Reels for Flipping/Pitching
The "Castaic" has a very neat flipping switch but the problem is that most people don't like. Ten to fifteen years ago tons of baitcasting reels had small flipping switches on them and today not many good reels have them. In fact, I can't think of any reels in your price range that have the old style flipping switch. I think that most people just never used it.

swimbaits
LBH, you are fighting a loosing battle. If you want to trace the term back to when it was first applied in the bass fishing scene you would be talking about AA's and Wormking swimbaits that did have a paddle tail. Now the term "Swimbait" has been applied to everything from 4" paddle tubes to 14" Nates Baits. You have to look at the term the same way you use the term "Rock." You can break rock down to a million sub catagories from Oldies to Death Metal and everything in between. What is "Rock" to one person isn't to another. Same goes for "Swimbaits" Believe me, I feel the same frustration you do but we just have to deal with it.

I cannot believe it UPDATE
Last time I ordered a rod from BPS I placed the order over the phone and it took over a week before the item actually left their dock. My buddy ordered some ice jigs two weeks ago and half of them were the wrong color. I'm done with them. All of my stuff comes from *** or Hookeduptackle.com now.

bubblegum color trick worm
Find an old Bass Pro catalog from 1989 and it will be full of bubble gum colored baits. It was the Sexy Shad of that time.

Uncle Josh Bump N Run Buzzbait
Yeah I like the idea as well. I can already think of number of spots where it would work well.

Property Managment Rates
That's just the going rate in that neighborhood. Thanks for all the replies, 10% is what I was thinking was a reasonable rate.

Property Managment Rates
She is not paying that, she is one of the owners. It was my Grandparent's house. It is a great house in an amazing location. Here is the view from the back yard. These pics of SFO were taking from the back patio. You can see the entire south half of San Francisco bay from Candlestick Park to the left, Oakland across the bay, and as far as the eye can see to the right. A rainy night when they were landing on 19

How versatile is a 5:1 gear ratio?
I remember watching a "Uncle Homer" video when I was a kid and when he addressed gear ratios he held up his hand and said five was the magic number. I used to trow buzzbaits on a five to one with no problem, had to crank a little faster but it was not like it was hard to do.

Wacky Rigging, My Way

Use a spinnerbait trailer or not?
Bingo!

SwimBaiters again- Split Rings
Sorry about that, I totally forgot to get back to you. I checked and I use #7 on my Slammers. The smaller sizes didn't close back to normal after being opened enough to get on the eye screws. Just make sure you have some split ring pliers unless you intend on splitting your thumbnail from your thumb

Property Managment Rates
I know that the answer could vary depending on the situation but you any of you have any experience dealing with property managers? I have a feeling that my mother is dealing with someone that is trying to take her to the cleaners but I don't know what a reasonable rate would be. Lets say that it is a single family home and the going rent in that area is $5-6K. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

California fishing
Don't get me wrong, I'm all about pointing people in the right direction but there are so many people in southern California that just "lurk" the forums in search of the hot bite. If they see that bass are bedding at a lake, they are going to go. That is just my experience from dealing with the local forums over that last five or six years. There is a reason so many guys blur out the backgrounds on the photos they post. At any rate, I didn't mean for it to be an attack and I hope to run into you on the water some day.

Coming from the same person who posted this. It is forums like fishingnetwork and comments like the one above that direct droves of people to all of our little bodies of water.

Drop shot rod???
I have fished both of those rods and you can't go wrong with either one. You are just going to have to get to a store that has both rods, strap your reel on them and see how they feel. Either way you will be happy.

SwimBaiters again- Split Rings
I jacked up a couple of Hyper Wires trying to get them on a slammer. I will check to see what size I ended up using when I get home and get back to you in the morning.

YUM G-Shad rigging
No. What ghoti suggested would be the best head for that bait. You could also just use any ball jig head. You could drop shot that bait but then you wouldn't really be using it as a swimbait like you wanted to.
