  1. Some idiot put the snakeheads in there the same way we now have flathead catfish. Allen
  2. Benefits to me is making baits exactly like I want. You have to use a lot of jigs to recoup initial costs. Allen
  3. So do you know what the bass are feeding on? I say this to echo Tom's comment about the gold blades. I have been making spinnerbaits for over 15 years and can tell you everyone in Florida wants gold blades. It has to do with the golden shiners being the dominant prey for FL LM. All the people I have dealt with want a 3/8oz spinnerbait with larger than average double gold willows and a whitish with gold skirt. Now I have never fished in FL but based on the above requirements the water is shallow and larger than average golden shiners were the prey. Allen
  4. If you are using a heavy weight than yes. Normally you use a lighter weight and the bait floats down giving the bass a chance to eat it or not? With a heavy weight it zooms by them so fast they don't have time to decide so their natural instinct is to strike. Allen
  5. 5 years later GP still works best for me. Now my go-to clear water color is Natural Shad when there are baitfish present. This year I have to give honorable mention to one that has been working really well. Problem is the packages got wet, the stickers pealed so I don't have the color name? If you hold it up to the light it's a green in-between watermelon and GP and has small red flakes. Allen
  6. The one on the left is what I have been looking for. Allen
  7. That is strange to hear? The biggest LM I usually catch every year are on a black jig during a 3 day warming period in March. Allen
  8. Maybe you can answer a question I have always had about these type of baits. Why do you cut the lip slots after painting? I feel that the epoxying the bill in before its painted would make it stronger. Allen
  9. I was going to find one of their videos and post it. Is that Busta Rhymes? Allen
  10. What are they? You can message me if you don't want to give up the secret. I for some reason have a bunch of discontinued Power baits? As for the unique colored Zoom baits there are 3 main places I know of. Problem is none of them have zcraw jrs in tiapia. Allen
  11. Have you ever watched a video of him pitching a bait? It is so impressive with the minimal movement and effort but pinpoint accuracy. Allen
  12. I have finally quit buying a lot of new stuff I don't get a chance to use. The past 2 months I spent $175 on tackle. Most of that was for a large lot of Gamakatsu hooks for $2 a pack. Besides the hooks I got a deal on some JDM Reins baits cheap. Allen
  13. When it gets cooler I am going to go through some of the stuff I have. Hopefully someone can tell me what it would be used for but I now know how Butch made his famous jigs and can make them using more modern methods. Allen
  14. I like a double Indiana blade bait for the simple fact that the bass have never seen or felt it in pressured waters. Everyone and their brother is throwing a Colorado over willow chartreuse/white spinnerbaits which the bass can identify by manufacturer. The double Indiana is something that they have never been exposed to so it works. Allen
  15. Chanel number 5. Allen
  16. So I have a bunch of Fat Ika baits but admit I don't fish them as much as I should. Where this bait shines for me is skipping under boat docks unweighted backwards. There's one lake that I use this technique a lot but since I quit my bass club I have not fished there in 5 years. Allen
  17. Buy all 3 and let the fish decide. Allen
  18. I found that cutting off some of the legs helped. That said I catch way more fish on horny toads than other frogs. Allen
  19. Doesn't matter what the package says? If they work then use them. One of my best bass crankbaits was made for Walleye and my best finesse worm is for steelhead . Allen
  20. These only work for me as a jig trailer for some reason. Allen
  21. Sorry, I misread the title and thought it said something about punching kayakers? I will move along then since my advice is off topic then. Allen
  22. 5 for 3/8 and 6 on 1/2oz is what I normally use. Wish they made a 5.5 size Indiana. Allen
  23. Is that a 4 or 6" worm? Allen
