  1. All set for November.
  2. I've tried most an agree with Brokeju. Samurai braid is hands down the best. Use a leader....
  3. I like tackle. Period. The last couple years I've been more into the JDM stuff. Not because it makes me a better fisherman, but solely because I think these items are cool. Megabass, Evergreen, and the JDM Steez line are top of my list. You can buy a few rods to use for specific purposes. I buy rods now more so to use, but also to collect. Same with the JDM reels I buy and modify, and don't get me started on the lures. ;D
  4. never ever thrown a rod. I've gotten upset, but not Iaconelli upset. ;D
  5. Holy Smokes! Talk about an epic day on the water. I hear good things about that lure.
  6. Very nice fish there amigo. Good job!
  7. If my Zillions can handle 15+ lb peacock bass, they can handle just about anything. The Zillion line is the best work horse reel out there in my opinion.
  8. Left over tacos? You guys nuts? ;D Pizza Turkey Lasagna Menudo
  9. Could not agree with you more.
  10. Simon Bolivar and Fuente Fuente Opus X.
  11. Carbon fiber sunglasses. Limited to 250 pair. Oh, and they're only $4,000.00! ;D http://www.oakley.com/community/posts/1469 http://www.luxist.com/2009/08/29/oakley-debuts-c-six-carbon-fiber-sunglass-frames/
  12. Pretty reel. I wouldnt get one though, not a huge fan of round reels. Can't wait to see what Megabass will be doing with the Steez.
  13. I need to make a trip down there some day.
  14. Were finally starting to see some JDM quality gear here in the US. Unfortunately, most of the really cool gear is still JDM only. www.plat.co.jp is a great site to buy from.
  15. It may sound big, but in all honesty, I've never encountered another boat out there unless it was on purpose. The comfort of the lodge and convenience of having nice bass boats is a huge plus for me in my book. Most of the other places I found use aluminum skiffs.
  16. That is very cheap for GLX rods. I'd take a look. Who knows, there are some really good deals to be had right now.
  17. Evergreen Amazon Flip paired with a Steez 100H and 50 lb Sufix braid. Whether fishing for bass, stripers or peacocks, this setup works.
  18. The funny thing is Muddy that I dont think places here rely on the droves of people that supposedly come from out of town to fish for bass. If that was the case you'd see tons of fishing lodges and what not at particular lakes. The reality is that that does not exist. Even on the Delta, close to me, you'd think there'd be bass fishing lodges. I can't think of a single one. I think if any state has that it would be Texas.
  19. Formalities if you ask me. The point is that a larger bass has been caught than Perry's in my book.
  20. If Larry Dahlberg fished bass tourneys, I truly think he'd kick butt.
  21. That has to be one of the coolest paint jobs I've seen on a reel. Good job!
  22. Must be coming from the younger members. I hear kids use that word alot.
  23. Steezy, I hear you on the Megabass website. However, considering that you're a fan of high end tackle, I suggest you look past the website Companies lik Megabass, Evergreen and Gan Craft make some unbelievable rods. The amouunt of detail they build into them is 2nd to none. Oh and did I mention that Daiwa has a whole line of Steez rods that are built solely for the Japanese market? Take into consideration the 6'5" Flex-Lite Steez rod, I've had the JDM version since 2007. They call it the Blitz. Most rods from Japan also come with a very cool neoprene zippered rod sleeve. nice details that you dont see on US rods. As far as Otter Rods, Matt Davis, owner, builds rods that are JDM in quality. You will not be dissapointed in his work, trust me. What I found helpful was to order the JDM catalog from Matagi, (http://www.matagi.co.jp/english/index.html) and pick out components you want. The price goes up quickly though Matt is currently building me the ultimate horny toad stick. Since G Loomis doesnt sell the GLX 893 blank, I sent Matt a rod and he stripped it too the blank. Rebuilding it with Matagi and Megabass components, I can't wait to get back "Rodzilla". ;D Matt can be reached by email: otterrods@hotmail.com
