CK before you seek out a new reel, see if this one works better with mono, or fluoro. I have a reel and I also put 20lb braid on and it did not cast far at ALL. I put the mono back on and it was back to normal. Give it a shot, you got nothing to lose.

LUCKY. I fish jigs all time. I have only caught 5-6 fish on them though. Started fishing them in january and haven't taken em off since. I get bites sometimes, but when I do its like the fish just wont have the whole bait in their mouths, or I'm just too slow.

I love those grips, and have them on my reels. Mine do not slip one bit.

Hey guys, my Brother and I have been fishing in these great weekend tournaments lately. They are every two weeks at the Occoquan Reservoir and man are they a blast. The reservoir has a 10hp limit so everyone has decked out jon boats. Its a team tournament and each boat can weigh 6 fish. Our 1st we only caught 5 at 8.62lbs and one of our fish that was around a pound and a half died on us >. We finished out 21st place out of about 40. The 2nd tournament we did better, catching a limit. We had 12.98 and I had a nice 4.13lb. The big bass of the tourney was 4.9. Big difference, but I think I was 2nd or 3rd biggest . We finished 15th out of about 42 boats in the last one. It was a blast. Here are some pics of the past 2. This is our 1st tournament 2nd Sure we may not win for a long time because these guys REALLY know what they are doing, last year there was a 27 pound bag! They are such a blast though, and I'd rather "pay to play" than sit and watch. The money is the last thing on my mind.

Thanks alot The seat idea was my Dad's. We really wanted the back deck to be bigger and have support, so we made if a seat. The other great thing is it works as a little bit of storage, and with the livewell for tournaments gives us foot room when we are driving around.

Its alright man, stuff happens.

We had this done a couple of weeks ago, and I just got the pictures onto my computer. We ended up getting a free 28 lb trolling motor out of pure luck. It's a long story, its a friend of a friend of a friend type thing so I won't get into it. Putting on carpet and seats soon. Let us know what you think Here is the back deck's neat little feature, we wanted the deck to stick out past the bench, but have support, so we made the support into a little seat. Pretty neat.

I was thinking that too, its what I would do. It might make someone mad, but better that then something else..

Alright, heres the situation. Say you were out on your boat, and all of a sudden a storm rolls up. What would be the correct thing to do? Say you forgot to watch the weather channel or you were in a tournament and bad weather hit suddenly. Where would you go if you could not make it/unsafe to make it back to the ramp? wacky fast retreive!!! My brother and I were fishing a tournament at occoquan rez yesterday and caught them doing that technique. It was random, he reeled in real fast for another cast and one hit it, so we started fishing them fast aroudn grass and did pretty well. I know how you feel, that 5.2 lbs looks alot bigger than you'd think. This is my 5.2 pb that I caught at gaston in march...I thought it was bigger, and so did quiet a few people on this messageboard....

Could you have the zoom set on 4.5 feet and not auto?? Maybe I'm just dumb :-[ haha

I kind of agree with you on this BASS xl, Swindle has been getting a little more worked up than he used too. :-X

A lizard that always produces for my brother and I are pumpkin/chartruese. We did really well yesterday with this setup.
