  1. I got 2 pickerel and one of them sent a treble hook into my finger. Idk what a bass is. If someone could recommend bass fishing 101 , bass fishing for dummies or bass fishing for beginners classes, books, or YouTube videos that would be great. Cuz I forgot how to catch bass!
  2. It’s nice to get out hoping for a good bite and seeing nature. The scenery has been great. Bald eagles, hawks, otters, other birds and animals. but this weather sucks. Warm cold warm cold. I never do well in this roller coaster weather!
  3. I can’t catch chit out there! The bass bite has been dead. One fish here and there randomly. You think you figured them out only to waste time on that one bite you found. Catch one up shallow in the trees on a jig, so you flip trees with a variety of baits to not get another bite. Then you get another random fish out deep on an under spin. yesterday was a grind, few picks out deep, got one on a flash swimmer kitech on a shallow tree. Had a few whacks on the flashy swimmer deeper but couldn’t stick em. Not sure if they were small bass or pickerel t boning it and not getting the hook.
  4. Love dragging a tube catches fish for me in all seasons. From 37 degree water in winter to summer highs
  5. Oooo I gotcha’ my fish was feeding on herring, we have the food source to make footballs.
  6. That’s a skinny fish. My 8-2 was 22 inches
  7. 8lbs 2 ounce Mass bass. Caught it April 3rd 2022 on a DS custom 8 inch glide bait. 6lbs 9 ounce Mass bass caught it early May on a whopper plopper 90 smoke
  8. I have some of them, haven’t gotten a chance to use them but he’s a local to me, I’ve talked to him a few times on the forums. I know other locals love them. I just grabbed some at a local show over winter. I got the turd( solid tube) a few frogs, and some creature baits.
  9. @1984isNOW hell yea lets get out soon!
  10. Carver Plymouth I got out yesterday, again random fish. Got one early on the bama rig continue fishing dead, , then I picked up another fish on a jerkbait off a dock. 2 dink bass. Keeping the streak going, slow bites, 2 dink fish. I fished lipless, swimbaits, under spins, bama rig, jerkbaits, tubes, jigs. Still can’t figure out these d**n fish. My buddy said the water was 50 gotta love when I come home from fishing only to find out people smashing big bass!
  11. Well said. I agree with that, why was that fish there. Instead of they are on a point let’s only fish points. Instead of they are on gravel, let’s fish gravel. I fish from a kayak in smaller ponds and lakes 200 acres max. So there is probably only one point with gravel on that whole lake maybe 2. My fish I caught yesterday were in a rocky cove, unfortunately another guy was fishing the other cove so who knows if they were in the over cove as well.
  12. I usually have a few rods with a few different baits tied on. Usually few reaction baits, a soft plastic and a jig. Trying to figure them out.
  13. Anyone ever struggle figuring out a pattern? Like you’re fishing a squarebill up shallow bam got hit, and get one. ok cool up they are shallow so you start fishing shallow with cranks, t rig, jerkbaits, flip cover, nothing no more hits. then you cast out deeper fish a jig, or a tube and get one, they are out deeper, so you start fishing deeper again nothing. Or you catch one on jerkbait up shallow so you fish the jerkbait, nothing, then you get one on a bladed jig on tree, then nothing, then, then a jig on deeper get one then nothing. Hitting random fish with random baits. You think you figured them out but it’s just random fish, even in the spring time. You only may get 2 dink fish on the pattern you think you found only to not get bit Last year was brutal, I just couldn’t figure them out, I was grinding for 2 or 3 small fish and not figuring them out. No matter what I threw, where I fished or how I fished. When I think I found the pattern it’s over. The last 2 times I’ve gone out, first 2 trips of the year, there’s been no pattern.
  14. Bite sucked, it was cold, raw and windy. Only got 2 dinks and 2 pickerel on a jerkbait, couple other whacks.
  15. Not really sure, maybe cuz I’ve been using other baits more. I got a lot of different styles and colors. During the night season I do bring them out. I should rephrase what I said previously. I don’t fish them as much as I used to. I just got so many different baits hard to use them all.
  16. I have caught fish on red up here in New England but I haven’t noticed a difference in bites. It’s not crazy good bites like oh red is definitely a factor. A fish here or there. I could be getting them on a jig then try a red jackhammer pick off fish or 2. Not the other way around where I’m crushing fish on the red jackhammer then pick up a jig and pick off 2 more
  17. 9 inch Ms slammer is my OG but I have stopped fishing them. I love a Psyco gill, DS ninja wake, Matt’s strong shad
  18. For big fish I’d have to say a big glide bait or a big soft bait. I’ve had my best big fish days in the spring fishing big baits. Jigs and jerkbaits also have caught me big fish in early spring as well.
  19. First kayak trip of the year. Felt good. But my back hurts, i forgot the seat. Bit uncomfortable. They only wanted a the jerkbait. Got one bass missed a good one , snagged a suckah, and got 2 jumbo yellas. Really surprised no pickerel especially at this place on a jerkbait. They were shallow on the wind blown side.
  20. Love that place! Never did much bass fishing there. I went for the trout and salmon.
  21. I’ve been catching them since last week here in MA
  22. I don’t do it either
  23. Valid point
  24. This thought just came into my head. Instead of tying a knot for the drop shot. Why not add a bobber stop below and above the hook. You can readjust the hook whenever you need?
