  1. I like to look on the bright side so at least it didn't go through the nail, seems that would hurt worse. You might also have saved this from happening to me since I will now be a little more careful. At least for the next few trips while it's fresh in my mind.
  2. Then I'm a cheater
  3. I noticed that too. If you google the knots it seems when you double it that what they call the fish n fool. Otherwise its the uni.
  4. I only have experience with the improved clinch, trilene, and Palomar and have never had either break with fish on. I did read in another topic the other day where Catt said if you run the Palomar over itself the line will cut itself? I haven't been able to figure this one out. @Catt
  5. Pretty hard to hurt braid. I'm surprised it wouldn't pull out. That's one of my favorite things about braid, backlashes normally pull right out.
  6. If its that time of the month LEAVE the wife at home! Never forget the plug. . . (again) If you see a beer in my hand at the lake don't ask how's the fishing.
  7. Ask him to call the loan company.
  8. Just a guess but if they wanted trees next to the lake and the water level fluctuates cypress trees are a good decision since they will survive being partly submerged in water. Where as others would die
  9. Never owned an outboard newer than 91 and have never had an issue with parts. There is a big market for aftermarket older boat parts. Plenty of people in my area still running 70's model engines.
  10. There's always going to be brand loyalty. My advice with a used boat is look at alot of them and pick the one in the best condition and that best suits your needs. 2001 and up means your guna spend atleast around $5000 and up so I would test drive all your really interested in. Motors run better on the hose than in the water.
  11. I like there swimming craw and the paddle tail cane thumper. Both good cheap trailers
  12. Never a boat but have an auto. You paid him and he paid the finance company. Why would the title get mailed to you? It will be mailed to the owner and he will have to sign and give you title.
  13. Memory is when your line curls from being wrapped around your spool. Stretch is well stretch. Like a bungie cord
  14. The jig has a high percentage year round. Followed by a t-rig trick worm. In late summer and fall I gotten fond of the Alabama rig
  15. Welcome bud. I'm not too far from you. Dothan, AL
  16. I really love palming my BC. Its just very comfortable way to work my lures. I also don't have as many curly's in my mono since switching. I know guys who use both and I still have a few spinning but for some reason after switching I have lost all accuracy with my spinning setup.
  17. It wasn't long ago there was a post about this same thing and I can't remember the member who was sharing his. Do a search on the forum for "fishing log" I'm pretty sure that was the topic name.
  18. I buy SK bitsy flip jigs for the river and they are all I use flipping into big lay downs and sunken brush. They are cheap and I lose some every trip but I try to hit places that no one else thinks to throw a lure. My more expensive jigs are for the lake only and I have a retriever that helps with them.
  19. Can't believe y'all buy tatsu. That's just too much money for line IMO. Mono- any version of trilene Fluro- bought some and hated it. Using up what's left for the occasional leader Braid- spider wire stealth braid. But after everyone on this site using power pro I just picked some up to try
  20. too many different items to list but after taking advantage of the TW sale on Friday and fishing Saturday. I come into work today and realize the sale is still going and made another order. So they got me twice, nice going TW
  21. as Wayne said you need to look an see what your boat is rated for. should be a data plate on transom that shows the max HP rating for your boat. once we know this info we can help picking. just guessing but most 17ft boats should hold atleast a 40horse but this is just a guess without seeing your boat and knowing its rating
  22. Can't help much with small mouth but it really depends on the body of water I think when it comes to largemouth. They will move deeper but deep is a relative term. Basically I think what matters is where the bait is. In my local lake most bass have started schooling offshore and following the shad. But in the river they are normally shallow around cover. So it just depends
  23. Don't mean to hijack but I would love to see this chatterbait if you have pic. I've never had one dart left or right
  24. Although I haven't been able to force myself to give up the cash. When I first saw the Jackall Pompadour the first thing I thought was that It would probably be great on a calm night
  25. Great advice guys. I learn new stuff here everyday. And I end up needing to buy stuff a lot thanks to y'all too lol. Guess I'll have to pick up some scroungers and try it out.
