Bait specific boxes
I keep each bait in its own box but it’s a bit disorganized.

Bait specific boxes
I’m trying to get better organized with my tackle. I have the cheap 3600 plastic boxes that look like a tornado gone off lol. I stuff in to many baits, jigs, chatters, jerkbaits, cranks etc into to small of a box. Been looking at the Plano edge boxes. I have the terminal box love that one, just bought a 3700 regular box. Heard the jig box has problems with crushing weed guards. Any other boxes to keep jigs and bladeds organize? How’s the hard bait box from Plano edge? Trying to avoid pulling out 2 other baits with the one I want to use or digging through an endless sea of skirts to find that 1/2 ounce flippin jig

Deep Water Bass - Plus 30 Feet
Some fish you need to fizz. Happens in the salt bottom fishing for cunners sea ravens and other local (Gulf of Maine) fish. They are bottom fish, they float on top after reeling them in from the depths. Sea gulls love it

One kayak to catch them all...
I’m biased I’ve only fished out of Old town salty 120 PDL and the big water. I have the salty, it’s perfect for me. I do a lot of inshore saltwater and freshwater. Light enough to go anywhere. Can take some chop. I’ve fished in 3 foot waves on the salt with it. Also it’s speedy. I love it for chasing fast moving fish like albies and bones. The bigwater is a tank made for the salt! They are very stable. I chose Old Town for a few reasons. 1) they are made in America, Maine. They been in business for over 100 years 2) I love the PDL system. Again I’ve never used another system. It’s very easy to use. Instant reverse with the prop. Just be careful around weeds. The prop will catch weeds. 3) My buddies have them and swear by them. I started with them. I was renting them to fish in the salt So I got a feel for it. Honestly it’s a game changer! I was using a regular paddle kayak and it did its job but I wasn’t happy. After fishing a day in the salt with the salty I knew I had to get one. Long story short, I had save some money up. I had a choice between a cruise with my friend group or buy the kayak. I made the right choice. I’m very happy with it. Been 2 years. Makes fishing more enjoyable on the kayak. I hated getting blown around by the wind, no storage, and they are uncomfortable. I couldn’t effectively fish.

First glide bait - did I pick the wrong colour?
You picked a great color. You don’t need to match your bait fish perfectly. Size and profile are more important. Colors catch fishermen not fish. Welcome to the glide bait game. Learn it and fish it. Great baits that catch large fish. Very versatile

I love dragging a jig or a 4-6 inch soft top hook swimbait down on bottom down deep

Eastern Ma & New England Area Fishing Reports
Try a light action rod! They are super sensitive. Even a ned rig/drop shot rod. I just got a Euro tackle rod it’s super light, sensitive and fun. When you hook up to a nice bass on a rod it’s a blast.

Eastern Ma & New England Area Fishing Reports
The walleye, lake trout, drum, most of the smallies, white bass and musky were in NY, the bones, fluke, tog, scup and sea bass were in RI. The rest were in Ma, had some good trout fishing in the spring down the cape, some decent bass but nothing big.

Didn’t get to fish as much as I usually do this year but I caught some great fish. Couple new species and new PBs First ever musky, drum (caught a bunch)white bass, lumpfish and tessellated darter PB walleye 5.5lbs Couple lakers, bunch of smallies Smashed the stripers a few times Dixie jig fish Lake trout, king salmon, smallmouth, bonito, tog, sea bass, fluke ,squid and stripers Heres a funny story. I broke off a fish last March in some weeds. A week later I caught the line to the lure with the fish still attached and alive.

Fishing in the dark/at night - never done it, thinking about it for 26' - suggestions ?
I love fishing at night, mostly from shore or a kayak. I loved shore fishing cuz you get to see a whole other world out there. Different birds, bugs and animals. You can see alot in the lake too. Bait fish and crawfish. Also helps with your instincts too. I never had a light on, only when I’m walking or tying up a new lure. It’s by feel or sound. Fishing a topwater hearing smash on the bait or feeling the jig bite.

Had a great kayak saltwater trip to Ri, bunch of bones, fluke, scup, sea bass and tog most of them on my hand tied jigs. Went to Ny Memorial Day weekend. Crushed it. Bunch of fat smallies, walleye and drum, couple lakers, a white bass and musky. Crossed off all 3 bucket list species, and broke a new PB.

Some of those smaller kettle ponds have big bass. They are spring fed and deep so they won’t have a winter die off. the smaller pond you guys are talking about looks shallow and could’ve had one.

Moving bait color question
Black is a very natural color. Blue I think ads contrast. Also blue gills have black and blue

Eastern Ma & New England Area Fishing Reports
It was a cold one out there! Fished 2 ponds. Deep clear smallies and largies was the plan. All my fish were from pond 1 in 30 plus feet of water . Lost a decent smallie on the jump early. Got a few nice white perch on blades sitting on the bottom in 40 feet. It’s not winter fishing without a pickelre. Thought it was a decent bass from 30 feet. The smallies and pickerel were on the beast coast open water sniper with a grub trailer. Water temps were 41 at pond 1, 38 at pond 2. Pond 2 was a bust Saw a school of bass shallow at pond 2 and bait up top.

I got out three times in November. Bass fishing was dead but the pickerel and panfish were chewing hard

Eastern Ma & New England Area Fishing Reports
I forgot how to catch bass. The bass gods haven’t been good to me this year. I haven’t broke 3 lbs this year. Rain all day until about 2. Fished sunrise to sunset Fished 2 new ponds never easy this time of year but it’s always good to explore. Spot 1 was a total bust. Not one fish or hit. Real prey 5 inch alewife, Jigs, chatter c jerkbait, tube, under spin and bama rig worked the whole edge in the weeds. Pond is normally clear but it was cloudy today, foot or 2 of visibility. Spot 2 after lunch. Clear water, worked my way around the edge. Caught a few decent pickerel , 2 dink bass, a nice white and a nice yellow. Saw lot of bait fish on top. The bass and picks hit the jerkbait. The perch wanted the Dixie jig. Tossed a blade, chatter, jerkbaits, tube, underspin, real prey Got out again today. Still no bass. Went to a smallie pond. Fished all the right baits. Jerkbait, blade, jig, tube and finesse swimbait. Bunch of pickerel, few nice whites and yellows. Loved getting to use my new light panfish rod with 6lbs braid.

You like fishing shallow pond better than deeper in the cold? That’s something I need to work on. Rather go finesse fishing down deep

Aqua Vu Cameras
I have smart phone size aqua vu. I love the idea of it. Really cool but lacks control. I wish I could point it in certain directions instead of letting it spin around or spinning the wire! Seen some cool stuff with it. I’ve had bass and pickerel bite the camera. Seen schools of perch. Even watched bass hit my homemade jig on camera. (Dixie_jigs on Instagram)
