align.
  17. I want some of the red/black ones but man... gonna have to find some at a deep discount because there's no way I'm paying the retail price. I haven't owned the clear ones but have handled them in the store and don't see where they are any better than Plano.
  18. Cabelas has a few colors in the 90. TW has both the 90 and 130 in stock.
  19. Check out the Owner weedless wacky worm hook - I think that may be exactly what you're looking for.
  20. Good work. Make sure you stay in contact with your sponsor so you don't backslide.
  21. I don't care for P-Line's FC. In the instances where I use flouro, I feel it's worth the extra money to buy a higher quality product (Tatsu). As for other P-Line products, I've had pretty good results with the CX Premium - decent co-poly line for the price. I tried CXX and found it to be a little stiff with a lot of memory.
  22. My favorite is Seagaur Smackdown. Not the cheapest but I feel it's the best braid I've tried. If you want something a little less expensive, I'd recommend Suffix 832.
