  1. As I am trying to figure out how to make baits with components that don't exist I figured I would vent my frustration to see what everyone else is looking for. When making baits I fall back on 30 years of bass fishing experience and an engineering background. Unfortunately I am finding things I need don't exist so I have to get them custom made at crazy prices. Below I will list out what I am currently looking for. 1. Indiana blade in size 5.5, what I find is there is a large jump between size 5 and 6 indiana blades. Something inbetween would be perfect for a lot of applications but a mold from Lakeland is $3900 which is a bit steep right now. 2. 30 degree medium wire hooks in sizes 1/0 to 3/0. Mustad makes one in 4/0 and 5/0 but I need something smaller for small swim jigs. etc. which I cannot currently make without hand bending some 60 degree hooks. 3. Titanium spinnerbait wire= I have a guy that I can get some wires from but he only has less than 100 a year and they are like $3 each. Need to find someone that can make them in bulk and at a cheaper cost. 4. Skirt tabs I can have made in whatever color I want just need to buy a crazy amount of like 10k which is more than I could ever use in a single color. What is everyone else looking for as I maybe able to help? This is just my b***h list of things I need but cannot find without getting a second mortgage on my house to pay for. Allen
  2. Last time I bought some Uncle Josh pork in this color was 1988. Man than picture just brings back memories. Allen
  3. Maybe once a year I will use a jig with rattles? Like everything else there are days when a rattle jig really shines. All my rattle jigs are black as the only time they seem to work is muddy water. Allen
  4. Where can I find this bait? I need some for a color reference. Allen
  5. BOSS use to sell a head like the War Eagle screaming eagle which was nice. Looked the other day and I guess its discontinued. Allen
  6. Used it a lot this year from the bank actually. Small 4" DS minnow with a 3/64oz Hover jighead. Half the hits were on the fall as it shimmied on the fall like a senko. Allen
  7. They like to steal jerkbaits from me. Allen
  8. Cold water stiffens the plastic for lack of a better word. This is why I pour my hairjig trailers in super soft plastic. They usually only last 1 or 2 fish but in 38 degree water it is worth it. As for ballheads I just pour 1/8 or 1/4oz on whatever hook that the shank length matches the bait. Allen
  9. No, I use them for trout fishing and end up catching bass on them though. Biggest LM I caught in my local creek hit a Mepps and the biggest trout a 3.5" tube. Allen
  10. Finding the wire is the hard part! I actually make some spinnerbaits on Titanium wire.
  11. MS stands for Magic Scales on LC baits. They use to sell the scale pattern stickers that you could add to baits. Allen
  12. Anyone else catch this subtitle in the Megabass movie? Allen
  13. Add Fine Art Wagasaki (However in the hell you spell it) to that list. To the OP we now have to do a background investigation into you. Asking how the Vision is made suggests you work for one of the three companies that hasn't knocked it off and are trying to catch up. Allen
  14. They are as good as any other premade heads you find. Question is does Fishingskirts have any in stock? Last I looked there was less stock than a Russian tank motor pool. Allen
  15. Let me know if you want any of these stupid heads? All the hooks fit in my spincast molds so just cover the costs of the hooks and I will make you however many you want. Allen
  16. Brass eye Water Gremlin sinker shoved in the tube eye first. Texas rig how you would do any other bait just make sure to run the hook through the sinker eyelet. Hook holds the sinker in place and the bait is compact. Allen
  17. A lot of companies are making the stupid tube heads but there are only few hooks made that work. Below are listed all the hooks and sizes I pulled off Barlow's Tackle for reference. Personally I like the top two straight eye ones listed. The VMC works best on lighter line and the Gama 2014 for heavier (17lb Floro). Gama 2034 is thicker than most flippin jig hooks I use so if you want to fish tubes on 65lb braid this is your hook. Allen Straight eye VMC 7321 BN JIG HOOKS SIZES 3/0 & 4/0 GAMAKATSU 2014 EWG JIG HOOK SIZES 3/0 & 4/0 GAMAKATSU 2034 EWG JIG HOOK SIZE 4/0 Flat eye MUSTAD 38109NP-BN JIG HOOKS SIZES 2/0 - 5/0 VMC 7328BN JIG HOOK SIZE 3/0 - 5/0
  18. Always looking for a better mouse trap with lure boxes myself. None of them ever seem to work out so I always go back to the regular Plano ones. Allen
  19. Strike King made one of those 20+ years ago called the Flip-N-Spin or something like that? Allen
  20. Why would you make that move unless you are in the military? PNW is beautiful for 2 months a year and rains constantly the other 10 months. Allen
  21. Mo idea what that is? Allen
  22. Willing to bet I am in the Top 3 people on this site who own the most LC jerkbaits. If I could only own one jerkbait it would be a Ghost Minnow Pointer 78sp. Allen
  23. You know where to buy some? I am coming up blank on my search. Allen
  24. Vision 110 Jr runs shallower than other jerkbaits its size IMO. I am going to try the deeper version this year. As for colors I like Matte shad and the Fine Art colors. FA Wagasaki has worked the best so far. Allen
  25. Picture makes it look bigger than it is, 3 colorado over a 4.25 willow. Allen
