Brass and glass texas rig, 2/0 ewg.
  2. Triple Trout and Ms Slammer. They work great and between the two I can cover almost every situation.
  3. Ok that is what I thought in the first place. LOL. Great catch FC
  4. Come on man, give me a little more credit than that, I didn't start fishing yesterday. The barbels are not coming out of the fishes mouth, they are in front of the mouth. What is coming out of its mouth is your hand and some line that goes infront of your hand and then down around the front of your shirt. It just looks a heck of a lot thicker than 10lb braid to me, that's all.
  5. That is an awesome fish. What do you consider "Micro-lite"? That line coming out of that fish's mouth looks pretty thick. Is that just a long leader?
  6. I have caught one fish on the fast sink BBZ-1. I wish I had a pic. I got it by making a long cast to a very steep wall and letting it sink 15-20ft, then ripped it up, let it fall back down and continued. On the third rip there was a 4.5lber on the end of the line. Now this was toward the back of a cove and there were schoolie striper chasing bait to the top. I figured if I could get below them I would be able to pick up a LM and it worked. That of course is the only time I have had luck on that bait. It is a good bait and it will fool some pretty nice fish but it will never take the place of a good old crank or spinner bait when it comes to just flat out catching fish. Of course the video of ol Simenlips they show at bass pro sure makes it look easy to catch fish with that bait doesn't it?
  7. ;D ;D ;D Thanks for the heads up LCK!
  8. Thanks for the additional help. I'm heading out for the 4th of July and will definately be hitting up Wes Watkins. I will also make sure I get some bug spray, ticks are not my idea of fun. Never really had to worry about them here in California. I've spent over 20 years crawling through bushes and what not and have only had two ticks on me my entire life.

I had a huge carp do the same thing to me earlier this year So you are saying that they stock shad in your lake? Do baitfish not survive that well in the waters out there?
  10. Great fish!!!
  11. The poppers are fine for casting but suck if you want to skip them. Being that most of my frog fishing is done skipping docks and trees, I don't care for them.
  12. No, it is just that people in the rest of the country don't realize how small and pressured our lakes are. We do have big fish out here but they have all been caught numerous times and to get them to bite is not an easy task. I've had my share of 25lb sacks but non of them came easily.
  13. I love the original but don't care too much for the Jr. size.
  14. Great fish!!!! I finally got a chance to get your floating gill in the water on Friday and man does that thing look good in the water!!!! But unfortunately as Brokeju can confirm, the fish weren't really keeing in on realism that day ;D Well if you'd stop fishing for bait and fished for bass again you could have a pic like that too ;D Just Kidding
  15. Looks like a geat ten days of sticking. Thanks for sharing
  16. It's light, no one is upset, just trying to make sure that everyone is on the same page, that's all.
  17. Bigger than a robo 4" yes, but I believe he was aking about the Finesse worms, not Trick worms. Either way I use a #2 Gammy DS hook when I DS any worm up to 7" or under.
  18. After many years of messing around with colors at night I have come to the conclusion that it really doesn't matter what you use at night. I think that profile and action are more important at night than color.
  19. They have a flat bottom but if you look at the bottom you will see the Zoom logo sticking out. This indicates that they are injection molded. They do not float and note that some patterns are loaded with salt which will make it sink even more. I perfer the salted patterns because they seem to be softer and have more action. Even though don't float they are a fine economical replacement for your robos.
  20. Braid is great for top waters because is floats and your baits respond well but on the other hand it is horrible because it is so limp that the line will often catch the front hook an ruin your cast. You can get around this by useing a stiff mono leader but I'm too lazy. Therefore, I fish mono on topwaters.
  21. I like them as well. I would use them more often but non of the places I typicall buy from carry them and I don't care to order on line for one thing.
  22. I like 30lb braid in the green stuff because it seems to cut through better but I like the 50lb when I am flipping wood.
  23. Mann's still makes the Augetail. You can buy them off their website but I don't see the color you were looking for. http://www.mannsbait.com/Store_Index.html
  24. Jig, Spoon, Jerkbait in that order.
