  1. One of my favorite baits to fish. Caught a lot of fish on them, big bass, pike and stripers. They catch fish! I fish the high end glides I just think they have a better action, and sink rates! I never liked the main brand glides until I bought my first high end glide. It was a DS customs. Fishing that glide it quickly became one of my favorite baits to fish. I had the best season I’ve ever had on that in my 30 years of fishing New England. In the first month of owning it, I caught an 8lbs 2 ounce, 7lbs 5 ounce 7lbs 1 ounce and many smaller fish on that bait! Plus with the high end baits, especially DS customs he can make any pattern you want!
  2. This has been one of the worst springs for bass fishing I’ve ever had. Took a break for a bit. caught my first stripers of the season the other day, caught 3 25-26 inches. Few whacks and missed fish.
  3. Well my 3 days of fishing turned up a whole lotta NO BASS. Fished Friday afternoon, Saturday morning 5-11 and a today 6-11 no bass. Did catch some picks and crappies.
  4. Got a good one the other night. It’s a slump buster. She went 5-2. Got 3 more dink fish. They only wanted a DS ninja wake!
  5. Had a day yesterday. Started out good, non existent bass bite, I haven’t been skunked in a while. The crappie bite was good, caught a dozen on my homemade jigs. Hit spot two, 2nd cast in a broke a rod and lost an expensive swimbait, on the way home I stop at Wendy’s almost got bit by a dog, I was CLOSE!! Then realized I left my favorite fishing hat the spot! Oh to make matters worse still haven’t got a decent bass in a month. I NEED THE SALT!!
  6. Good I need another! I can’t find anything big. Been a month since I’ve broke 3lbs
  7. Got out early this morning. 2 dink bass 2 decent crappies and a small pick. The struggle continues
  8. That’s awesome dude. I haven’t broke 3lbs in a month. I’m struggling HARD.
  9. That’s annoying! I tried my Orra, black max, the ambassador round reels and even other brands that I have
  10. I’ve tried some of my other Abus. I had an old Black max. The nut wouldn’t fit!
  11. Thank you @DogBone_384. I appreciate it!
  12. That’s awesome! Haven’t broke 3 in a month. I need to change that. I need a fish like that
  13. I lost mine screw loose and fell off. Anyone know what I can use? I’ve tried some of my older reels and they won’t fit!
  14. Go be a normal human. Go out hang with the fam, hang with some friends or find clear water
  15. April is prime time big bass month for me up here in New England. Well March is too but April is far better. I’m very specific where and when I fish. The herring show up in force to my spots. Think of trout stocking but this is pure natural. The herring run up from the ocean and the bass know it. Only time of year you’ll see multiple giants congregate. It happens every year but not long. Mid April to May is the prime time! when I’m on a herring bite I’m strictly fishing big soft baits and glide baits! That’s it. Hard fishing but it’ll get me my giants! Other than that, I’m throwing jigs, t rigs, chatterbaits, swim jigs, jigs, big swimbaits, glides, soft baits wake baits. Fish are usually aggressive and shallow! So that’s where I’m going! But to be honest when my spots are on a herring bite that’s where I’m going. I don’t normally fish else where when it’s game time. This year I might switch up though! Instead of focusing on just 2 bodies of water, add a few more to the list(non herring run places) but they still got giants. This year we had 10 inches of rain in March the bite has sucked for me! That’s the problem with March, a good warm dry March bite is great, cold wet March it’s sucks. Thank god for April when the weather switches. This year April will be good! They are in full pre spawn mode. I do believe some of these real big fish spawn early. That’s the ones I’m targeting in April! That’s why I don’t use the usual spinnerbaits cranks and what knot. I go jigs and swimbaits 90% of the time
  16. I’m here in MA. It’s been a grind. Been catching fish on jigs, big swimbaits, chatterbaits, t rigs. I fish the windy side. Mostly up shallow. No idea the water temps. All these are from different. Some were deeper clear places, others were shallow weedy ponds. The shallow ponds are more affected by the weather. So a warm day will heat up faster. The deeper places are more stable but take longer to warm up. The shallows even in deeper places are warming up. They will probably be aggressive too. Reaction baits are awesome right now. May not feel like it but the water is warming up and they are hungry. I wouldn’t fish finesse right now. The finessest thing I’d fish is a t rig, tube or jig but they are my confidence baits and I’ll get fish on em from dead winter till dog days of summer! Saturday it was a grind, my buddy got them on jerkbaits, and lipless. I had better luck, I got them on a big glide bait, chatterbaits, and t rig. Came from a shallow windy area along some docks. Monday was all chatterbaits and swim jigs, squarebill crank, shallow brushy windy area. Tuesday was a deeper place, wind blown point and a rocky/ brushy shallow area. Jigs, jerkbaits, and tubes got my fish.
  17. I got an older discontinued Garmin 54 DV. Got it from a buddy. Tried it out on my new yak yesterday. Transducer doesn’t work. It’s been a while since I’ve used it. I want to upgrade my unit. I want a 2D, Side Scan, Down Scan. I’ve heard the Humminbird Helix is a great unit. How’s Lowrance? Garmin? Humminbird? Or the other brands?
  18. I will fight a full grown Kodak Brown bear if this rain and crappy weather doesn’t stop
  19. Yep I usually just keep the jig I tied on. They are going to eat it, they are going to eat it! Sometimes they just won’t. Part of the game though! Find em elsewhere on a completely different bait
  20. I tend to over complicate things. I generally fish black and black mixed with another color. Then the naturals, GP and watermelon and varieties of that. I stick with 3/8s when flippin shallow. But man some days I’m like I don't understand they should be hitting a jig!
  21. I was out the other day flipping jigs. I love it. This thought crossed my mind. Million dollar question. You’re not doing well, are they just not wanting the jig? Is it the jig color or size? Or is it the trailer. I need like 10 hours to fish and like 6 pairs of arms so I can have 3 different size jigs colors and trailers to figure em out! 😂😂
  22. I love them. They are one of my confidence baits
  23. Not happy with winters return. I’d love to fish a full weekend sometime soon
  24. Thats an interesting theory. I love fishing at night with wakes. I do fish mostly slow subtle baits. I know of guys who crush it locally (MA) with crawlers. Like 8lb fish. I haven’t broke 7lbs at night. All my big fish were during the day.
