  1. Sam, There is extremely little to no grass in Peahill creek if you venture that far. Very little grass down our way (lower end of the lake).
  2. That is hilarious and might be one of the best stories I've ever heard. Haha ;D ;D ;D
  3. I love this one. Same lake, same scenario....I am not sure if mine was a bass or not, but if it was it was HUGE. I'll always think about that fish.
  4. Flippin4it you are gonna have to teach me how to dropshot sometime!

Hahaha wow I'm slow today. Looking at that picture I thought it was MOUNTED. I was just thinking to myself..."Wow this guy lives in FL and mounted a 6.3 lb fish?? Don't get me wrong, that fish is HUGE and beautiful I'm just sayin. AWESOME FISH!
  6. It was last summer, after sunset. The moon was pretty close to full cause it was bright, so thats why we stayed out so late...I remembered that my uncle told me throwing crankbaits at night work pretty well, so I tried it. 1st cast I had something huge on, so big that I don't even think it was a bass. It pulled my drag like crazy and all I could do was hold on. Right when I hooked it I got it like to the boat then it realized it was there and darted, coolest experience ever. Bent the hook on my crankbait and got off though >
  7. Well the spawn should br started by then I believe. Right now the temps are in the low 50's. Shakey heads work well on Gaston, and I do extremely well on jigs. Lipless cranks are great, and last year I had a ton of luck on suspending jerkbaits. Couldn't really tell you any specific patterns...sorry.
  8. Hey, I fish Gaston all the time, I'm heading down tomorrow for the weekend. www.fishlakegaston.com Check out that website, they have some decent information. It is a very good crankbait lake. Don't pass up on your jigs either. The jerkbait bite should be picking up very very soon, if it's not already on. If you have any specific questions I'd love to help you out.
  9. You did a REALLY nice job. That thing looks great.
  10. Those baits are sick! You might want to clean the pool before Summer Otherwise just start stocking bass in there and make it a big aquarium.
  11. I'm not going to lie, I love the evolution jigs. Maybe I am not fishing the thickest cover but I rarely get hung up. It also catches fish just like Matt said
  12. I'm headin down tomorrow as well. We won't be able to take our newer boat so I'll be fishin out of our coleman crawdad this weekend, should be an adventure~! I love throwing jigs at Gaston, they always seem to work. Also, Gaston is basically notorious for crankbaits, it's a GREAT crankbait lake. Blue fleck (junebug) works great too, love the powerbait worms. Crigs, shakeyheads, everything. FrogTog, where abouts on the lake will you be fishing tomorrow??? If yousee a small boat with 2 young guys in it come say hello!
  13. I love rollerblading, throw some 900s here and there.... Click here to watch 900 I like to wakeboard ALOT too. ;D
  14. :oThat is quite a price! Where did you get it from if you don't mind me asking?
  15. Happy Birthday Burley. Don't let these guys bust your walnuts.
  16. That's too bad, you really shouldn't give up on the Carrot Sticks, I say you should try one that's not parabolic. If were ever fishin in the same area I'll let you try any of the ones I have, I'll have 2 more soon enough. ;D
  17. It's great! I use it for jigging, but I'm not sure if I'd throw over a 1/2 oz jig on the 6'9. Thats why I am thinking about getting the 7' xh
  18. Those look nice! Must have been fun to get out there. And you don't look retarded, you look cold. I look goofy when I have cold fishing pictures too dont worry bout it. ;D
  19. Peasy did you get the 7' Xheavy???? I plan on getting that next, as of now I only have the 6'9 mh.
  20. Looks really nice! I see it on an evolution jig as well, those are my favorite.
  21. That's hilarious ;D Something I would do for sure! My little brother caught a Zebco rod with a rat l trap on it. He caught it on a ratltrap.
  22. Hahah, if you don't mind fishin out of a small boat, anytime is good! Kistlers and Carrot stix to break in!!!!! That'll be fun. Have you fished the Carrot stick yet? They're awesome
