Clue me in on where you get them for $80 and on sale for $60. If I recall, St. Croix Premier baistcasting rods run just over $110. Dick's sporting goods has had several sales on these and I have seen them as low as $40. There were also some on ebay that were buy it now in that price range as well. The 2 I have I got at BPS for $85 each plus they had a %20 discount going that day so I made out. Allen

Take a look at the St. Croix premier crankbait rods I have 2 of them and they work well. These rods are only like $80 each and can be found on sale usually for like $60. Allen

I use a 6'4" Falcon Lowrider spinnerbait rod and it works great. Allen

Bandits or a big o in crayfish pattern banged off every rock you can find in the river. Try killing the bait when you get it close to the boat? a lot of SM will grab the bait as it stops. More than once I have tried to make a cast and there was a SM on the end of the line. Allen

Black jitterbug reeled very slow One thing to be careful of is owls and other birds that hunt at night. I missed a hookset on a owl 2 years ago that picked up my jitterbug. Allen

There you have it! add that sand colored 4" flash and that is all you need to catch river smallmouth. Allen

8lb floro for all spinning rods and 10-20lb big game for baitcasters is what I use. Braid and a rocky river just do not mix well for me so I only use it is grass. Allen

You can modify do-it molds with a dremel, sand paper or small file. I pour 1/8oz jigs on a 4/0 heavy wire flippin hook so I know it works. Allen

Manufacturers don't alter the alloy to produce red hooks; red hooks are simply nickel hooks that have been dipped or anodized. Why are they gold after catching 2 fish? I am not sure what brand I had but they were definately weaker than standard hooks. Allen

I do not like red hooks and it has nothing to do with color. Red hooks are weaker than regular black nickel and they are the only hook I have ever broke on a fish. Allen

#1 Jewel Eakins jig #2 SK or Booyah (I rate them as equal) I make my own now but if I had to buy jigs this is what I would buy. Now the only store jig I fish is a SK pro model rattle jig in solid black for muddy water. Allen

Is a senko considered a worm? If not my vote would be for Zoom finesse worms. Allen
