I doubt that anyone has paid close attention, but R520dvx (Greg) and his wife Deb (Niksfishingmom) are residents at the lake. Has anyone noticed that they have, for weeks, been offering any assistance possible to the BR attendees? This couple has never met one of us, yet they have, and are, going out of their way to ensure that our trip will be the best it can be. My applause to the both of you. I'm very much looking forward to meeting you.

Kent, that's very kind of you. When we get to the lake I will go through your tackle bag to find out which lures you have that I don't. I figure that if I leave enough stuff at home, I can probably take at least twenty lures off your hands.

It's interesting that you brought this topic up. I've just started polishing my seventeen-year-old Tracker. My best guess is that this is the first time it has ever been done. I started with Aluminex Hull Cleaner that I bought from Academy Sports. This is nothing more than a mild acid wash, but it certainly did the trick in removing the oxidization. I then used a TurtleWax automotive polishing compound to restore the polish. Finally, I applied a paste wax. It seems to be working well, but I've still got of work to do. When I get to the stern I plan on building an "A-Frame" across the stern and then using it to jack the boat up above the side bunks.

Does anyone know if there is a place at the lodge, other than the lobby, where the members can get together and perhaps sip a cold beverage (wink, wink) on Saturday and Sunday evening? I would think that forty of us standing around shooting the breeze in the lodge hallways would be frowned upon by hotel management.

I caught about a five pound catfish at Guntersville last year. It was the only fish I caught all week. :'(

Are the three holes the size of screws?

Well, after alternatively scratching my head and butt, I can only recommend a plastic cleat. If the radius of your curved gunwale is not too severe, these cleat should suffice. Just my best guess.

First of all, attach a voltmeter to the two spare wires. Turn the boat key on. If the meter goes from zero to twelve volts, that's where you would hook up the power to your FF. As for the three holes in the stern, they could be for a transducer, speedometer, or even a temperature gauge. From your description, there's no way of knowing.

Personally, I would mount four of them. Two on the port and two on the starboard. Mount the two in front about three feet aft of the bow. Mount the two in the rear about the same distance from the stern. You will be amazed at how often you use the cleats.

It's a sad day when anyone with family or loved ones loses their life, regardless of the circumstances.

Here we go again. Another meaningless poll. :

First, the 520 cannot use the internal GPS antenna of the 522. The 520 normally comes with an external antenna, so no problem. Now that you have an external GPS antenna, you have two options. 1. You can continue to use the 520 and the 522 as stand alone units (using their own antennas) or 2. you can network the two head units together by using the MNEA 2000 network cabling from Lowrance. In this instance, both units will use the external antenna. The 522 will detect that an external antenna is present and automatically turn off the internal antenna.

Back in the small town where I grew up (pop. 10,000,) banks were open 9:00 til 4:00, five days a week. Businesses were generally open from 9:00 til 6:00 on week-days and 9:00 til 2:00 on Saturdays. NO business was open on Sunday. That was forty years ago, but with the exception of the banks, I would suspect that any town that is lucky enough not to have a WalMart still maintains the same values.
