I fish wake baits from winter temps at or near 40, to summer time temps. I live in Ma, I’ve caught fish on big wakebaits 12 months of the year. ice out all the way till summer and the fall cool down are great time for wakes. ice out on a sunny day those bass will go shallow, your legit going right over their heads. They can’t pass up an easy meal. Summer - Fall fish them tight to cover. also night time all year long!
  2. I had the day off yesterday! Fished a few spots. pond 1 I haven’t fished much but caught good fish here. Never tried it in the cold. Got a 4.6, 20 Inch fish. Fat and healthy but empty stomach. She choked a real prey. Couldn’t get another bite. pond 2, a favorite cold water spot. Caught 5 fish from 4-530pm, they all came on the tube. Missed a few. Biggest went 3.6. They all came on a wind blown point. pond 3. A buddy told me he was going to fish so I went. He cancelled, got stuck at work. I ended up with 3 topwater bass, Sherpa and Psycho gill. Nothing big
  3. Plymouth, MA? I fish that area and the cape! HARD!!!!
  4. The 68 has more thump, the 6 inch is more subtle
  5. Water temps mid low 50s I’d love that right now. It’s ice out here in MA, caught a fish on topwater last week ice just melted. swimbaits from 5’inch soft baits to 9 inch glide baits
  6. There so many. Hinkle, Phony, Deps, KGB, Tiny Klash. I just got a Cooper B8s Miner Glide, awesome bait. DS customs makes an awesome glide
  7. When I go, I have both power and finesse. Like I toss a tube or t-rig , a flippin jig and an 8 inch swimbait. I’ll fish them all before I move to a different spot. Some times I’ll get smaller fish on a smaller bait, small craw bait, smaller swimbait smaller jig, I’ll increase the size to see if I can get bigger fish. I’ll get fish on a small t rig and try an 8 inch swimbait. Completely different baits.
  8. I like a big creature bait like a brush hog or a craw bait. I fish it like a jig, lift and drop.
  9. Got out yesterday! Got 4 bass 3 pickerel after work, they loved the Deps 175
  10. Wow open water in Nh, that’s surprising. I went last week in Ma, got 3 bass, 2 on real prey swimbaits, and 1 on a wake bait, Sherpa baits after dark. Biggest was 3.5. I’d fish a jerkbait, a ned rig or a small soft swimbait. My plan for tomorrow is swimbaits!

3.5 inch strike king coffee tubes are my favorite. I fish all the time on a 1/4 ounce tube jig. Crawl and bounce it on bottom
  12. Found some open water. Feels great to be back out fishin. Had a few good whacks! Missed a good fish on the cooper b8s miner glide. Got 2 fish on the Real Preys. Biggest was 3.5 on the 5.5 inch chaddle tail. Stayed for night bite got one on the new Sherpa.
  13. Good question. A wedge tail soft bait works well in the cold or bottom crawling. It swims on ultra slow retrieves. The boot tail soft baits are better for warmer water, or faster retrieves. A weedless soft bait is great for pitching to heavy cover. I’ve caught some big fish ripping it through weeds. A glide bait is great for calling out fish. They will follow it out of curiosity, they may not hit, but at least you know where they are. Also you can fish the glide bait in colder water like a jerkbait! hard baits are very versatile. You can burn them crawl them, fish em like a jerkbait or a wake bait. You have liplesss and lipped. That’s a loaded question. wake baits are my favorite though, I catch a ton of big fish on big topwaters.
  14. Yep there are plenty of craws around here! id focus on perch, golden shiner and blue gill for bait fish patterns.
  15. It’s fishin, it happens to everyone. I usually get mad if it’s some badass fish and I’m on a charter. Or something like that. Like tuna fishing fishing for 12 hours straight no fish. I HATE THAT I HAVENT CAUGHT A d**n TUNA YET!!!!! Or I get invited to fish on someone’s badass boat for some speices I don’t get a chance to chase often. Then get skunked! or when I’ve been up since 1 am, bustin ass and get skunked. but bass fishin, it happens. Roll with the punches and learn from each time your on the water, fish or no fish
  16. Around here there’s not much of a variety of what the can feed on. Crappie, yellow perch, pickerel, golden shiners, blue gill, pumpkinseed sunfish. That’s basically what you can find in a place like you mentioned, small shallow weedy ponds. Some places have white perch, smelt, banded killifish, alewives, rainbow trout, Brook trout, tiger trout and brown trout. You can get even more complicated with bait fish, there’s banded sunfish, darters and other lesser known fish. But what I mentioned before is basics for 99% of every MA pond. oh and they will eat birds, snakes and rodents!
  17. Wow harbor freight has one for 35 bucks, 700lb load capacity
  18. I have a 10 foot aluminum boat, I’d like to add wheels to it to help me launch it. Any idea how or what I should get
  19. Cuz it’s a SWIMBAIT head. It’s the name, anything with swimbait is automatically priced high
  20. I’m 32, been fishing since I was 3 years old, won a kids tournie my mom took me to. She created a monster. Been fishing ever since. But being a good fisherman 15 or so years
  21. Thank you, there was a few swimbaits I wanted to buy and have a few beers with the guys. All Ot for me! I’m looking forward to the check!!
