  1. Having spent 17 weeks there I agree. Allen
  2. Yes, I mispelled his name. Allen
  3. So the standard that Cast Industries and most others use for determining weight is just the lead itself. If you actually weigh most 3/8oz labeled spinnerbaits they are like 5/8 or more. Allen
  4. I am a creature bait aficionado myself. All of them work but some more than others . In my experience the top 3 are; smallie beaver, baby brush hog, and chigger craw. There are certain lakes where others work better but overall these are the best. Now if I am trying to catch bigger fish to upgrade in a tournament then its; Yamamoto kreature, Super Hog, and Yamamoto hulu grub. Allen
  5. I was going to say that they make them because I just bought some at BPS. Allen
  6. Organizing tackle depends on how I am fishing. What I mean by this is if it a tournament no matter how big or small I will spend hours organizing and come up with several plans. If I am just going fishing for fun then whatever is tied on and in the tackle bag is good enough for Government work. Going through tackle is just meh to me. I don't hate it but don't get excited about it either. Allen
  7. It just makes life easier when you open the rod locker. The main rods I plan on using are already on the deck but this just really helps reduce the clutter. Allen
  8. Rod socks color coded? I did this years ago and it really helps. Blue crankbait rods, black jig, black with red stripes Trig, red spinnerbait, khaki swim jig, Spinning are mostly yellow except the ML ones for DS those fairy wands get pink. Allen
  9. About a year ago I was able to purchase luremaking equipment from a longtime friend of Butch Ward. The name may not mean anything to you if you are not from this area but the guy is a legend. He basically invented winter fishing and some of his fishing partners helped advance the sport that you may not even know about. Lefty Craig who is in the freshwater fishing hall of fame fished with Butch all the time. While I am trying to confirm provenance I believe I am in posession of some flys that were personally tied by Lefty. I will have to ask his name but another fishing partner of Butch is one of the original creators of the jet drive for outboards. Right now I don't have all the facts but from what I am told he was an engineer for Mack trucks here in Hagerstown. I know own the original molds that belonged to Butch along with the equipment he used to make weedguards, etc. Honestly I have hand made tools that I don't even know what they are used for? I feel like most of this stuff should be in a museum instead of my garage. For reference most tournaments I fish on the Upper Potomac river 10lbs for 5 fish normally wins. Butch and a buddy went out on new years day once and brought in 10 fish for like 52lbs which I think is still a local record. My best in 15+ years is 16-4 for 5 fish and the best I know of was like 19 even for 5. Allen
  10. I have some of these laying around in my basement. Never tried them and not really sure where they came from? Allen
  11. Smaller blade is the only thing I could suggest that hasn't already been mentioned. The design of the bait causes it to lift. Allen
  12. On vacation now but I will be working on one when I get back home. Buddy started making frogs in a custom mold and asked me to make him on with 1/16oz of weight on the rear. Allen
  13. R2 .035 frame, 3.5 and 4 willow blades. I have some of the heads already made around here somewhere. Allen
  14. Not sure why they are calling it the speed freak? Looks like a good bait just the design is not what I would consider a good burning bait. Allen
  15. What I heard was Gary did not want to sell to Walmart, Kmart, etc. big box stores so his son created Kinami for it. I remember guys saying they can't be the same as they as cheaper per bag? Told them to count the number of baits in each bag and get back to me. Allen
  16. Those things are in the Upper Potomac and they seem to prefer the most expensive baits you own. Caught one on a Sammy during a local bass tournament and the splash was so loud I thought someone threw a brick off the bridge we were fishing by. Allen
  17. So what is your craziest fish catching story? I will start with the time I caught 3 bass on 3 different rods with only one cast. We were fishing Deep Creek lake in western Maryland and the water was so clear you could see 35' down. Ran into a school of like 14" SM at the mouth of a cove. Hooked one on a LC Pointer and as I got it closer to the boat there were several followers. I had a couple other rods rigged that the tips were laying over the side with baits dangling. As I flipped the jerkbait fish into the boat a follower grabbed the fluke on one of the deck rods so I threw down the first rod and fish on the floorboard between the consoles. Grabbed the rod that now had the second fish and flipped him as well. Told my partner that was crazy and he said I think you have another one. Turned around and a 3rd fish had grabbed the senko in the water. Now none of these were big but they all were over 12" so they were keepers. I had to ask my co-angler who was the clubs VP about a ruling on the situation? He said good to go because I never had more than one rod in my hand at one time. He had unhooked the fish measured ,and placed them in the livewell. He said if he had not just witnessed it he would never believe something like that could happen. Allen
  18. I had no idea what a planer board was until one almost hit my boat. Fishing a cove in Raystown lake in PA. We were there for at least 30 minutes catching fish off of sunken trees. Well another boat comes in and is initially on the other side of the cove. He starts turning around each time he gets to the main lake or back of the cove. Paid no attention to him until his last pass. I was anchored and sitting on the front seat re-tying a bait. I noticed something coming towards the side of the boat and my buddy said he must be trolling. That's when the guy started yelling at use that we were too close to his board. I am anchored and have not moved in 45 minutes while he is driving around. There was a loud screaming match with him telling me to move. I didn't pursue it beyond that as we each had our 5 fish and started culling within the first 20 minutes of the tournament. Allen
  19. Another thought check with Siebert and see if he can make you some? He maybe able to get the heads from his tungsten jigs suppliers? I know who makes the Ecotungsten heads for them and it is probably the same supplier he has. Allen
  20. They are the only ones I know of right now. Terminator made one that was tungsten with a titanium frame. You can still find them on Ebay but they are expensive. I have one around here I can take a picture of. Allen
  21. Do they still make the slim senko? Allen
  22. One of my 2 senko tubs where my spares are kept. A couple of years ago when Kinami was going out of business Walmart had them marked down to $1 a bag or less. My tournament partner back then and I hit up 17 stores and bought every single pack. After that I had over 100 packs each in baby bass, natural shad, and GP. Getting low on junebug now with only about 15 packs left. Allen
  23. The 4" in general works better for me and catches bigger fish. Biggest fish on the 5" went 4.1 but the 4" has caught 4 fish over 6lbs.
  24. Hoping one of my hook ups can get me some GP craws cheap. I have went through a lot of them so far this year. Allen
  25. If you have their ear I still want the Dshad in baby bass and natural shad. I know that at one time I could buy 5" shad shape worms in natural shad on Ebay. Allen
