  1. Owner hooks run a size or 2 bigger than most of the other manufacturers. I have been using them in the size 1 but don't have enough time on the water to give an honest opinion. This mold is the biggest PITA as far as pouring goes so I only make what I need. Allen

  4. St Croix Premier 7' MHM is what I have been using for the last 10 years as it has become my favorite all around crankbait rod. Allen
  5. Not sure of the brand but the color is translucent . Allen
  6. No modification necessary the hook just fits the 3/8 and 1/2oz cavities I use. These are the only hooks I have tried and they worked so I am not sure what else works. Allen
  7. Paranoia about LC discontinuing them caused me to hoard them. Allen
  8. RC 1.5 in Copper Perch Allen
  9. I am using the Do-It sparkie mold and some 35 degree Gamakatsu hooks from eBay. Once I pour the jigheads I tap open the eye using a punch from Harbor Freight. The punch comes in a 3 pack and I use the green colored one of the 3. I made a groove in an old board to use as a jig so the head doesn't get deformed. Allen

  12. I use to wonder why hand made crankbaits cost so much until I made on from scratch. Allen

  14. I have the Ike finesse fishing dvd and he is a different person in it. His finesse dvd and the Kvd spinnerbait ones are the best learning videos I have ever watched. Most videos sold you are just watching someone fish. Allen

  21. They still have a few around here as I buy and sell a lot of tackle at them. It is crazy what sells and what doesn't? Last year I had a bunch of Roboworms NIP 3 packs for $5 and didn't sell any for the first day and a half. Ended up selling all 18 packs to a guy 30 minutes before the show ended for $25. Allen
  22. I use this same method for wood baits. To make mine I put a nail with the diameter of the lie tie I need in the vise. Bend the wire in half and then I use pliers to twist until it is snug. Allen
  23. Zoom swimming fluke Jr with a Owner weighted twistlock hook. Allen
  24. About one every 5 years thanks to the Bill Dance lure retriever. Actually I break 3 times as many baits bouncing them off the TM head than I lose. Allen
  25. It all depends on your personal situation if the more expensive lures are worth the money. With the help of the GI Bill I put myself through graduate school so I can afford them. Now my problem is finding time to use them. With the two lure retrievers I carry I lose less than one hardbait a year. Gas is the biggest expense for me followed by highend plastics. Most of the MB and LC hardbaits I throw are 10 years old or more . Allen
