fishing glasse's What do you use and how much is too much to spend?
Oakley Hijinx with Grey polarized lenses. I didn't want to spend $145 on glasses but they were the only non wire frame glasses I could find that didn't look dumb on my fat head.

Fishing w/ Team Trucha @ Perris Lake, CA
I've been fishing "your area" for over 20 years. I just moved this month. Blue stoning is not to prevent late summer algae bloom, all it does is destroy habitat so the boaters and shore fisherman don't have to deal with the weeds. It's the worst thing that happens to the lakes down there, well that and all the meat fishermen.

BPS snaps
If these are the ones you are talking about, I have only had one open on me. If you bought these I would suggest you just throw them away now. I had horrible luck with these. The only snaps that have never opened on me are the Rosco Duolock. They cost a little more but well worth it in my opinion.

Lets see your shakey head combo
I'm with Toledo in that I don't have a dedicated setup for it but when I do use it, it is on one of the two combos depending on the size of the shakey I am throwing. I have a St. Croix TBC69MLXF with an Abu Morrum SX1600C Ultra Mag Forell for the lighter stuff. Also use a St. Croix EC70MF with an Abu Morrum SX1600C Ultra Mag for the heavier stuff.

Largemouth or Spotted (Kentucky)
Definitely looks like a LM to me. Don't mean to highjack this thread but do they crossbreed at all? I caught one yesterday morning that looked just like a largemouth in every way except that he had teeth all over his tongue. It wasn't just in a little patch like most the spots i've caught. But then again I never caught any spots until I moved out here to OK.

Fish that split shot rig on spinning, not your baitcaster. Blue stoning that lake is the worst thing they can do. True, the weeds make it tuff to fish from shore, but the fish need them, especially now that the lake is so low and all of the rip rap on the points is out of water. I'm going to have to make a trip back out there if they ever fill that lake back up.

Mattlures assistance, por favor
Try everything you mentioned. I've caught fish with that thing burning and ripping it around shallow cover and I have also caught fish with it dead sticking it in 12 ft of water. It is like any other bait in that you need the fish to tell you what they want. No need to change those hooks, those owners will handle some pretty big fish.

Finesse - Spinning or Casting?
The only time I use a spinning rod is for weightless Fin-s-fish and split shot rigs. I just prefer using casting gear. You just need the right setup for casting 1/8 oz and less on baitcasting gear.

St. Croix Legend Elite LEC68MXF vs Loomis BCR803 GLX
I have had used both and my wife currently owns the LE (Which I used today LOL) If you were just fishing weightless plastics I would say the LE, but if you are fishing half ounce jigs, I would say you would need the GLX to get that hook set. The LE has a softer tip.

St Croix Legend Elite?
They are great rods. Very light and sensitive. I traded a Loomis GLX Jig and Worm series rods for one. Best trade I have ever made. The new green ones are even better than the brown ones.

Nice job. I miss that lake, bass in OK are the same. It's about to start going off out there. The whole shoreline between that handicap dock and the d**n will be full of shad... and bass.- Which Outdoor Store?
I don't have a single "go to" store for my fishing tackle needs. Bass pro has a lot of stuff but not my favorite by any means. I really don't care for their brand of stuff and I think that that space should be filled with "real" tackle. For me it is a combination of handful of big stores, local shops, and two online stores.- The larger bass are like ghosts
Good Luck. I say throw a seven inch senko in the middle of it.- Anyone using Gene Larew plastics?
Still use the Salt Craws here and there.- Bassin' in Los Angeles +100 Heat
Nice fish! You are pretty gutsy posting pictures of nice fish being caught at Legg. Hopefully you didn't post that on the local forum. Unless you course you enjoy all the company and trash while you are out there.- Buzzbaits in the rain
Gotta love that!!!!- huge white cat check it out
I would agree with you that it is a white cat. The tail is forked but not that much, and I have never seen a channel that was completely void of spots. Nice fish!- Clarus Shimano
Yeah you can't go wrong with one of those.- IF you could have any components for a custom rod.......
There are many good blanks out there but Fuji are the only components I would put on them.- fishing with live bait
LOL, I was thinking the same thing.- hey! Anyone have one of those new fenwick Elite-Tech rod's?
Last I checked they are still making the Techna AV.- Legend Tournament vs. GLX vs. Others
I agree about the split grips. I have four Legend Tournaments and they are all the full grip models. They just fell into the split grip fad.- Dust collecters
Anything that has to do with live bait. It's been years since I have used a bobber or any of my bait holder hooks. - Fishing w/ Team Trucha @ Perris Lake, CA
